Alec Steele Blacksmith 2017 - Zábava
Loved this video! That said, there is something very satisfying about the sounds of the power hammer. I wouldn't mind less music, more power hammer. That is all. Thanks for the awesome content!
Remember you only get better from making mistakes. the positive side is, that you won't make this mistake ever again!
When you make the same mistake twice in a row you know it's time to pack up and go home for the night.
vdmnkv don't be so sure
If you only ever make the same mistake once, then you might want to try a tad harder.....for some it takes 10,000 repetitions and yep they make the same mistake again and again and again.
Nope that is not gonna happen again but if he is my it will happen a lot more times :)
Andrew Deme, why you gotta talk about my life like that?
"The master has failed more often than the apprentice even tried." ah how I hated this phrase during my apprenticeship. True nonetheless.
Middle of harvesting some corn and yet I still find time to watch you😃😃
Keep up the good work!
Don't send me into the cornfield!
Omg I'm surrounded by corn, cotton, and wheat in this small city
Alec is not afraid to mess up and start again Gotta love his attitude, plus i learn stuff to.
Awesome stuff. I think you should make up your own weapon after this project. I’d love to see what you could come up with
NO ALEC THAT SWORD IS RED HOT DON'T HOLD IT
oh wait, that's orange tape
Same thought
Lol
NOT AGAIN
Exactly what I thought
Sam C I
please try one video with no music at all and just the sounds of you making whatever you’re making
I love that he stays positive and patient all the time
I just gotta say I absolutely love and appreciate your attitude even through hardships in builds keep it up😄
Your blacksmithing montage jams are pure art!!!
As you seem interested in various blades I think it would be interesting to see you make either a Chinese Jian or Dao sometime.
As I watch more of your videos-I appreciate the editing and camerawork so much more each time. Big props for not just having something entertaining to film, but filming/editing it so well!
Great attention to detail 👌🏽fantastic progress. Looking forward to part 9!
I'm surprised your hair hasn't gone to flames yet! Mighty thicc!
using the two c’s before it caught on, bold move, bold move
Deployed with a few of your mates and so look forward to your vlogs everyday. Finally bought a real forge for my son for Christmas. He watches all your stuff.
Yay! More Blacksmithing! My life is worth something now!
Alec, I honestly envy your motivation and enthusiasm for life. I wish I had even a quarter of what you do
I love that you will scrap something that is sub-par and start over. Oh, and I also love that the music in your videos doesn't suck like that techno-crap that a lot of channels have.
I like how the rework was set to super dramatic music and the marking knife was energetic fun music. Good editing. Well done as usual
The sign of a true craftsman is making a mistake and smiling about it, even if it cost you hours of labor. Nice going lad, keep forging on.
Wow, what a series! The production that you and Jamie are putting together is fantastic, keep up the great work!!
bro the editing skills, the music choice the video quality and content....just so amazing. feels like im watching a movie!
9:03 oh stop it LOL
the musical montages on these videos are great! Good work guys
I love you admit your mistakes. Most people would make a new one behind closed doors and act like it never happened. Also it's entertaining to watch you work no matter what you are making! No worries!
It is indeed entertaining to see Alec make the traditional tool for this.
Poor guy, that's a bummer...so awesome that you still got new content out. You two are machines. Mad respect
I like the old school COD editing. Timing the shots to the music. Nice touch.
-Hey Alec wanna hang out with us this weekend?
-No sorry I've already planned on hanging out with my best friend metal 🤣
Good job Alec beautiful work 👌
You do your thing, man. We’re just along for the ride!
Really like having a little side project in between. The variety is nice.
Love the vids! Hope to see more detailed info and learn more of your craft!
Just wanted to let you know I think this video had the best music you’ve ever had in a video. Really good stuff.
I am constantly impressed by your attitude, Alec. Such a positive outlook, such a positive way to look at mistakes. Kudos, man. Seriously. Very inspiring to watch. You should do a TED talk on making mistakes.
The the keradashi sequence is a master class in editing. This guy is a slayer.
I like the synchronized music/forging at 5:50, satisfying to listen/watch
Hey Alec! Great videos. I like the way you show the beauty of forging and steel craftig. Keep doing this kind of videos. Very professional!
Between the videography and hand hammer weld this was one of my favorite videos
Love the videos Alec. But not a fan of the new audio editing. We've hardly heard any hammer, tool, or machine sounds like we use to in your old vids. Love that old shop sound.
Terry Shaffer I miss the sounds of the Pilkington.
I agree ... bring back some of the ambient sound ... you can still use the music, but adjust accordingly. Thumbs up overall.
I agree. I want to see a workshop video not a music video.
Terry Shaffer completely agree
Yep its all Yak Yak and Funk Music now ... no Wak Wak !
Credit to you and Jamie. The edit on this video was first class. I especially liked how the audio was synced with the strikes of your hammer. I'm not one who thinks we need to hear the natural sound of each strike .
Your redue was awesome. Others might have tried to save it. Sometimes your best option is to know when to scrap and start over! Great job! One of my favorite episodes!
Hey, Alec! You are by far my favorite CZcamsr! You seem like a genuine person, you're entertaining to watch, and you are an awesome craftsman! People try to ruin good things by throwing shade at you, but don't listen! Keep up the great work!
I learnt a very important thing: Everybody, once in a while, screws up. But handling these situations like a professional is the key difference. Thanks for showing this. This is part of the creative process.
I'd love to see you try your hand at making a spadroon! I think it would be a fun project to watch you tackle!
The sequence at 5:51 blows my mind. Either you can edit with a track pad like a literal god or you got real lucky. Regardless, awesome editing.
You do fine work Alec! Always entertaining no matter what!
A kiridashi is exactly what I need. I'm getting started in hand tool wood working ann could use a marking knife. This is great to watch!
So nice to see someone that actually Knows how to properly use a file.
Glad to see the katana being forged from two different materials. Looking forward to seeing that transpire to a finished project and see how the transition between the two went. Could be cool. A hammered finish on the wrought iron would look great transitioning to the pattern of the Damascus. Great content Btw Alex.
Kiridashi is looking awesome. You should consider making a batch and selling them on your shop, I know I’d buy one!
Props on the music, I stopped halfway through to check the description and look it up!
We need to bring back that baker street forge type vibe where you did all of the filming forging and editing....dont loose your roots brother still love the vids. Best wishes from texas!!!
Great job with this series so far Alec. The Katana is my all time favorite sword and seeing one in Damascus steel is awesome. For your next project try to add some Nickel in your billet as it will etch very bright. Enjoy and keep up the good work.
Thanks Alec! Great video as usual. Love your attitude.
The music alone is really nice and refreshing. I've enjoyed this build so far, the montages are fun. Alec has a good personality for this kind of stuff. I'm this close to subscribing
I'm still waiting for that katana finished, you are making a lot work.I believe it's going go be an amazing sword.
I love the music... thanks for touching multiple cultures... some of your views need to open their minds... its not going to kill them to hear a different type of music every once in awhile. I appreciate your channel and you got all my respect. Top job on everything
sooo in love with the music alec :D
Thanks for keeping us entertained 👍
Having a mini build in between the making of the katana was a great idea
That forge weld was beautiful!!!!!
Gotta say some great editing going into these videos on top of great content great job
It was really cool to see how easily (relative) it was to forge the iron vs the steel! Great video Alec.
i have never seen someone so happy to start over
You win some you learn some. It sucks that the learning took hours, but it’s knowledge gained and an amusing story.
I still love watching this episode. Just something entirely too satisfying about it. You inspire me sir.
I think this is rad, but am I am the only one who thinks maybe this tsuba should be more of an ellipse, or otherwise more ornate? I feel, given what I saw you do with the copper stag's head, Alec, you're capable of more!
Pierce Jamieson he is capable of more, but i think the brutal simplicity of it fits well with his over all style
True. Perhaps he doesn't want to take away from that next level pattern on the blade
@ Pierce, I don't think that it would take away from the blade, but rather compliment it. it doesn't need to be copper tough, imo he could just make some patterns in the scale that is on the guard right now, it wouldn't be as flashy
This is how he should have approached it.... Pay attention to how the metal are lined up and how the curve is formed in the quench: czcams.com/video/VE_4zHNcieM/video.html
The excuse for not using the clay does not make sense since he can etch it after removing it.. I'm thinking he does not understands the curve comes naturally and is not contrived.
Great channel Alec. All your videos, all the knowledge you have and especially your work, is absolutely phenomenal. Keep it up.
Keep up the great work Alec your doing just fine sir!
Daaamn that montage music had me so hype
Beautiful videos as always, Alec!
I wouldn't worry about trying to make "better" videos, they're some of the best ones around already
As a smith myself i love watching you work wish i had half the tools you do and a shop lol much love and all the luck on this and all future projects
I'm looking forward to seeing how this tool is used.
Love the music and the edit , keep it up Alec
Nice editing on this one. Good Job :)
I love this dude! Always concerned about where he stands with his fan base. Thanks Alec!! You're amazing brother.👍
Awesome content.. thank you for this addictive stuff!
I love that you cut a circle off to smash it into a square to then smash it into a circle again.
Always good that you show when you make mistakes. Lets everybody know that mistakes are part of the process.
Wow so awesome video AlecSteele I love it keep up with good work 😉
Your camera man slash editor (whoever that is) is a treasure. Amazing job.
An entertaining program huh? Very entertaining indeed!!! Thanks Alec.
*Takes a break from making Japanese sword* "We're going to make a kiradashi!"
Hmm... Alec, what's a kiradashi?
"It is a Japanese marking knife!"
Of course it is, Alec. Of course it is.
Edit: The kiradashi looks like Jason Voorhees' bottle opener.
It would be nice if you added a small time lapse clock to understand the amount of time each step takes. Keep up the good work.
I could most definitely take care of that tsuka when you're done with it 😇
This might be one of my favorite episodes. loved seeing the you forge weld by hand. it was "fantastic" cheers mate.
Awesome music video man! Think I watched this episode four or five times just to listen!
fantastic work as always. That song during the making of the kiridashi was fantastic too.
Although your vids can be entertaining, I originally subbed to your channel because of your energy, enthusiasm, passion and insane skills for being so young. I learned. You taught. I enjoyed the tenor of your older vids because I felt like I was there with you. Learning, creating, experiencing. The content is there in your projects. I don’t have to have all of the flash, bang of multiple camera angles, fast forward, slo-mo, catchy music. Please don’t take this the wrong way. You and your craft/projects are the content. The rest is gravy over the top. Looking forward to seeing how the katana turns out!!!
Would really like to see a swept hilt Italian style rapier at some point. 1640s style would be even better.
Never cease to amaze!
I love how the video editor syncs the hammering clips to the music.
How these vids are edited each day amazes me shout out to the editor!
At first when I saw the kiridashi in the thumbnail, I didn't realize what it was, and I thought Alec had broken the sword. I literally would've cried!
OPTIMISM!!! love this channel
awesome!
been looking forward to this
Alec, your production quality has been unbelievable since you got the new place. I'd be hard pressed to see Cable television edited this well.
CRAZY IDEA!!! Someone should make a stop motion movie of a sword being forged, bet only when the powerhammer is in contact with the metal. That would look cool.
