Stretches to GET YOUR SPLITS in 28 Days

  • 👉 It may take you more or less than 28 days to get your splits. Everyone's body is different, and everyone is at a different point in their fitness and flexibility journeys. Be patient with yourself and don't push yourself past any point of comfort. If you're brand new to stretching, this video may not be for you. Be nice to your body by only stretching what feels good đŸ€
    These are the stretches that I'd do in tumbling, dance, and cheerleading in my long-ago youth. My splits used to be better, but my right side has always been better than my left side. Don't feel like a weirdo if one side is more flexible than the other, but maybe spend a little extra time foam-rolling and static-stretching your weak side.
    TIPS:
    1. Do this routine later in the day or in the evening when your body is more flexible.
    2. Do this routine after your body is warmed up. (Here's a warm-up you can do: ‱ 5-Minute Active Warm-U... )
    3. Use a foam roller before you do this routine. (Here's a foam-rolling routine you can do: ‱ Do This Foam Roller Ro... )

    Not actually after 28 days, but after 2 months I got my splits! (Take a note that I didn't always do this consistently, rest day is okay, but my breaks were sometimes about 3 days long). I'm very proud of myself 😄

    Did this after my warm up (about to do your 20 minute choose your own adventure), but I just read the description so I’ll be sure to do this after my warm up & workout next time. Would be a good cool down too. I’m trying to get my splits for bants tbh as well as flexibility and for pole fitness. Great video as per!

    I started on Tuesday, took a rest day yesterday due to work and school, but I'm going to try to be consistent and I'll post updates! Just as a note, I'm starting off semi-flexible (maybe 5 inches off the ground when I go into a split) and I was a gymnast when I was younger so it may be easier for me to regain my split than if you are starting with no experience

    If someone was going to attempt some sort of workout as well would you say these stretches are better to do before or after? Feels like after (you say to be warmed up first in the description) but I'm never sure about these things in terms of which to do first.

    • @jennyfischerfitness5374
      @jennyfischerfitness5374 Pƙed 3 lety +1

      A dynamic warm up before your workout and these longer hold stretches are better after!! Static stretching before a workout isn’t ‘bad’ but will decrease your maximal strength/force output short-term. You’re probably going to also feel better about how deep you can get after because you’re nice and warmed up :)

      @@RachelGulottaFitness Thank you! I've (luckily) never had any issues with static stretching before but then heard conflicting ideas about never doing them first, or, as you say, it can be totally fine before certain workouts. Might try what you said about doing these in the morning and evening too to see the difference. Thanks again.

    Just to provide feedback, you make the comment that ‘your left side isn’t very good
but it’s a free class.’ In my opinion that’s a huge misconception. People doing your classes don’t want to know how good YOU are, they want to see progress themselves, instructors that can do everything appear out of touch and unattainable. If your followers see you improve too
there’s no better accolade, so don’t undersell yourself. One of the best yoga teachers online with millions of followers certainly isn’t the best yogi on line..she is not so self indulgent and people like to be able to follow along with her rather than feel outclassed and useless. This was a good class.
