    Thank you so much for this very detailed tutorial. I searched and searched and watched dozens of these and the instruction was either too fast with no explanation, or the person just wasn't very clear in what they were doing. Specifically, I was looking for help on the ironing/interfacing part. I really appreciate the time you took to do this, Angela!

      Hi Charmaine. This video was made in 2017 I really don't know what color the thread was but I bought this bulk thread back then so most likely and silver/grey in here. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZSD5EC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This bag is made exactly the same no matter what size you pick. So this 5x7 bag steps would be the same for the 6x10 bag.

    I really enjoyed your tutorial for these reasons:
    #1 - you were very clear with your instructions
    #2 - you had no problem sharing your templates
    #3 - you had no problem showing the software steps, which is what I was searching for
    #4 understanding ALL the steps helps you to troubleshoot when you get into trouble, which is usually the case for me....LOL
    There are all kinds/types of video’s that show the steps of the “in the hoop” process, but no steps explaining the software and what it is doing; this piece of info is rare to find....I would love to have more info how you designed the steps in the software; I’m a “end to end” type person. Do you have a video on this too?

I didn't create the actual bag, Jen at Parker on the Porch is the digitizer. There are great groups out there though I think you need Stitch Artist to digitize in embrilliance software so there are FB Groups for this software. facebook.com/groups/stitchartistqa/ maybe try this one.

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 4 lety

      nope only if you want to add or change files. the designs you buy will stitch just fine without software. It's hard to see the steps on the little screen on the PE770 (I started with this machine) so I did get Embrilliance right away as it easier to look on your computer screen if your not sure what is stitching next but it is not required to run any files unless your merging design or changing design!

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 5 lety +1

      sherrylynn7771 so if your adding a strap directly to the bag you need to add it right before you put the back of your bag on and the ends of the straps need to be placed at the top of the bag with the rest(majority) of strap being inside the bag. (Remember excess get cut off around the bag so your stuff has to be inside your bag it will flip later. Whatever print or side of the strap that you want to see on the front of your bag will be placed face down on your bag. So technically right sides together. Hope that helps!!

  • @patriciaclements9457

    I know you tore away the stabilizer around the outside when you removed the bag from the hoop, but does the rest of the tear-away stabilizer stay inside the bag after it is turned?

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 5 lety

      Patricia Clements yes it stays inside when you make a enclosed bag if you make the exposed seams it all comes out.

      @@angelaperry5555 Thank you for your quick response. Two more questions: Does the stabilizer add body to the back of the bag of to the front? Does one of your tutorials show a bag made with exposed seams?

    • @patriciaclements9457
      @patriciaclements9457 Před 5 lety

      I watched again and see that the stabilizer is attached to the front. Is there a noticeable difference between front and back when the bag is completed? I do like the bag, by the way.

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 5 lety

      Patricia Clements the stabilizer is in the front of the bag. Depending on what stabilizer you use will determine how it feels I just use med weight tear away. When I make it I fold the fabric in half too so I technically have 4 layers of fabric on the front side of the bag with the front and liner, so the stabilizer doesn’t bother me. I do have several exposed seam videos as well but they will all be vinyl. If you go to my channel I have over 60 tutorials for in the hoop projects designed by Parker on the Porch. Woven fabric frays so really needs to be enclosed seams when using fabric.

    does anyone else have issues with the PES file on the 5X7 bag? It days the lay down, zipper lines are fine, I get my top bottom section fabric down just fine, but when I get to the top top section my machine keeps trying to stitch in the zipper. Looking at the stitch out in Embrillance it stitches out just fine. So I'm not sure if something is wrong with he file on my USB or if something is wrong with my machine...

      Sorry for the delay was in Japan for 2 weeks. I have had this happen to me once and one person in the Parker on the Porch group described a similar problem once. The only thing that fixed mine was to trash the project and start over no matter what I did rebooting machine reloading the file nothing helped but just starting over and it did not do it again. I know that is no help lol I was not thrilled either I tam chalking it up to being bumped or something!

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 5 lety

    Can you tell me the type of interfacing you used? Had a hard time seeing with my glasses. Also, wouldn't it be recommended to use pinking shears to help prevent fraying on the inside?

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 7 lety

      shellyrdodge I used lightweight fusible interfacing. The bag is completely enclosed there are no exposed seams on this bag so no pinking shears are needed.

    • @shellyrdodge
      @shellyrdodge Před 7 lety

      Where did you get it from? Reason I asked about the pinking shears if that when we make stuff for sugar gliders we use them to help ensure the fabric won't get pulled up through the seam if we are using a woven fabric.

      @angelaperry5555  Před 7 lety

      Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Didn't notify me. I get mine at Joanns www.joann.com/pellon-8-yd-ultra-lightweight-fusible-interfacing-by-the-bolt/12005096.html#q=lightweight%2Bfusible%2Binterfacing&start=1

    I've only just got my embroidery machine and I'm a little confused. Embrilliance is the software for the bag pattern? or only for the letters? Can you use this software with any embroidery machine? I have a Brother NQ1400e -- will it work with this machine?

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 6 lety

      Michele Dubois software is beneficial for adding stuff to a pattern you purchased. You do not need software to run a pattern you bought you only need software to add words or merge designs together! Yes embrillance Essentials will work on your machine. There are other softwares as well this is the one I bought and enjoy.

    After watching a dozen of your tutorials, I'm currently trying this pouch now, however after completing it, the bag is stitched and sealed all the way round so can't turn through. I seen this happening but carried on. This is my first ever in the hoop project so any idea where I've went wrong? X

    • @sm1lerno1
      @sm1lerno1 Před 4 lety

      So I’ve watched again and looks like the last step leaves the gap to turn. Think I made that many mistakes that I prob done early steps twice resulting in it closing completely. Will try again!

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 4 lety

      There are two steps that determine the opening. You must open your zipper right before you put the back of the bag down when you run this step it does completely enclose your bag but your zipper is open which is a hole. On the very last step you add your liner to the underneath of your hoop. This step leaves an opening at the bottom of your bag. Your turn through this lining hole and then you turn through your zipper hole. Hope this helps!

      I haven't ever hit the zipper so i'm not sure. make sure to line up your zipper teeth on that middle line and should not hit it ever!

    • @angelaperry5555
      @angelaperry5555  Před 6 lety

      Sorry I just saw this. Your needle shouldn't ever hit your zipper teeth if your lining it up between those 2 placement lines. Just make sure you are between those to placement lines and tape your end to keep it there maybe it's moving.
