Hi James! I planted a small Washingtonia Robusta last summer, and protected it during our worst freezing weather in Mississippi. The fronds turned brown, and it did “spear pull.” I’ve cut the trunk back to about 7 or 8 inches tall, and I can see the growth bud. I cleaned it out and poured some hydrogen peroxide in it. The bud is firm and healthy-looking. What are the chances it will produce new growth this summer?
Good for you in the warm checking out palms. Mine I planted in november have 3 leaves now but pretty good for New Jersey!
