You don’t get into a relationship expecting the person to change or fix themselves for you, you get what you picked but some women think if they’re patient enough or allow their men to cheat for a decade one day he’s gonna stop and change his ways. If you start as the side chick or share your man with another woman you’ll forever share him because you never had a partner in the first place.
I was a side chick to a guy who basically was telling me for months he'll break up with his girlfriend. I left and he came back saying they'd broken up, we ended up getting together but I couldn't ever really trust him because of all the lies he'd told and I couldn't shake the feeling he would do the same to me. This comment really hit home.There were red flags so a year into the relationship I ended things. I'm just glad I got out when I did. Don't feel ashamed if you were ever once a side chick. We're human and we all make mistakes and more than likely you were being manipulated by somebody you cared about. Not that I don't know there are some women out there who take pride in being sidechicks but that's usually far from the case. Own it and the decisions that led you there so you don't repeat it. Here's to an amazing 2020!
