Sga averaged 31 last year, similar assists, rbs, and shooting % they were 40-42… OKC didn’t get 17 wins because of him, they did it with additions, team defense, and 3 point shooting. Jokic produced more offense and rebounds for a team that was getting everyone’s best shot, on the spotlight, and ended up with the same record despite their second best player missing 25+ games… like what we doing?

MVP should be best player on the best team. it is more of a team award. once we broke the rules giving it to 6th seed russ in 2017, then 3rd seed jokic, then 6th seed jokic, now there is no criteria.

MVP should be the player that is the most valuable to their teams success. If you’ve already proven that you have enough help to be a championship team, then your value is likely less than that of say, a guy who takes a bunch of 23 year olds with no playoff experience and who’s primary help is two rookies and a second year player, all the way to the number 1 seed , as well as beating the reigning champs 3-1 in the season. That guy is THE most valuable player to his team. The award isn’t the best player in the league award. What is your value to your team?

The one that without him, his team would be not terrible almost surely. I think Denver would be much worse without the Joker than OKC without SGA. Jokic is amazing. No one is taking that from him. He’s just not the most valuable player to his team because even if he was out, Denver would still be a playoff team. You can’t say that about OKC.
