I like how good your brocante videos have gotten. You take your time and give us some close and relaxed views of many different types of products (including prices).
Happy New Year! I love antique stores. Years ago, on our way home after a cousin’s wedding, we stopped at a town in Ohio that was filled with antique shops. We picked up some small items in a few of them before going into a somewhat larger store. I was walking ahead of Mom when I turned around and saw a small barrel on a high shelf that had its distillery name on it, which happened to be my mother’s maiden name! I called her over repeatedly until she finally showed up, irritated over my insistence. I just pointed up at the barrel, and her eyes went wide. Best find of the day, and she still has it in pride of place 25 years later.
I enjoy how everytime you and Billy go into a Brocante Billy has such a big smile on his face, you just know he cant wait to but something. Ryan you need to get your own place to fit all the luggage you buy.
Ryan ....I truly mean this with affection..... yesterday I bought 2 rats,as pets, that I've named Ryan and Billy .I was suddenly inspired.. Ryan -is the friskier of the 2.
As someone who loves rats as well, I couldn’t help but laugh that you called one Billy and one Ryan. That is so fitting because the rats that I have owned have all been really smart and sweet tempered and were unbelievable pets. 😄
Ryan...that's a Chinese piece says "Qing dynasty , Qin Long emperor " (大清乾隆 thanks to my 12 years in China) he was the 5th emperor of the Qing dynasty ,from 1711 until 1799. I'm not sure if that piece is valuable, but it definitely looks original and very well made.
i agree it is the Qianlong Emperor (1736-95) lived to be 87. The price realized GBP 288,000. This could have this value; it looks like Ivory, not bone. The quality of the piece is far better than many seen online. It is priced well. If you want to learn more Prime video or CZcams has the series (Story of Yanxi Palace) over 70 x 40-minute parts. Very informitive of the time.
Oh, here I am just recognizing clothing styles and hazarding a guess, but I didn't think to actually just read it! I'm glad you did, and at least my weird eclectic fashion history knowledge was correct. XD
Can't believe how happy I am when you, Billy, and Michael put up a video. I have 27 yo twins sons and a 17 yo son. I try to imagine them being as capable as you all are.
Part 2 of your brocante shopping. More interesting items. Billy should have bought the Chinese emperor?? Love the old handbags. Could be designer ones too. And the old estate jewelry. Stay safe Ryan and stay safe.
Ryan, Billy my friends. I love the antique mirror. The Chinese statue is beautiful. Lots of interesting antique items. Love shopping with you two. See ya tomorrow. Take care and stay safe 🎈🍺🍺❤️🕊🌹👍😇🌈🇺🇸🙏🌞
Nice shopping with you two in the French brocantes. We don’t have the nicer items in US shops. Loved the ornate mirrors and especially loved the sole candelabra close to the Chinese piece you and Billy were inspecting. Thank you. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I liked some of the chairs and the couch with all the purses. My mom died and I have about 4 of the beaded style purses. She traveled all over in her lifetime, now I see some of the purses there, so must have got them on her European vacations she was on nearly yearly as soon as we we kids were all in college.
Love your jaunts to the antique shops with Billy, Ryan. I particularly like the figurative, cast metal lamp bases. I’ve made stained glass lampshades for them for the bedrooms. We’ve lost most of our antique shops in my town whereas at one time we had quite a few. Fantastic video.
Ryan, I wish you lived in the states! We had to throw away so many big, old, trunks from the old days when nuns came with their trunks because no one, including the antique stores wanted them! We would have given them to you!
Love the antiques shop! Better than the ones in my area in the US. You guys are like 2 kids in a candy store in there! Lol love the videos keep them coming!
Emperors have Empresses. :) I liked the desk a lot. It's unusual. I prefer more drawers in a desk. You need places to put your desk-related things, like paper and pens. Though not sure if you're buying to resell or use. Fun trip. Thanks!
The artifact was not actually all that old, compared to most of Chinese history, I suspect. From the clothing, I'd guess it's a representation of a Qing Dynasty ruler, which puts it anywhere from 1636 to 1912, and from the style I'd say it's probably on the newer side of that.
The inscription on the base of the Chinese artifact translates (according to Google translator app) "Big Job" (line 1) and "Qing Business" (line 2). I wonder if the "Qing Business" is the name of the carver?
Oh Ryan, I love that leather chair, too bad it wasn't leather throughout! I love the desk too! I really like following you and Billy around the Brocantes....your comments are right on the mark!
What I liked best was a glimpse of a woman wearing a red beret. I have such a beret myself, so I felt as if I were there with you. I enjoy the old furniture, but it is no longer practical in most cases. You always have to consider scale. If you have a big room with a high ceiling, you can have big furniture. Small space, small furniture.
Ryan, when you both go Brocanting, I feel like I have shopped. Yes you have good taste, do you sell what you buy? The chest and everything you both look at is nice. I had seen a video on moving things, you simply must bubble wrap several times, then box the item and then hang on a rail so that the glass is not near anything else. The show was about moving the wealthy. I wish I knew the title, I would share. Well as usual, enjoyed the video, Happy New Year, blessings to you all!!!
Bonne année Ryan ! Surtout bonne Santé pour poursuivre toutes les aventures aussi bien au Couvent que dans tes projets personnels 👍🏻 Les vidéos de brocantes sont intéressantes et surprenantes ! Merci ! À bientôt ! 🌸🌸🌸
The first desk would be my pick for you. You seemed very taken with it. Could you put it in your office at the convent? Could you transport it in Billy's truck?
Fun antique shopping! Have you moved from Billy's place to live with your parents? Please do a tour of your parents home and grounds? It would be so interesting learning the history of your parents place? Wishing you well! Happy New Year!
Ryan, you have a preoccupation with trunks and desk, with the odd chair or mirror, thrown in…… However, you skim past, some really exciting pieces, can you slow down ?
The video cuts out right as you say billy has found a statue then it cuts to u leaving Billy’s chateau which was the same footage as the previous video
Do the brocantes arrange delivery locally? Or overseas? Could you ask them about that when you visit! I loved the Emperor! I still think the desks are stunning. Maybe with some padding to protect the glass? And if the glass is not original, it would be okay to replace it? Thank you for the video!
The Chinese empress looks brand new to me, at least over the Internet. The Chinese have been flooding the markets with reproductions for the last 20 years, so you have to be extremely careful and investing in Chinese art today.
I'm not positive, but the Chinese "Emperor" and "Empress" would be the Chinese God of Heaven, and the Empress would be the Queen mother of the West. Later you have a porcelain statue of a Chinese man holding a baby and that would be the Chinese god of longevity. About a foot away is a really strange version statue of Kwan Yin. I was recently at one of my local Christian thrift stores and was ecstatic to find a hand-carved soapstone state of Kwan Yin! Of course I bought her and she now sits in a "shrine" in my living room.
Hey Ryan! I don't know if anyone else noticed this but did you get a new camera? The video seems a bit more clearer. Its hard to explain. Videos were never blurry but they seemed to have had a movie quality instead of a real life feel to them. I actually like this way of recording more. I'll end this comment by saying Happy New Year and wish the best for you and your family! :)
I love how the chairs have clothes draped over them, so I know what it would look like in my house. 😂
I LOVE watching what's in your Antique shops.. Way better then America antique shops! Thanks for sharing MORE ANTIQUE SHOPS!!!!

Love it when and Billy go treasure hunting.Loved watching Ryan😘
Ryan ....I truly mean this with affection..... yesterday I bought 2 rats,as pets, that I've named Ryan and Billy .I was suddenly inspired.. Ryan -is the friskier of the 2.
Please put them in separate places every so often so they don’t get cheeky. One of these Lads would be enough, but no, you had to get the pair.
As someone who loves rats as well, I couldn’t help but laugh that you called one Billy and one Ryan. That is so fitting because the rats that I have owned have all been really smart and sweet tempered and were unbelievable pets. 😄

I wish the set was there Empress Xiaoyichun or Empress Xiaoxianchun
I actually laughed when Ryan stated they were probably a million a piece. I wanted him to 🛑 and check them over.
Oh, here I am just recognizing clothing styles and hazarding a guess, but I didn't think to actually just read it! I'm glad you did, and at least my weird eclectic fashion history knowledge was correct. XD
He was my pick, beautiful.. I would have to buy him!
Can't believe how happy I am when you, Billy, and Michael put up a video. I have 27 yo twins sons and a 17 yo son. I try to imagine them being as capable as you all are.
I think you should get the desk and put it in your office at the convent
I liked the dresser in this video! I hope you can purchase your own home in the near future, and furnish it with lovely antiques like that dresser!
I love these old antique places. Fantastic items. ❤🐨
Part 2 of your brocante shopping. More interesting items. Billy should have bought the Chinese emperor?? Love the old handbags. Could be designer ones too. And the old estate jewelry. Stay safe Ryan and stay safe.
Really like that desk you like too. Very nice!
Happy New Year to you too Ryan. Lovely to see you both out and about. Yeah transporting glass mmmmm tricky, tricky, tricky….loving the desk though ❤🎉😁

I loved the desk, too.
Yes !! Enjoyed the brocante video. Desks are fabulous.
LOL Ryan must have had a technical issue, using the sign off from the previous brocante video.
Nice shopping with you two in the French brocantes. We don’t have the nicer items in US shops. Loved the ornate mirrors and especially loved the sole candelabra close to the Chinese piece you and Billy were inspecting. Thank you. Happy New Year!
Loved the 2nd desk.
Loved the drop leaf desk
I can’t get enough of your perfect French
Happy New Year! I liked some of the chairs and the couch with all the purses. My mom died and I have about 4 of the beaded style purses. She traveled all over in her lifetime, now I see some of the purses there, so must have got them on her European vacations she was on nearly yearly as soon as we we kids were all in college.
Happy New Year Ryan...I loved all the nice pieces you were looking at...it's hard to choose, I know...lol.

Love all the travel trunks
Love these excursions into the local antique shops. That desk with the red leather was gorgeous!
I always love your brocante hunts and I was happy you showed the handbags as I am addicted to those. 😊 I loved the Chinese carving.
So much fun, I want to go shopping with you guys!
Love the antiques shop! Better than the ones in my area in the US. You guys are like 2 kids in a candy store in there! Lol love the videos keep them coming!
I LOVE that Chinese statue Billy picked up. Too expensive though I think.
Thanks Ryan. Always a pleasure to follow your adventures, especially through the antique shops.
The brocantes have so much stuff in them it feels overwhelming but if you take your time I bet you find lots of cool stuff. Happy New Year Ryan!
Emperors have Empresses. :) I liked the desk a lot. It's unusual. I prefer more drawers in a desk. You need places to put your desk-related things, like paper and pens. Though not sure if you're buying to resell or use. Fun trip. Thanks!
Enjoyed.
Love seeing these antique shopping vids! loved those mirrors and secretary with marble top! Happy New Year!
That was fun thank you. That was a very puggy merman yikes 😳. I still like the first desk.
Happy New Year 🎆 🎉

Hi Ryan, I enjoyed your video, I realllllly think that Billy should of bought that large piece.
Fill your office in the convent with all the antiques you have purchased it would make a posh office
I wish I was there with you. There's so many nice things I can buy
Happy New Year Ryan! 🎉🎊
I enjoyed the vlog as always. I loved the first desk. I can't wait until you can buy things for your own place.
Happy New Year! and Many Bargains!
The inscription on the base of the Chinese artifact translates (according to Google translator app) "Big Job" (line 1) and "Qing Business" (line 2). I wonder if the "Qing Business" is the name of the carver?
There was a black cat statue I really liked.

I think you’ll find much better deals for antiques on Le Bon Coin. The Brocante are extremely overpriced. Cheers!
Love the pram

Make it simple, pay extra to have the shop deliver. Love all the desks
The first desk would be my pick for you. You seemed very taken with it. Could you put it in your office at the convent? Could you transport it in Billy's truck?
Happy new year Ryan 💖💖💖
Happy New year Ryan🎉❤
Happy New Year Ryan good vlog 😂
We like the same things Ryan👍
Fun antique shopping! Have you moved from Billy's place to live with your parents? Please do a tour of your parents home and grounds? It would be so interesting learning the history of your parents place? Wishing you well! Happy New Year!
I could spend hours in those secondhand shops just like you say rummaging around in them Happy New Year Ryan ❤
Japanese vases !
Yes they were . I spotted that too.
I wonder if that statue was a carved ivory tusk? Those poor elephants ...
😊😊
Got any cool furniture for your office yet?
Fun video Ryan. I would wait until you have your own place before buying large pieces of furniture. Happy New Year. xx
When you find Leather Handbags also looks for Hermes, Berkin or Louis Vuitton those are the Handbags women want especially in the U.S.
Fun finds! Did Billy buy the statue?
Ryan, you have a preoccupation with trunks and desk, with the odd chair or mirror, thrown in…… However, you skim past, some really exciting pieces, can you slow down ?
Did you use the same footage for the brocante two videos at the end? Of course you did. ❤You Ryan.
👍❤️
Very unique statue of the Emperor of China. Never seen one of those before. Did you ever find out how old it was?
大清乾隆 Qing dynasty QianLong emperor..super cool
What did you Buy 🤔🤔
Did you buy anything?
Is the 450 Chinese Emperor made of cast RESIN ?
The Chinese empress looks brand new to me, at least over the Internet. The Chinese have been flooding the markets with reproductions for the last 20 years, so you have to be extremely careful and investing in Chinese art today.

What on earth is the fixation on trunks about?
