I uncovered mine yesterday,the trachys look great as always but my sabal minors I dunno,I overwinter them the same way as the trachys but every spring the fronds look dried out or something and I end up trimming them off with pretty much all the old growth gone.Any idea how I can prevent this?
I considered it before. I’ve just got enough already, and I like the two species that I have they grow a little taller and look like palm trees a little sooner.
When I see nighttime Low’s going well below the freezing point -5-6 Celsius a cover them up prior to that usually. First frost is around Halloween first hard freeze sometime in November or early December.

Looks awesome. I opened mine up last weekend (I’m on lake Simcoe). We’re getting down to -2 with some snow on Wednesday, can’t get up there to box them you think they’ll be okay?

Have you ever considered getting a Mediterranean fan palm in the ground?

2 questions...1) at what temp will you cover up at night and 2) when will you first fertilize? Tks james
