    Would you please let us know, when you place a zipper onto the hooped stabilizer, if the zipper is right side up or right side down; whether the right side of the zipper pull us facing you or facing to the stabilizer. I did finally figure it out by fast forwarding the vid to catch a glimpse of its positioning. Your vids are still some of the best tutorials out there!

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Maura, the zipper is always placed the right side up on the stabilizer. I have never come across a zipper that has been placed wrong side up on a design. The reason it is always placed the right side up is because you will always have to open the zipper before adding the backing fabric to be able to turn it out the right way, you couldn't do this if it was wrong side up but yes no problem I will mention this in any future videos I do with a zipper. Happy stitching.

      You're welcome Elain. I think there are a couple of different sizes in the file, usually there is a 6x8 version in most of the KK designs. I love the glasses case, my glasses have one and my mobile phone as one too. They would make great cutlery covers as well for Xmas table.

      Hi Lisa, no you can skip those bits if you like. There is this one instead without any fancy stitching at all and it has a more masculin alphabet.

    Is it possible to use an invisible zipper when making bags like this? Thank you. And thanks for another helpful video. Your videos are very well presented and clear.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 6 lety +1

      You are welcome Margaret. The answer to your question is I have never done one but I don't see why not as the stitching goes right the way around the perimeter to hold it all together so it would hold the fabric no matter how high you positioned it. If you cut your fabric a little bit longer to take into account positioning it little a bit higher, in fact measure it as you might not even need to add any extra you need half an inch seam allowance to work with. I would suggest you try it, after all you are only moving the fabric up to meet right in the middle of the zip aren't you? If that's the case then yes it would work. I would also keep the felt or batting each side of the zip still, to reduce any bulk over the zipper which would allow the fabric to lay nice and flat. Let me know how you get on wont you.

    Kay I really enjoy your videos. You do a wonderful job of explaining the instructions. Question, do you use a software program to do your monogram or does the pattern come with the alphabet if you don’t have software? How could you do the monogram procedure if a person does not have software? Thank you.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 3 lety +1

      The bag comes with all 26 letters so no need for software, just pick the bag panel with your chosen letter and stitch it. I hope this helps.

      Hi Phyllys, in what respect is it not the same? Sometimes I might show an alternative way of doing things but I dont stray far from the path. The steps are the same.

      @phyllyscurrie6586 Před 5 lety

      Kays Cutz - hi flower. I have now stitched this out and I need to take my comments back. As I am new to embroidery I always think we have to do it EXACTLY as the instructions say. However having watched the video I see that you can do it slightly different. Your video has helped me enormously.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 5 lety

      You're welcome Phyllys. There are many ways of doing things and over time you learn to adapt them tosuit your own ways. I like to show different and alternative ways of doing things so because what works for one person might not for another. I am pleased the vid has helped you. Happy stitching!

      Kays Cutz - the video is brilliant and made me understand things that I would never have done. It has also made me realise I need to relax more in my thinking - I over think things.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 5 lety

      That's easily done Phyllys I think we are all guilty of that. The main thing to remember is that designs are there not only to be stitched but to be changed and turned into other things. If you watch my Large seashell video you will see what I mean by this as I take a placemat and turn it into a bathroom catchall it's also about have fun and enjoying what you are making.

    Can this be lined front and back, if so how do it please 🤞🏻

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Sandra I think you could. The easiest way I can think of is to cut two extra front pieces that will become your liner and add them lining on the back side of the hoop in exactly the same way and at the same time that you add the front fabrics so at 3:45 minutes on the video timeline then again at 4:37 minutes. I would also use a matching bobbin for the stitching too as all the decorative stitching, it will show on the lining fabric as well as this design hasn't been digitized for a lining. Make sure you tape your lining pieces down properly so it cant get screwed up underneath your hoop while it is stitching everything down. For the back I would cut my backing fabric twice and place the first one face down as instructed at 8:41 minutes and the second piece facing upwards ( that one will be the lining) on top of the first on the front side of your hoop, ( You could if you wanted to add some batting in between these two pieces of fabric and it would become padded both back and front) then tape and stitch as instructed. I hope this makes sense. Happy stitching, please do post a pic on Kreative Kiwi's F acebook group when you have made it. I would love to see how you get on with it. Happy stitching. facebook.com/groups/kreativekiwi/

      Hi Lari, when you unzip the file do you open it with any software? If you do this can cause problems and alter the file,. It should be unzipped placed on a USB key and loaded directly into your machine.
      Have you accidentally flipped the file on your embroidery machine? This is a simple remedy just flip it back again.
      Can you see the file design in your file explorer? If not download this free plugin software and set your view to maximum in the window you unzip the file in and check to see if you can see any back to front. www.freesierrasoftware.com/site/
      Have you tried re-downloading the file from your Kreative Kiwi account? It is perfectly possible for files to become corrupted during download.
      If none of the above work, can you describe what you do from download to putting the file on your embroidery machine so I can go through it to try to see what is going on.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  Před 4 lety

      OK is your computer a windows machine? If so download the free software in this link to view the embroidery files from your computer then you will be able to see the file and which way round it is www.freesierrasoftware.com/site/
