Another Problem In The Koi Pond Filter House

- So we are coming to the end of the koi season but the jobs keep on coming! I woke up this morning to another problem!!!

Hi Matt thankfully you caught the flood in time and not much damage and hopefully the roof will be ok. And as for the jet wash you can get the attachment with a flexy end which help it get around any bends. Stay safe Andy 👍

What a nightmare Matt. Looked like little bird scratches near the hole on the roof maybe foraging for insects? 🤷♀️

Really not sure B, there are a few culprits, I've got magpies and crows in the trees behind and also our cat, none of them are owning up to it though 😅 yeah he's not looking to bad, slower recovery than I had hoped but we're getting there 👍

Good to see the Shiro on the mend Matt, was the jigsaw still plugged in if so it could have been that which tripped the electric when it got wet. Good repair on the roof MS300 to the rescue again, it does appear to have a lot of scratches round the rip perhaps it was a cat or a squirrel 🤔
Cheers Craig, yeah I'll probably get him out tomorrow and have a closer look but seems to be on the mend. Nah wasn't plugged in mate, definitely learned a lesson though to stop been a messy bugger and to put my tools away ☹️ I was thinking cat as I've seen ours on the roof quite a lot, but I'm not sure. I'm hoping it was debris from the bad weather so was a one off. Hope you're well mate 👍

A other great update on the pond mate are you sure there as not been any kids up there while you have hat work mate I can't see cat's doing that mate can you please keep me updated on fish that's in the swimming pool please mate.

Hi Steve. I'm really not sure mate, I don't really think it was the cat now either. It's a strange one! I'm probably going to get the shiro out tomorrow and take a look so I'll put that in my next update buddy.

Yeah I'm not 100% what did it but the cats definitely one of the main culprits!
If your filter house floor is lower than ground level, ground water will come in at a surprising rate and very difficult to stop it happening. As for electrics that is an odd one, new fuse boxes are very sensitive. Cheers 👍
Hi Richard, you're the second person to say that now, the thing is we've had plenty of rain the past few months and I've never had this problem. I'm hoping it was down to the hole in the rubber roof, now that's fixed I'm sure to find out when we have more. Thanks for your input mate 👍
Hi Matt, bit of flying debris in the wind maybe, hit the roof liner who knows!! Glad the electrics fired back up. To be honest weather has been a shocker and caused plenty of issues for people I’m sure. I’m hearing the gel is just a lot easier to apply and stays around that bit longer, keep smiling Mate👍
Hi Paul. Yeah I didn't think of that but it definitely makes sense! As long as its something that is unlikely to happen again then that's good! That roof wasn't cheap 😅 yeah the ozone gel definitely stays on longer, I'll get him out tomorrow and see how he's healing. I guess we should have expected the rain we've had considering how nice October was, its been bad here!
Awww man what a nightmare i hope you can recover some of your tools 😕 looking at the amount of water in there i would say thats ground water coming up rather than a leak in the roof especially as you dont have a solid floor all the way through
Time will tell on the flood problem, the hole in the roof was definitely big enough to let water in. I honestly think it was that Jamie, we've had a fair amount of rain since and the filter house has stayed dry. Hope you're well mate 👍

Good to see you Matt. I wonder if it could of been something to do with the thunder and lightning. We had it down in the South of the country, You never know, that damaged patch on the roof might have been caused by flying debris in the wind as it is just localised to that one small area. Hopefully we might be passed the worst of the weather now , fingers crossed
Thanks Les. You know I didn't think of that! I'm hoping it was something like that and not something that's going to keep happening. It was just a weird bit of damage the way it was shaped! Mate my garden is horrendous at the moment, it's like a swamp 😭👍
