- Unforgettable Civil War hunt on September 11th. Our good friends at Garrett Metal Detectors invited us to try out the Garrett AT Max at a so called "hunted out" Civil War site. The owner said he lets people hunt the farm all the time and it's been hunted for many years. We were blown by the variety and amount of quality relics and coins we saved this day. Kurt, found my first two old coins today.. after a month of digging trash and clad and a couple wheats.. i pulled two flowing hair one cent peices with the wreath out of the ground today.. and a dandy button!! .. man it really made all of those acres i walked worth it.. ur right it does give you the chills.. that is not a exageration.. When you find and show the relics, I like to think of the man or boy who owned that item and the stories he might tell. Saving history one dig at time....

Love how you get excited over history, i Metal detect as well and I found a canister shot ball once, I’m also a Union infantry reenactor. My ancestor was in the 15Th WI Vol INF, and he is the reason why I reenact. I’m also a first generation USAF AUX member in my family history, and the first Officer in my family history. I love the Civil War that’s why i live the history and collect the items I can get a hold of, thank you so much for sharing the video

You guys definitely need some of that "Image Stabilization Juice" that comes in the little square bottles for human consumption to carry in your pouches. Sweet finds guys. While I haven't found breast or box plates before, I have found horse bridle rosettes with similar conditions. I think what happens is the lead somehow leeches up and around onto the brass front. (most times the lead coating is heavier around the front edges) You should be able to remove the lead coating and have really nice conditioned brass underneath. Great job!

Yeah I'd say you had an ok day. Sheesh. lol. At least a few of those bullets were probably made here in Pittsburgh at the Allegheny Arsenal. They were a major supplier for the Union during the war. Hell of a hunt guys.
