Cleaned it today morning, I didn't dare to remove fans but I've cleaned them carefully. Temps dropped from 60-70 C with turbo boost disabled down to 49 to 47 turbo disabled. GPU is very quiet after cleaning. Thank you bro

Wait what, 60-70 while gaming? I used to have 90+ when it was new but it worked fine , but now after two years and a half I have a lot of thermal throttling
How did you do it without removing the fans?
@@markanthonylaron6934 I didn't remove fans.

I generally clean everything much more thoroughly but still never touched the CPU and GPUs...I somehow just manage to get the fans from underneath the copper vents. Last time I took out so much and I was kinda scared and overwhelmed and took me a long time to put everything back together. So here I am on youtube trying to find a better way for cleaning now that I'll clean tomorrow.
🫠Regarding your servicing, if you follow the video step by step and don't rush you will be more than fine, and will have serviced the CPU and GPU for better performance.

Thank you. I just recently cleaned up my laptop and found out the GPU fan was barely working. I just installed new fans. And I'm totally noob with this. Thanks to this, I didn't panic and I think all went well, although... The front edge won't close, no matter what I tried. I guess it's alright though. I tried to prioritize closing the front edge but it doesn't click at the center and I see no damage there. I guess this is just that stubborn with me.
Now I'm just scared of turning it back on XD
It's truly a pleasure, my friend.😊 I deeply appreciate your taking the time to provide feedback. If you're inclined to support the channel further, feel free to like and subscribe-or even both!
regarding the front side case not closing, make sure the audio cable (black and red cable) are tucked far from the edge, that cable sometimes comes loose from the plastic rails and can prevent the cover from closing, so move that cable and then pinch real hard the cover till it makes a snap click, else if you don't close it also nothing is going to happen, the laptop will still be working fine.
Should you have any other questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

I'm struggling to put the cover back on after cleaning it, mainly the bottom part being extremely difficult to close again. The top and sides were easy but the bottom is almost impossible. If I force it too hard I feel it might break. I decided to just place the screws in again as i physically cannot clamp it together atm. Overall, amazing vid :)
I had the same problem and the solution was you have to clamp the bottom part first before any other sides
@@KelvinAnderson-vl6yw Agreed. Also to remove the back cover I find it more easy with the bottom first. No need tool, just finger nails.
Same the I can’t put it back the back and sides was easy but the front noo I used all my strength nothing happened

regarding your question: never use thermal glue, and thermal compound won't help, use a thermal pad get .5mm sheet and cut and stack them till you see fit.
I need to replace the keyboard on my Asus Tuf Gaming FX505DU laptop. Do I need soldering to replace it? Do you have any video of replacing the keyboard? Thank you for answering in advance.
🫠If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, replacing the keyboard on your laptop, you will need to remove entire motherboard and everything inside, and remove the revits.
here is a example of how to replace the keyboard for this types of laptops.

Hey! My laptop keeps making this whirring or grinding noise from my GPU fan. When I hover my hand over the keys I can feel it vibrating. Even after cleaning, the issue is still present. Is my fan broken and need of replacement? Is this another issue? I am completely unfamiliar with fixing a laptop. Another concern is that my laptop looks a bit different despite it reading as an FX505D. The heat sinks (copper bars?) look different and so does the left side of my GPU. Any help is extremely appreciated, thank you!
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, we do get this issue in the store a lot, i highly recommend you to get new pair of fans from aliexpress and change them.
there are many reversion of this models and the heatsinks are different on reversions, check the fan model that is imprinted on the fans and look for that model on aliexpress, if you need help finding let me know.
cheers🍻
Thanks for this! I don't have thermal paste so I didn't remove the fans but the amount of gunk I removed was unholy. I hope I didn't start a new epidemic
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your issue, if you managed to remove the gunk, you can use it, but if you have gunk pilled up that means that the thermal paste must be very very defiantly dry, i highly recommend you to replace it.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
cheers🍻
@@uFixTek thank you for responding! I'm planning on replacing it as soon as I get my hands on some thermal paste. I'm not sure I can find the copper cleaning solution anywhere, though
It's my pleasure my friend. don't worry about the copper cleaner, just replace the paste and you be more than fine.

@@uFixTek thank you again i will subscribe. I understand how to dismantle fan and heatsink. But how can I clean the dust inside the fan. Should I wash with water or just clean with brush or something?
Oh don't put water or wash with water!! use a tooth brush and air compressor to blow and clean or use a cotton tip to clean. i use a toothbrush. you can use a isopropyl alcohol 90%+ with cotton tip to clean but don't put water!
Great video.. i have a question, do I need to put thermal paste if i remove the components? What if I only take out the fans and clean them and put everything back, would everything still be fine?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, if you lift the heatsink (separate it from motherboard) then you will HAVE TO clean the old paste and apply new paste. but if you just cleaning the fans without removing the heatsink then you fine.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
cheers🍻
@@uFixTek thanks mate.. for now I have closed it back without it.. I will buy the paste and apply it asap..
Oki, yes get that ASAP and apply it.
One question, what are the components that you used the extra thermal gel on? What is the reasoning behind that, do they get very hot as well? This is the first time I've seen someone do that, just curious.
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, i do repair electronics laptops and much more for over 17 years and the reason we place a thermal putty or gel on the components is that those components do tend to get hot and can get damaged with over heating and the laptop wont turn on, it has nothing to do on performance it has everything to do with long lasting. i recommend you to get a thermal putty on aliexpress and place it on vram and the components around under heat sink.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
@@uFixTek how bad is it if you don’t have paste at all? Mine appears to have come off completely and I don’t currently have any to replace it. Will the laptop run in the short term? Thanks!
Where can I buy those gel? Since you cannot put thermal paste on vrams and vrms?

I upgraded my laptop yesterday , but one of the screws of heatsink(screw -8) is too tight and had deformed plus symbol(plus symbol on the screw is washed off ) due to which the screw driver cannot fit in with a proper grip , Is there any method to open it . I'm afraid to apply pressure on it , as it is directly above the cpu.

regarding your question: i would recommend you to use extra force don't worry it won't damage the gpu or cpu, press firmly and do a slow rotation, if that did not work then i recommend you to make a cut in the middle and use a flat head screwdriver, here is a short video: czcams.com/video/xLt6dMIsO9E/video.html
try WD-40

@@uFixTek I'm glad you replied 🙏🏻. In my country, unfortunately K5 pro (and other thermal putty brands 🥲) is not available locally. So I thought I can replace it with thermal pad from Cooler Master since it is available and quite famous among technicians here. The Cooler Master thermal pads has the same thermal conductivity though, but I hasn't changed it yet because I don't know the thickness I supposed to use on my laptop. Once again, thank you very much 😉👍.
i would highly advise you NOT to use pads on were the thermal gel is used!, the reason that they used the thermal gel and not pad is because of two reasons:
1. the distance is not even.
2. the xclamp are not firm enough to squish the pads down.
IF you use the pads, you will be counter pushing away the heatsink from the CPU, and it will results on bad temps and crashes.
get the thermal putty from aliexpress they ship everywhere.
@@uFixTek Yeah, the third reason is what I've been concerning about using thermal pad, because when I touch the pads even the 0,5 mm is a bit on the tougher side. Imagine I used it with the wrong thickness it would be a long term issue. Recently surfed the internet and found Upsiren U6 Pro, it said "thermal putty for thermal pad replacement". I think I'll be considering that since it's cheaper (shipping included, I think it's either from China or Singapore) and I'm also into PC building, thank you very much for the suggestion 🙏🏻.
oki awesome and i wish you the best,
It's my pleasure my friend.
Hello, I was wondering what's the current gpu and cpu temp of this laptop after you put the new thermal paste. Did it improve? And btw, what are cpu and gpu model of this one??
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: i have mentioned the CPU and GPU model @0:30 (rayzen 7 and 1660gtx), and about the temps THE gpu before repaste full load: 95C after repaste full load 82C, CPU before 84C full load, after 75c full load.
@@uFixTek I'm going to repaste after almost 2 years since I bought it. I'm gonna use your video as a guide. Big help my friend!! Keep it up!
much appreciate your support and you will see the difference and you will want to do your service once a year, its like a car you need to do your oil change to keep it in optimal conditions.
if you have any question or request in the future feel free to ask me.
@@uFixTek Yes, I will. Thanks again bro!
oki brother
what's the scew size for the heat sink?

Can I still upgrade the ryzen cpu to the latest gen?
Thank you for your feedback! If you'd like to support the channel, you can either like, subscribe, or do both!
Regarding your question, unfortunately, upgrading the CPU is not feasible in this case because the CPU is soldered onto the motherboard and is not removable. Even if you were to attempt to desolder and replace it, you would also need to replace other essential components on the motherboard such as power regulators and capacitors, which makes it impractical and not possible.
If you have any more questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Hi! I want to know, is it ok to change the thermal gel with thermal paste on the VRAM?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both! Regarding your question, please in the name of your jesus dont , just go on aliexpress and get any thermal putty and use that, NO THERMAL PASTE please, unless you want to get sudden shutdowns and no poweron
@@uFixTek Well, I dont want to buy any special putty if you say that the VRAM's dont get hot anyway. I just wanted to know becauze I saw some other tutorials that put thermal paste on the VRAM's and I wasn't sure about it. I'll just leave the thermal gel there
yes just leave the stock gel on it and that is all, you be more than fine, as you are not going to be overclocking the vrams anyways
@@uFixTek I did the upgrade yesterday. I change the thermal paste and put 8 more GB's of ram. No more thermal throttling and more stable fps. Thanks for the advice, I was acually planing to remove the thermal gel but I found your video in time.
awesome job my friend 🍻

hi there,a question,a few days ago i decided to clean the interior from dust and i wanted to take out te coolers too.The cooler from the right didn t had a problem when i tryied to remove the fan itself for cleaning but when i tried with the left cooler the fan wasn t removeble,i coudn t take it out..The question beeng, the fan from the left cooler is removeble or not?(im worried to force it or something, without knowing)
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: yes both rams are removable and only after removing the heatsink , because the fan has a plastic arm that goes under the heatsink. so remove the heatsink and then the fan pull them out.
Is 4 gramm thermal paste enough ? Or should i get more
😊Regarding your question, the 4g is more than enough.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Ok so I got everything ready and started to take out the 8 heat sink screws. Got 7 out and the last one was apparently super stripped from the factory. I tried everything Google suggested to get the stripped screw out with zero luck. Putting the rest back in 2 more stripped and won’t tighten. The screws must be made of the cheapest material possible. So now my laptop is busted because the heatsinks are loose! What should I do?!??!!?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question:don't worry you fine :) its very common because they don't place the screw by hand or screw driver they use automatic screw driver and thats why mostly the treads go in sideways. the only way to remove them without removing the mobo or anything , its to isolate with tape and make a nice insertion over the screw and use a flat head screw driver to remove like butter :P
i use a this in the shop to make a cut you can buy a cheap version: amzn.to/3k0NuQm
cheap version: amzn.to/3Lc5VNJ
for e.g here is a screw i remove same issue: czcams.com/video/UaMO0sH45VI/video.html
check after min: 5:00
and to replace the screw buy a m.2 screw kit

yes make sure you make a straight deep cut, deep enough for a flat head screw driver. much appreciate your support my friend :)
@@uFixTek ok so I went and bought a Dremel kit locally. What attachment did you use? It came with a metal cutting disc but it seems kind of thick. I’m afraid it’s too big.
its 1mm think the metal cutting disk, don't worry just make a deep cut, use medium speed

@@uFixTek Double checked my fan connections unplugged and plugged back in, Asus loading screen and then preparing automatic repair pops up but i brought it in to my local guys to check out so i'll update you on what happened but what do you think is wrong?
its for sure your HDD or System that is faulty my friend not the motherboard or anything. let me know
@@uFixTek apparently from the mother fuckers at geek squad i need a whole new motherboard? The only thing i might of done wrong was add a bit too much thermal paste can that even result in a fried motherboard?
@@uFixTek so i did apply a bit too much thermal paste to the cpu and gpu but the thermal paste is non conductive and it was not a crazy amount, i only ran it for 5 minutes then turned it off and brought it into fucking geek squad when it was posting but not turning on and now my CPU is apparently fucked, could that of been my fault or would it be theirs because they had it up and running trying to redownload windows and a bunch of other shit BEFORE even cleaning out the fucked up thermal paste im in a big battle with them and wondering if this problem could've been cause by me or if it's most likely then
Hello, great video! I wanna ask, does the change of thermo gel would help? Or i don t need to worry about it and just leave it be and change termal paste?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, i would say recollect all the thermal gel and place them on the components (the factory gel) no need to replace them. you don't gain any performance or temp decrease.
but you can order a "thermal putty" from aliexpress and replace it on the next service.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
@@uFixTek U mean a better one? or doestn matter. (6 pro and UX pro)
doesn't matter any of them

Hello! Your video is really helofull. I will clean my asus soon, could you help me? I do not know what kind of alcohol should I use for cleaning.
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: all the material and tools used are in the video descriptions my friend, the alcohol has to be 98%+ ISO.
amzn.to/3VioIfL
99% Isopropyl Alcohol
i have no idea what is going on. is this a fan cleaning video? im looking for that
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: this video is for the servicing and fan cleaning and repaste, NOTE: in order to remove the fan and to clean it you must remove the heatsink, and once you removed the heatsink you must repaste the CPU and GPU. you could try to clean the fan without removing it with a toothbrush but it will be hard, its easy to remove and then clean.
which copper solution you used for cleaning the heatsink ?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or do both!
Regarding your question, there are various copper or silver cleaners available in the market , any of them will do the job. You can find them at jewelry shops, and they typically come in paste or liquid form.

After I did all of that my computer doesnt turn on anymore why?
Double check the connections, and i need more detail than " doesn't turn on" ,
#1. when you plug the charger, do you see any indication of charging LED?
#2. when you press power of do fans turn, to the power on LED turn on? or turn on and off?
#3. any blinking lights?
Note: if you have removed the the rams and try plug in one ram and then power on and if you get logo then power off and plug other ram.
I have been i ashole i removde the glue from gpu iam so stupid
😔
Is the thermal paste really necessary? I don't have the ability to redo most of this, i was just planning on openning it up and using compressed air
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: as long as you don't lift the heat-sink and only disconnect the fan connectors before using air compressor, you fine it will help.
@@uFixTek thanks! And forgot to say the video is amazing
thank you for the support my friend :)
if you have any question or request in the future feel free to ask me.
@@uFixTek what if the heat sink was lifted without re-applying a thermal paste? Will it pose a big problem??
@@chescadeluyas Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: oh boi YES you will have a bad day and can damage the cpu or gpu with over heating and you will get sudden shutdowns. every SINGLE time that the heatsink is lifted it MUST be cleaned and repasted. even if you applied 5min ago paste but you had to lift it up, then you have to re clean and re paste.
OH WOW. So you replaced the thermal paste and left the VRM with no cooling whatsoever? just WOW. Who cares that it gets over 100C hot right? If you have no thermal gel, at the very least use thermal pads for the VRM, this VRAM doesn't get very hot, you're right, it nice to cool it down, but unless someone plans to do the mining on this laptop, not that crucial, however I would totally disagree in regards to the VRM - this is very important. I bet you this laptop will have issues within a few years if used for gaming regularly. Would you say that the VRAM pads would be 1mm or 0.5 mm?
oki , let me explain a bit maybe you would understand, The VRAMS don't need thermal pads or anything as they won't heat-up and the bios for this laptop is locked you can't OC or push the limits of the vrams. the VRAM on a NONE OC GPU its the same as regular ram, you can have a regular ram with heatsink and without heatsink, it will make no effect on its performance. and the temps on we rams never go over 40c anyways. we have opened many laptop and tested the vrams temps. even some with RTX 2060 you don't even have pads or anything on them.
but if you feel like cooling the vrams is going to do any effect by all means go a head and place a 1mm thermal pad.
also only a crazy and retard person would use this for mining. i been repairing and servicing over 18years and we have done many many tests, and i would not mention anything that could harm clients laptop or equipment.
@@uFixTek And that's exactly what I said - the VRAM doesn't really get very hot, but the VRM (I have exactly the same laptop in front of me now) had the cooling from the factory for a reason, a crappy one, but better than nothing. VRM gets very hot on any graphics card with or without OC and will heat up the motherboard if not cooler properly. Now not every graphics card has the VRM cooling, but I'd definitely use the thermal pads to cool in down, to prolong the life-span of the laptop.
oh hell yes if you have the option and heatsink go for it its good to keep it cool, if you care about the laptop. but keep in mind that the vram would be your last thing that would fail in a laptop or any laptop, there are more sensitive or power mofsets that have way less life span compared to vram. I'ts good that you care about your laptop, as many people don't care about what they have, and start mining or rendering 24/7 :P
this laptop its not a workstation, or mining station.
i wish you the best and if there is anything i could assist you with, feel free to ask me my friend. good luck
So basically they make them purposefully more complicated so most people have to rely on after purchase services
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or do both!
Regarding your question, yes that is what they are start doing because they need the service center to get more money coming in and or make it harder for people to clean and service so it over heats and so they can purchase new models.
