- On the latest edition of 'Road Trippin', Allie Clifton, Richard Jefferson, and Channing Frye discuss the latest with every playoff series including Celtics-Cavaliers, Mavericks-Thunder, and Nuggets-Timberwolves, which playoff crowd is the best, why the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic MVP voting was "lazy", why it seems like every coach gets recycled to a new team, and much more.

Time stamps would be nice.
9:36 definitely OKC crowd... NBA playoff crowds in a one sport town hit different
Lol yall were supposed to be live in JJ channel then this drops😂
I miss the old intro song. I mean, the "recently old" intro song.
Shai wasnt robbed. Jokic is legit top 10 in 4 statistics and shai is only ahead of Jokic in one. Also people using season standings when they literally have the same record is just deluded. Even if okc had 3 more wins it would be irrelevant
Isnt shai also ahead of luka in one?Luka put up historical numbers and his team was injured for over 70% of the season while denver and OKC are the healthiest teams
where was this thought process in brons prime though? Bro would have won MVP every year but voters looked elsewhere
MVP not only an individual award or lebron and Jordan would have 10 a piece and that’s why shai deserved it that team is inexperienced also in terms of defense shai is better not just scoring
@@will2358 This is where the discussion goes wrong. The award i s Most Valuable player and not an team award. Everyone has different criterias but team record should mean far less than what media and people put into it. Going by MVP only, then the award should go to Luka. He is better stats in most categories over Shai. Not far from averaging a triple double while his team Is far worse which means he doesn't get as much help and needs to carry more. For me that's an MVP. Someone that is the most valuable for their team.
@@BoyaWoW that’s not what it means and it has never meant and it wouldn’t go to Luka because shai put up similar numbers offensively, much much better defense and performed better in clutch situations..it’s the most outstanding player on the most outstanding team or team that performed far beyond expections that’s why Drose won, lebron won his first and 2nd over Kobe, and Steve nash won over shaq , Karl Malone over jordan, KD over lebron, and the list goes on it’s become an individualized award because most voters now are stat/highlight watchers
Loving the wine chat at the beginning, let’s get it!
Shoutout to Channing with the “tell me when to go” ref 10:47
Allies hair line ❤❤❤
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Guten tag
Love the show. But you really should release same day. Media moves too fast
Get well soon Allie
Allie is great and their vibe together is really Nice, and natural
33:40 to say "Jokic is maybe the best player" is so disrespectful
He's clearly the best basketball player in the world right now, and was during the season
Some came close at times
But ultimately, if you look at the last 6 months and the last month, however you slice it, he's the best clearly
I really hate that we changed the intro music. I’m just saying.
GA is not the reason the Bucks underachieve. He carried them until his calf gave out and had the one and only season averaging 30 on 60% shooting
Nba mvp is the most argued award in all of sports. The reason: the criteria changes each year based on the player and/or circumstance. The voters are inconsistent, which makes the award inconsistent
This is the problem with the whole MVP conversation. It's too subjective.
This take def is gonna age "well"
The nuggets play all-bench minutes when Jokic goes out of the game
See these two guys takes 20 minutes to try to make up excuses why SGA was robbed is just hard to watch
People are straight up being xenophobic in america when it comes to the MvP Discussion. If jokic was black and american the media would be SINGING THE JOKIC PRAISE
Saying its sickening how someone voted for Giannis is sickening
The dude put up 30, 12 and near 7 while carrying his team through offense and defence
This shows how the media is just a club that just get stuck in their own bubble
Jackass talking about his subjective story and how that should be the mvp proves it lol
Because then performance don't matter, just what the elitists want to be their pretty little story
You can make up a story about whatever you want, its all subjective
One can easily talk about how "Giannis carried his team to a good placement through all the coaching chaos they had to go through"
Anyone can make up bs
I don't think Giannis should've been mvp
But Luka is not an obvious pick ahead of him, neither is Brunson
Or vice verca
He even admits it in the end saying "small market guy...ugh"
Like as if we should give mvp to be nice to small markets
This is sickening
Your Jokic takes continue to embarrass you week after week. Incredible that people who watch basketball - or say they do - continue to underestimate his greatness. Shai wasn't robbed of MVP, and in fact, Jokic should have 4.
I love RJ, but his analysis is incredibly awful. You have to call it out when you see it.
OKC and Denver won the EXACT same amount of games. Shai averaged LESS ppg this season than last. If you want to credit OKC's rise, mention Chet (a huge difference) and JDub improving his game as major factors alongside Shai's great play.
If anything you’re underestimating Shai’s greatness this season. Of course Jokic is great, HOF even.. but bruh you’re acting like RJ said the worst take ever. Who led the league this year in 30 point games? Shai. Jokic had 3 40 point games while Shai had SIX. But ppl move the goal post all the time for MVP. Thunder was 3-1 against Denver this season. What is the actual point of the MVP to you btw? Is it team based or scoring and team based becuz you’re moving the goal post on what you’re saying. No duh Chet helped just like Jokic team helped it’s a team sport. Jokic avg 23 vs OKC this season and Shai avg 26. Shai avg 30 and his was #1. Stop acting like the take was some garbage when what you’re saying has no substance to it. God bless
I'm from Denver, and I think it's fair that luka or shai getting more props - Jokic still great statistically, and also impacting the game, and he is the best player in the league. This being said I wouldn't have been upset with shai or luka winning
MVP for the season should’ve gone to Shai. Best player on the #1 team and Avg 30ppg. The voting closes end of the season so the voters knew OKC was the #1 seed. Stop it!
This “y’all” shit gotta shop
Shai got the one seed without another all star while Luka got the 5th with kyrie. Idk how you can say Luka affects winning more than shai. Plus luka missed the play in last season while shai made the play in.
Look at their supporting casts those seasons… unfair comparison.
Also look at the trash team that Luka and Brunson dragged to the wcf
Fox led the league in steals
Richard jefferson could never dunk
shai greatness is his flopping for that 15 free throws a game 😂
Obviously not watching. Only had 6 FTs last game (same as Luka) and 2 of those were from intentional fouling at the end of the game. Shai put on a masterclass of mid-range jumpers.
