  • One of my laptop's fans wasn't working so I decided to open it up and clean it. I took this opportunity to install an additional 8GB DDR4 RAM too. You can put your questions in the comments section and I will try to answer whatever I know. Also, a few people told me to disconnect the battery. I didn't do this in the video but please be sure to do it.
    The songs used in the video are not mine. I have added the links to the songs

    So many wrong things
    1st: Disconnect battery first
    2nd: Use any plastic /spatula to pry off the wires. You could have damaged the mobo with the metal screw driver
    3rd: Remove heatsink first before the fans, DO NOT SLIDE IT the copper heat sink/pipes are very malleable and with MODERATE preassure it might bent permanently.

    Nice video mate. My machine is not holding charge for more than 2-2.5 hrs. I don't play any games and its a 2 year old machine. Any idea how I can improve the battery backup? How much it would cost if replacing it is the best option?

    • @hs6389
      @hs6389  Před 3 lety +1

      I am no expert but that kind of backup is actually pretty normal. Mine is also 2 years. On very light use it last 2+hours. For extending life, I good thing you can do is to clean out your fans and close all applications running in the background which you are not using.

  • @mirekchance
    @mirekchance Před rokem

    Thanks man that helped.
    Although, I must add that everyone should unscrew the heat sink its like 4 bolts and that way u want bend it like I just did .
    Its minor and it will go back down, well it did as I screw the cover back on.
    Just safer way to do it in my opinion.
    I also unplugged the battery , and that "big " white connector u said not to unplug I had to as those wires were covering up one of the screws for the right fan and I didnt want to "pry " it away. Everything on this so small and I am sure easy to break...
    All the best.
    The video helped me, to finally do it, as it actually only took less than 20 min.
