im running 3 asus sabertooth 990fx r2 motherboards with fx 8350s in them. the oldest one is up and running since i bought it new in 2013 with no issues. it was originally running 3x sli gtx 780sc cards but 2 of them have died since. the newest one i built from a new MB and CPU (bought in 2015 as backups and never used til now)just a month ago i put an rtx 3060 into. i have a Gigabyte GA-78LMT and an ASUS M5A78L-M Plus and a Biostar A960G+ with cpus and ram for projects. i really loved the am3+ platform. one of the machines has been on since 2013 and the last 2 years it has been in my garage in Phoenix Az as my CNC controller pc with no problems due to the watercooled cpu. i never clean them they just keep chuggin away. bulletproof machines.

Hello friend, thank you for the video. I have a question about am3+ motherboards. I have an old am3+ motherboard system with an FX-8370 processor but the motherboard is now dead. So I am undecided to buy a used am3+ motherboard because some people say that it's really not worth spending money. I have a limited budget and cannot afford for am4 motherboards nowadays. If I buy an am4 motherboard, I also need to upgrade the other components as well. So far, I haven't had a problem with my am3+ system and I have been using the system mostly for programming, researching and watching some movies. What do you think? Thanks!

id see if there are any dirt cheap local ones otherwise go am4 all the way

there are only second hand motherboards for AM3+ and they are very expensive. unless you can find cheap ones like Daytimerocker says, then only it's worth keeping this architecture.

@@allenperera6158 new and openbox boards are available still. just have to look. i have been building machines with this platform for a decade because its bulletproof when quality parts are used. i have a brand new sabertooth 990fx and a brand new fx8350 with 2400 mhz corsair vengeance pro ram in a corsair 220t case with platinum seasonic psu and a new evga 3060 in it. you pay alot for new however there are alot of reviewers getting rid of 10 year old used once parts out there. i found my last board for $160 just avoid the ones claiming open box from china. i believe those are a scam and have chips added to them for backdoors.

Not to mention the asrock board praised for vrm heatsinks while the image shown is lacking.
Have the asus sabertooth r3 and an 8350, oc's amazingly and as you said, has m.2!
