To be fair, Gabi is basically trying to follow the $242 recipe, even using the crab shell as the ‘plate’ as the recipe stated. I kind of imagine if chef Ester does it, it might probably look more or less the same. Nevertheless, I want to try both dishes, both looks delicious and gorgeous.

The golden fried rice technique is actually one trick I learned for when you have to use fresh rice. I dunno if that's why Esther used it, but the fat coating prevents the grains from sticking together, especially important for Japanese and Korean varieties of rice. The method I use is one (whole) egg in the rice, the rest scrambled like normal.
Honestly, I love how Esther’s fried rice turned out! It looks very delicious, I am craving for it. 🤤😅🥰

Roger , fun fact all chilli comes from central America so all peppers are Mexican food not Asian food meaning you can use damn jalapeños since there is no such thing as a chili from Asia. I REdiscovered MSG after years of believing the rumors about its health risks and learning that there really isn't any health risk when used in moderation (just like regular salt), and I've officially fallen in love with this secret ingredient, it really kicks things up a notch and my fried rice tastes sooo much more like take-out with the MSG! I'm so pleased. I love wok cooking and how simple, quick and flavorful a lot of Asian wok dishes are. Thanks for the cooking tips!

@@samboyd1828 interesting! My theory was that this is the secret ingredient that a lot of chefs include in their recipes so deterring regular folks from using MSG would set trained chefs apart from the general public. Like a tradesecret kinda thing. But I could be wrong.
