In an interview with Variety, Ronson explained how his “all-time hero” ended up working on the film: “I sent him the song, and he was like, ‘This is a good song… cool, I’ll play on it.’ He kills it, he plays the solo at the end and the rhythm parts. It’s wonderful.”
I'm Just Ken manages to fit a ton of male taboos / patriarchy stigmas (male romantism, the need to be "someone" and "have someone", feelings and male friendly affection) in short and fun verses. Low key got me emotional and i didn't even noticed why at the moment.

Just Ken is a lyrical masterpiece. I usually hate Ice Spice, but somehow... Barbie World in the credits was acceptable
I liked it in the credits after watching the movie, but I wouldn't listen to it later. It reminded me of that 90s thing where rappers would rap about teenage mutant ninja turtles or whatever in the credits and it was always fun in the cinema, but like, no where else.

The Ice Spice track is track 3 on the cd, although it's the end credits track in the movie, I'm not going to look up the time stamp but he talks about them in order, so near the beginning. His take is that he's not big into Ice Spice but she does good here but he finds the Aqua sample tacky, which, yes. I think Gerwig used impressive restraint in how little she used the Aqua track since obviously that's the first thing everyone thinks of. Zack Snyder would have played it like eight times through the movie.@@chosen2497

I was literally just thinking this morning that it's a shame you don't review soundtracks because I really wanted to hear your thoughts, so this is a pleasant surprise! And yeah, I think this is a pretty fair and solid review, the album has some bangers throughout, but the latter half does flag a bit.
Also very much appreciate the solidarity statement with WGA/SAG-AFTRA. Melon solidarity is kenough.

that song is an example of one of the songs of all time which mash 2 artists together with a sample and meh arrangement. Ice Spice is just, too flat in her tone and shows nearly zero passion in her voice. I know this is not the only meter to judge an artist but she is not for me, I can see no personality in her except her sexy body
Pretty positive for a soundtrack. Much like last year's Minion's, I think of soundtracks are akin to a playlist and inevitably I just wanna pick out certain songs to keep rather than enjoy the whole thing like an album.

i think the crazy town interpolation on butterfly is actually genius considering the point in the film in which it plays. not going to spoil, but it completely matches the vibes of the situation.

To anyone that enjoyed Ryan Gosling’s performance. Check out Dead Man’s Bones. Based on Ryan’s love for The Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World, him and his friend sing and play everything on the album. I also recommend reading the Wikipedia page. Overall fun experience and fun story.

Nice review. I'm Just Ken really was amazing, Ryan Gosling's performance was just stunning. Dance the Night Away was also very groovy and very apt for the film's dance sequence.

What's funny about this review is that there's a scene in the movie where one of the Kens talks about Lou Reed to the Barbies and he talks exactly like you
I am always a little diverted from the black bar in the left side of your glasses.
It appears when the greenscreen would be visible in the classes. An easy fix might be to add a white background to the album cover layer or even a picture of that exact wall.
