  • I Bought 9 Broken PS Vita's - Let's FIX Them! 7 of the PS Vita's are 1001 models and 2 are 2001 models. Here are the repairs I did: replaced 2 charge ports, fixed a sticky X button, replaced 2 screens, and replaced the left analog sticks on the 2 2001 models. I also found that 2 of the handhelds didn't have any problems. I also was a bit stumped by one that had unresponsive select and start buttons. I tried replacing the small circuit board that controls those buttons but that didn't seem to help. I noticed some liquid damage on the motherboard but nothing seemed to be shorted or otherwise messed up because of it. Share your thoughts on this in the comments.

About This Video: I'm trying to fix 9 PS Vita's and hope to be able to make about $50 per repaired handheld less whatever I need to spend on part. These have a variety of problems including messed up charge ports, sticky buttons, damaged screens, and faulty left analog sticks. And a couple of them are really, really dirty. But I also find that 2 of them are already in good working order which is always a nice surprise.

it really is much more confident buying a repaired product from a guy like you which shows exactly what he fixed, how he fixed it and how you could've done it yourself.
honestly i can't seem to find ANY ps vita's right now online anywhere other than from Japan.

One thing I can say about the possible liquid damaged devices is don't test anything or replace anything first. Just clean the dirty stuff off and put flux on nearby components and resolder them by hot air gun.
During the process, also move the capacitors and resistors to check whether they're connecting to the board or not, which can cause the broken connection between the motherboard and the daughterboard.

PS has a huge library (bigger than Nintendo). If done right, PS can again dominate the handheld console market. The general lack of care made sure that PS vita fail. I really think PS should make another handheld console, probably name it PSP2 for simplicity.

    • @billy-waynejeffcoat4828

@@NaveenAlpha the thing you don't understand is Nintendo will support their consoles even if it runs the company into the ground as seen by the Wii u. Also I highly doubt Sony has more games spanning Nintendo's 7 console and 5 ish handhelds vs Sony's 4 consoles and 2 handhelds. While Sony does make good handhelds I'd argue game wise the gba-ds-3ds had better titles than the psp-vita. Sure Sony's systems were more powerful and feature rich but Nintendo has shown time and time again that you don't need that if you have amazing games.
