I’m wondering wether to get most of these (not kegs or the cqb I all ready have them) or the hornet recon set, what your opinion? edit: got both!! edit 2: didn't get the flood brute and got another cqb
The Brute is actually a Halo Wars Brute and a reference to the old Brute figs from back in 2009 or 10. Wish it wasn’t a rare.
That's what I heard. I think it's fine as a rare though, since not every figure can be a common and almost every figure is an army builder
@@DemarcationMedia Yes however the Helljumper Spartan imo is not Army builder worthy so that should be more rare than the Brute
Those Halo Wars two brutes, one grunt and one elite army building squad sets were my first Mega Halo sets ever mainly because I was waiting for years long enough when the Halo sets got better looking worth getting and those guys were my first I went and got two of those sets and have a special place in my heart and still miss them.

This series is so far, the best new art Blind Bag series Mega EVER made. I love basically everything about it. So many army builders, the fixed Plasma Rifle, CQB, AC Jega, the return of the Halo Reach Grunt, them straight up reissuing the CE Marine, etc. The only things that stop it from being perfect is the Grunt and Brute being rare, and the Brute using that weird light grey color for the body.
Think the domain said the light Grey and purple colors are a call back to a original mega bloks brute looks very cool imo
@@Jedi_Elias The general colour scheme is, but I have the old brutes and the grey is much darker, and much more accurate if you ask me

@@Jedi_Elias It is.... which is why it makes 0 sense they casted it in light grey when those og figures were straight up black with brown prints.
@@DemarcationMedia if they were based on the in game model, they should use H3 armor. If they were based on the concept stuff, they should have used a dark color for the fur.

I appreciate the review, Zee. The Universe series of blind bags remains undefeated. On another note, I really don’t know how the blind bags and the heroes haven’t been cancelled or discontinued. Being largely only available at Meijer, Fred Meyer, and Kroger. And with MEGA refusing to offer them online, how they continue to justify their existence financially to MEGA is beyond me. With Walmart and now Target pulling the plug on both lines, that’s almost seven thousand locations where these are no longer sold. Speaking of which, where is Heroes 19? Don't the new Blind Bag and Heroes series usually drop at the same time?
Not always. I think Infinite Series 5 was kind of an in-between series

OMGOMGOMG im just getting back into halo, and with designs and printing like these im getting hit HARD. Excellent review as always, great figures, great commentary on the paints and designs with color variation, and its overall a classic great review. The purple visor looks great with that green, and it really shows the kind of ridiculous color variations that they think of but also look good. And idk if the referring to the other helljumpers was in this series of sets since ive been out of the game of mega for a while, but there was also a pink helljumper thats really nice.

This is a fantastic series, good color variation, amazing new moulds, a super cool ultra rare AND BALANCE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL.
They balanced it pretty well
mega needs to fix distribution or sell these on mattel creations, i never saw heroes 16-17 or infinite series 5. I only saw universe series 2 and HH 18 in a random store in my town. Target is super poopy in NJ and so are the walmarts, last time i saw mega was the wasp

Im just surprised they actually made the brute form in general. The original human combat form from the old style figs had the original hosts head absent and just a little nub where it should be for the reason of "being to graphic for kids" so im glad to see that mentality is gone and they dont seem to care if its to "graphic" with how the flood head comes out of the brutes mouth and all that.

The elite looks beautiful don’t get me wrong, but they were so fricken close to making him very accurate. I’m very surprised they used the correct foot pieces, the ones that are actually from the Halo 2 Anniversary model. But the shoulders should have been a recolor of the Maverick Series Elite Commander Shoulder pads. And my other small gripe is the Spartan forearm on the right, but on the left forearm I’m pretty sure that is a recolor of the Promethean Soldier forearm mold which works good I just wish it was for both. But all in all those are minor things that figure in itself is fantastic along with the rest of the series. I’m just PRAYING we get good distributions of these because I can already see the scalpers foaming at the mouth to sell one of these for like 15. Great video review. Just one question, what is the best way one could go about buying these early or when they release not getting charged over price?
So, upon checking the reference images, the Spartan forearm actually is pretty accurate.
Finding these can be done two ways: find somebody with a Kroger near them who is willing to grab some for you, or check Paulmart's Ebay store or Popcorn8's Mercari store
I clicked instantly as soon as I recognized the CQB helmet. They finally did it, I really hope to obtain this or at least a possible better future iteration of that figure at some point. I NEED it.

Every smaller set release I wish I had a Kroger near me. Next state over does! But where I am doesn't! Hopefully Meijer will stock up on these soon, I've seen some online say that their Meijers are doing a reset for Mega and some other toys, so maybe these will be on shelves after that
So, just 'cause you have a Kroger doesn't mean they'll have Mega. I have like 5 Krogers near me and none are the Marketplace type that sells Mega

This is a series I would easily buy an entire case of. Hopefully Entertainment earth gets them wholesale. All kickass figures imo. If i had to pick, the grunt would be the lackluster one just bc we've gotten so many over the years.

Definitely! I remember being devastated that the elite flood lost, fearing that we'd never see a super articulated flood fig, but instead, we got 3 different combat forms just a few years later! Genuinely wonderful stuff, I wish other groups did the same!

Can't wait to drool over these never to get them since I live in the mid-Atlantic....But seriously great review my guy as usual. Hopefully...though I doubt it...these will be distributed fairly across all of the US and other countries/cities. Instead of only New York and California always getting everything. At least in the US lol.

I payed 8 bucks a figure back when clash on the ring was still somewhat available, I bought 8 of em 😭 it was the one blind bag I was not gonna miss out on!

The spartan forearm on the elite is accurate, because in universe there is kind of a divit in the arm, which that forearm recreates. And the other forearm is not a new mold, its from the prometheans

@DemarcationMedia nope only place I'd be able to find them were at my one of my local targets and now that one hasn't had any for a looong time. It's great seeing all the new ones they are coming out with but it's hard to get excited when I'll have no chance of even getting them.

Definitely gonna grab at least three CE Marines, and at least one Elite, maybe two. Best army-building series we’ve had since Clash on the Ring. Also, is the shoulder armor loose on the CE Marine? My COTR Marine’s shoulder armor just slides around on his arm :/
The loose shoulder armor thing happens on any figure--you can fix it by either coating the clip area with some superglue to make it thicker, or using a tiny bit of sticky tac. I have multiple figures with that issue and they've all been fixed

The forehead is a bit large compared to the in-game one. But the real issue is the movement
H2A elites look amazing but I think the simplicity of the current ones we have fits MEGA more

Mainly because they all have the same body, head, chest brace, and legs.
I don't have Tartarus but I do want to get S1 and S3 Brutes together in one video
The cqb being hunched like that is accurate to the halo 3 helmet, rather than the reach version. I have the mcfarlane halo 3 cqb figure in hand, and they do look quite similar.
Really? All the photos I found seemed to not be hunched, but I also never have had one of the figs in hand
@@DemarcationMedia interesting. It may be a sympton of cramming detail into small figures, and having it look presentable.
That is very possible
the problem I have with the CQB is that the head looks almost the same as the old articulated one, and they make the visor look off, which offsets the chin which makes the problems you addressed with movement.
other then that though, awesome series, I hope each of these new molds get used in sets, especially the new elite and brute flood. with all these halo 3 era figs coming I hope we get a halo 3 brute hammer chieftain soon.
The new CQB has way more detail but yeah, it's not as good as it needed to be
@DemarcationMedia yeah I mean just the general head shape itself, the chin kinda sticks out more then it. And it makes the visor look funny to me like the top part of the "T" in the visor looks too tall and wide. Hard to explain

Still cant get any flood figures i mean my customs are decent but I WANT SUM OFFICIAL i think my favorite is the marine my second favorite is the elite and my third is the brute but THEY ALL LOOK SICK

Seeing the CQB fall short of expectations after years and years of waiting is a huge bummer. I've always tried to integrate the OA (Old Articulation) helmets with the NA (New Articulation) bodies, and found that nothing short of sanding them down just to get them to fit, the cheek plates and base of the helmet being so wide. It's disappointing to hear that some of those issues have transferred over to the new mold despite their attempts. I REALLY hope Mega hears this and makes an adjustment for future CQB releases. In the meantime I may resort to 3rd party molds and prints -- much more compatible and to be frank much more detailed in the first place.
Easily my favorite helmet, I may still purchase it just for the sake of being a fan.
I agree. The mold actually does have a lot of detail, it just doesn't show well on the black. I have passed the feedback about the helmet on to Simon of the Domain so that he can bring it directly to the designers, so my hope is they update the mold
@@DemarcationMedia Would be pretty neat to see a MkV B variant of the CQB helmet to pop through, I personally prefer that model to the Mk VI. Either way though, I hope they do make a better variant.

Um... my kid just removed the visor from blind bag Spartan Haunted (Universe 5) and the freaking SKULL face is still molded in there. Not sure why I'm surprised - it makes sense from an economy of production stance, but now I'm thinking... the customization possibilities are kinda sweet.
Haha you hadn't heard that? The skull is always gonna be molded in there, whether it's being used as a Haunted helmet or Pilot helmet

A great series of figures. I think if we got an actual odst over the helljumper spartan, it would be a perfect selection of figs. I'd like them to stop giving 2 spartans in blind bag series. Especially as commons. I'm really happy about the change to the flood combat form.
While I do wish there was an ODST, I think omitting anything to represent Halo 4/5 would be a miss. If anything, I maybe would have removed the CE marine in favor of an ODST but I'm not sure

I found that blind bag series at Kroger today and i got 6 but unfortunately i did not get the brute and i GOT 3 OF THE BLACK SPARTAN but i did get the ac elite the grunt and the standard elite and i also got 2 of the new honor gaurds im really sad i hope i can get more money soon so i can go back to kroger and get the last ones before other people
The AC Jega is only 2 to a case so that's pretty darn good

Brute Combat form looks more bland and less shiny compared
To the Elite Combat Form and Marine Combat form.
So, due to the way they marble the plastic, that sort of color variation can happen with any of the flood forms
