Demonstrations surged in recent months amid calls to end the Gaza war and Netanyahu's resignation. The diverse crowd reflects waning support for Netanyahu ahead of potential elections, where polls suggest he could face defeat.

"I am an Australian. I have always been sympathetic towards Israel.
Many years ago, I was in India with a group of Armenians and a Palestinian, and we shared our lives. He had to go back to Palestine to protect his people and I got into an argument with him. He finished with frustration saying, "You know nothing!". And he was right. I wish I could hold him now like a brother and say "You are right".
Do not get me wrong, I still admire Jews. But I only admire those Rabbi's that have come out and say "These are our brothers and sisters that we have lived with for millennia. And those Jews that come out in protest in support of the Palestinians.
But I have no love or respect in me now for Israel. They are genocidal and have forgotten who they are (as some Rabbis have also stated).
I also have no respect for all these countries (including my own) that just keep saying "there must be a ceasefire". And then the killing of sacred lives continues, then they say it again, killing again, they say it again, killing again, then they say it again as the lives are torn apart or starved to death for lack of aid. Have we done our bit by just regurgitating the same request over and over again, maybe to pat ourselves on the back for having tried to do something.

The Balfour Declaration and the British mandate over Palestine were approved by the League of Nations back in 1922. After WW2, the European Zionist Jews were shipped to Palestine in 1948 for the creation of the State of Israel. I think you lack massive information when it comes to history mate. You don't even know when the Ottoman Empire has ended.

For me it started on October 7th. It hurt my heart that people did this after the entire world went through a traumatic moment in history. It made me angry, there was nothing to justify the executions that I saw happen. You can stand there and tell me that someone's grandpa did something blah blah. But what's that have to do with the woman I watched executed at the concert. I honestly watched in disbelief and wondered how people could do this after everything we all went through together as a global population. They decided we don't get to live normally, they decided we don't get to live. I hate hamas with all my heart from that point forward.

The entire world went through covid together. We all had to deal with ridiculous standards of living set by the people "in charge". Finally things start to get to normal and us as a human race were able to progress together. Until hamas decided to attack random ordinary civilians on the street. That attack that day, sticks with me. It makes my blood boil. Because all of us as people just went through something so challenging and we got through it, just to have that happen? What world do those people live in that life is so expendable like that, that you get to decide someone dies because they went to a concert or because they were driving home at the wrong time. All those people care about is getting the hostages back. On any other day it would either fully support an invasion or not give a F about which child dies on the Palestinian side.
And as you can see, it's not even that many people. There are probably more people on the borders trying to block food and medicine going into Gaza. This situation is so bad. There needs to be a lasting solution to this.
