The reason he's not singing all the lyrics is because the crowd is singing those lines.
You didn't hear the whole song. You missed more than half the song my lady. If you want to react to a Live performance, the one in Moscow is great. If you want the studio version you should watch a lyric video. But it's important to actually hear the rest of the song. I know you'll love it.
It's about addiction. Lead singer James is singing it as the drug and how it destroys your life. Please do yourself a favor and listen to the studio version or one of the live performances other people in your comments are suggesting. It's definitely worth it 😁❤️
$hitty version. Stop watching the “lives”. Watch the lyric videos first. They get bored playing and singing the same thing over and again. So they change it up. Not for the better, ever.
D😭ugs is the master pulling your strings. Should have listened to album version 🤘😎
Iconic band and iconic album. The Master of puppets album is the first metal recording to be selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the national recording registry. It’s considered to be culturally, historically significant.
$hitty version. Stop watching the “lives”. Watch the lyric videos first. They get bored playing and singing the same thing over and again. So they change it up. Not for the better, ever.
The Studio version is a completely different song, it has a long middle section that makes this whole song a masterpiece, the singer also left it to the audience to sing like half of the lyrics
The song cut off, you only heard half of it and missed all the best. Watch the Seattle version
That Seattle show is what turned me into a Metallica fan. Their performance of ...And Justice for All at the same show is epic as well
You have to redo this reaction! Definitely do the album version (with lyrics) before live versions. Album version has a very long middle section then another verse and chorus (and most live versions).
I wish everybody would have just suggested *Britt* do a reaction again to the studio album so she could realize the double entendre rather than explaining what the song is about
Had she reacted to the album version or lyric video this could have been an incredible reaction the double entendre of the song
For this song live go to Seattle 1989, the best version for sure!
Metallica live are amazing (when you already know the songs well). For first reaction, I would recommend to do lyric versions of metallica songs.
Studio versions with lyrics are best for first time listeners. And this particular live version is not the best either. Seattle 1989 Live would be the one to listen to. That version didn't have the bridge or many of the verses or solos. You can not get a sense of how great that song is from this version
@@ceeph36 generally speaking, I do agree. There are a few notable but rare exceptions such as Phil Collins In The Air Tonight which has a specific live version immensely better than the studio.
@@LordRahl1975 I speaking specifically about Metallica Live
$hitty version. Stop watching the “lives”. Watch the lyric videos first. They get bored playing and singing the same thing over and again. So they change it up. Not for the better, ever. BTW: I’ve never seen another band do so many Damn encores. I’ve seen a lot of bands and I’ve seen Metallica more times than YOU in concert.
Hey Brit enjoyed the reaction. Yeah if you're listening to Metallica for the 1st time You should probably listen to the studio version so you can hear the lyrics clearly. It's a very deep song A roller coaster ride of emotions. Have a great day !
She reacted to "Enter the sandman" video a while back! You need to watch her ! It was great!
That's the tough part about live performances, a lot of times they'll give room for the crowd to fill in the lyric but the recording equipment doesn't pick it up that well (because it's meant to be good at cancelling it out), and also in the moment if a guitar/drum can lose synch and it's a way to resynch to just skip a line or 2.
This is classic Metalica before what some people will say that they "sold out" and went more mainstream heavy metal. They started as a Speed Metal band.
Look up Master of Puppets in Manchester. He’s outdoors, it’s raining and the crowd singing is really loud. It is the best live performance of any band I’ve ever seen. Just ridiculous 🫣😮
Wish she would have done the ‘89 Seattle live version, this was when his (James) voice was his best. This live video he already lost his voice and struggled. But the fans there knew all the words and just went on ship with metallica. Plus when the word master comes at the pause that was the bass player (Jason). You also missed out on the rest of the song, the solo and harmonic guitar solos was beautiful
They were considered Thrash Metal up until about 1990. Mostly considered hard rock heavy metal ever since, however, their more recent albums have delved back into the earlier thrash roots. They are still rocking well into their 60's now.
It's primarily about drug addiction. The lines:
"Needlework the way, never you betray
Life of death becoming clearer"
(clearly about shooting up)
And
"Pain monopoly, ritual misery
Chop your breakfast on a mirror"
(cocaine or other drug you chop up and snort)
Props for pulling up lyrics! Not a lot of people do with non lyric videos.
Please listen to the lyric video. That was only half of the song. It’s a long one, but I promise it won’t seem like it!
It's live with the audience sing the alternate lines of the lyrics .
Also, this was shortly after the lead singer started to get vocal lessons because of problems with his voice and a couple of years before he went to rehab...
The crowd sang the "missing" lyrics.
I would've got the meaning of this song years ago if i knew he was saying "Chop your breakfast on a mirror" and not "Dump your breakfast on a mirror".......misheard lyrics completely change the meaning
Studio version, studio version, studio version. There are some good live versions out there, but to get the full effect, it has to be the studio version.
The crowd was singing most of it.
Gotta here the studio version to appreciate this masterpiece
Check out the studio version. That was only half of the song, cut short more than likely due to time restriction.
You should watch the '91 Live in Moscow version of "Enter Sandman" with over a million people, helicopters flying over just to cool the crowd, and the sound quality is so much better.
PANTERA is a must watch cemetery gates, walk, domination, 5 minutes alone, floods, cowboys from hell Live is the only way to watch them RIP DIME
I've played guitar for 26 years and I love playing this song. Not to brag, but I always play this without looking at my fingers (not joking) and that includes the solos. However...this is not the full song. Back then they had a big tendency of always stoppping the song before the melodic, slow section begins and instead play "Seek and Destroy", or something.
best song ever written
Hetfield sings some of the lyrics then he pulls away from the mic so the fans can sing a verse...then he hops back on the mic...then turns it over to the fans...then back to the mic.
The song is about drug addiction and the control drugs have over people. The song also throws in a couple of anti-war references too.
Check out Rush - Working Man live in Cleveland
He let the crowd sing some parts.
Errgghh, this was that point in the '90s where they were only playing half the song for some reason. Don't know who's freaking idea that was.
Heavy Metal, Rock... It's METALLICA
If you want the full version of this song (live), try Live Shit Binge and Purge Seattle 1989.. the energy that night was crazy. Otherwise the studio version is good.. the other comments are right, this is only half the song. The reason for the ad lib vocal thing is that they let the crowd sing those parts in live versions but in this specific version, the crowd likely wasn't miced up very well.. in other live recordings, you hear the crowd better. In the 90's they used to play a modified version of the song which was only the first half. I generally like when channels react to live versions of songs, this one was just an unlucky choice.
react to Metallica with S&M orchestra... amazing rendition of their heavier tracks with a symphony orchestra. you'll love it
Love the older tallica! Request you ask? Lol
Opeth: Ghost of Perdition: live at Red Rocks Amphitheater
Sepultura: Dead Embryonic Cells: Studio version
Megadeth: Ashes In Your Mouth
Judas Priest: Dreamer/ Deceiver/ Deceiver: Studio version
NeObliviscaris: Forget Not or Eyrie
I don't know if you did it yet but it is a MUST, Creeping Death Moscow 1991! You haven't lived till you've seen a Million + Soviets shout in unison "DEATH!". You wont regret it.
There were around 500,000 people in attendance at Woodstock 1994. Crowd control was becoming an issue, and I guess that the band cut the song short halfway through it. Next time, please react to the lyrics video for this song.
You probably should have checked out the lyric video for your first time listening to this song.
whoooooooo - owwwwwww !! This is heavy metal royalty .. if you want to see how great their songs are , I suggest you watch some videos from Metallica S & M .. ( which is Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony together ) .. Symphony + Metal .. 🔥 🔥 hot
He has the fans sing some part of it
The studio version with lyrics is the best way to listen to metallica for the first time. As others have said. I remember when their first album, "Kill em' all" came out I was a hard core Metallica fan about halfway through that album. That said, I was never crazy about James' vocals live. Also the crowd is not what I want to hear when I want to play some Metallica or any music for the most part. Just my opinion of course. Love the reaction and open mindedness. You gained a sub. By the way, yes this is metal/heavy metal.
Well done, Britt! I don't want to fill you up on suggestions, but there is one you need to do. Metallica- One (official video). Fair warning on this one. It will do a number on your heart and your head. Thank you for another great reaction.
yeh gottado the album Version. Metallica are such an interactive band, they let the crowd sing half the lyrics, btw, u heard a 3rd of the actual song
*Britt* does a pretty good job breaking down music & bars so I was excited when this thumbnail came up. But so disappointed by the video she was suggested or chose
Addiction, (specifically drugs like heroin) took me a while to figure that out too!
Definitely check out the studio version and if you're interested, a bunch more of their music catalog. This Woodstock show does not do them justice. My introduction to Metallica was in about 1992 with the release of the Black album. Much of it isn't as aggressive as older Metallica albums (Master of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, Kill 'Em All, etc.), so it's a good introduction to the band for most people.

They’re tight, there are time changes in some of their songs. It’s like heavy classical music, but, yes, this is heavy metal. You’ll love their song One-but you gotta watch the official video.
Thanks for your reaction. You can also watch the live version from the Québec Magnetic live show (I was in there somewhere)--or the original video (maybe censored, depending of where you live--lots of drugs images in it). Have a nice day. Basically, it's an anti-addiction song, but the point of view is the drug talking to you. Of course, it was a live version--they sometimes change the lyrics on live performances, they hate doing the same things over and over again, or adapt depending of the city where they play. Where I live, there was a riot after one of their shows, so when they come, they give a little extra each time, as a kind of apology for what happened.
I need a woman like you....likes music and avoids the malls. LOL🤣
If you like instrumentals, check out the cover of this song by Gamazda. She does it on piano.
Love Me Some Britt…..ROCK ON!!!!!
Studio version!!!🤣👌
You really should listen to the 80's version of this. This song lives in the 80's and is a beast! This version has no energy compared to what it had when they released it.
This was maybe half of the actual song & hardly any lyrics sung just added to the confusion. You'd like the album version way more. It's about drug addiction, drugs being the "master"
Hey Britt the crowd is singing the part you are talking about
A masterpiece
seen them live twice.
James lets the crowd sing lyrics back to him so any line you aren't hearing is where the crowd are getting involved but maybe the audio quality is off.
thank you
💙💙💙🎼💙💙💙 . The "Master" is the all powerful drug .. the drug controls the person ,
Its been mentioned already, you GOTTA listen to the studio version. This performance here, did NOT do this song justice! SO MUCH you NEED to hear from this song. Including Kirk's solo! But yes, do yourself a favor, find & listen to the studio version. You shall see the difference and feel the power of this song. Until the next time... Take care! 🤘🤘🤘
You should really do studio version of it and also do song fade to black here is story behind the song inspired by a heart-breaking tragedy. The lead singer of the band, James Hetfield, explained that his mother had a hand in helping him pay for an amplifier. Before this album was released his mother passed away and shortly after that amplifier was stolen. “Fade to Black” focuses on a person who has decided the life they are living is not worth the fight. The individual in the song explains the hollow or empty feeling that has taken over their mind and explains that this feeling is similar to a living hell. The song concludes with a message letting whoever is listening know that it was too late for them, and this is goodbye. song Enter sandman but do studio versions also nothing else matters so many great Metallica songs
Metallica had me scared to take my own damn pain meds after surgery ! that’s how good they are. The band, the song and the pain meds, hip replacement sucks. Metallica got me through it🎸💜🥁🔥🥞
It is about drug addiction
You can't hear it well - but this is classic crowd participation song for Metallica .. love your reaction style and personality!
Welcome to a very deep rabbit hole, and to the vast universe that is heavy metal.
Please check out Pantera's We'll grind that axe for a long time, looking forward to more of ur reactions. Support from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
If you like instruments, check out Polyphia - Aviator
It's about heroine
Best one yet,ripper
The song takes you on the ride of the addict hard core heavy hits aching for the next hit. The during the break in the middle Euphoria from the hit soaks in your viens... then back into insanity. The Master is the drug addiction tearing lives apart.
I love your reactions and you look freaking gorgeous and stylish with that perfect ass pointy anime character-looking chin.
I would watch the lyric video to get the full song as I believe that performance was cut short due to time constraints
Definitely metal IMO, BUT I always think genre labels shouldn't be used as boxes. People argue over who is/isn't metal, or what's the first metal band/song/album, and the music doesn't change. All the labels are good for is giving you a clue as to whether you are likely to enjoy someone if you haven't heard them before.
Never a bad time to get into Metallica lol This was only half !!!
Metallica is awesome. Check out Moscow - Enter Sandman. It will blow your mind.
Studio version please
Better to have listened to the album version. Trust me.
Please react to the studio version
Master of Puppets is about Drugs ruling their users and controlling their decisions and behaviors like a puppet master.
No no no baby girl , you only heard half the song you gotta get studio version w/lyrics the solo is a bridge between the conversation Master /Slave = Drug/addicted.THe solo is The slave Satisfied from The High
I think the audience was singing the bits you missed, it was hard to hear in this recording. Also this was woodstock 1999 and was a very different thing compared to the original woodstock. (not in a good way, for more on that watch: Trainwreck: woodstock '99)
Wait until you try ORION by Metallica. Their first four albums are amazing. Always deep af. Beautiful.
You must check out. Ren the UK rapper and singer
Oh you like instrumentation? I got some tracks you might enjoy.
Seattle live 1989 is Metallica in their prime
U should check out pantera cemetery gates if u like this I bet u will love it!!!
Judast Priest: Painkiller (official video) ...please and thank you
Haha, you referenced _Spencer's_ ?
_Hot Topic_ I could understand, but _Spencer's_ ?
You're closer to my age that I first thought!
By the way, this song is about cocaine addiction, and addiction in general.
You definitely need to do the lyric studio version...in this he pauses and lets the crowd sing, that's why you can't hear it all...definitely try again...lol
Try this one
czcams.com/video/xnKhsTXoKCI/video.html
You did react to the hold song ?
If you want good instrumentation listen to "One"!
It's About Drug Abouse
Having reacted to a number of Rock and Metal track and given your penchant for storytelling songs, might I suggest Iron Maiden "the rime of the ancient mariner" based on the poem ofthe same name. Most reactors react to the 1985 live after death performance. czcams.com/video/ulfnJ0E34fU/video.html but several alternatives are out there.
Music to break sht by.
It was literally half the song.
Do Metallica "one" it is actually taught in classical schools!
