    Old video, but buddy the info you gave was just priceless. Things I already knew but during rough times like I've had this last week trying to figure out what has gone wrong just clarified everything. Thanks again for your efforts.

    I did all the check ups on my car come to find out the car had to much pressure in crankcase the engine does not have any type of catch can or breather box you are a beast at turbo stuff

    how do you fix the crank case pressure going to ur center cartridge of ur turbo? and result of blowing oil ? any suggestions how to avoid that cause my motor is kind having a blow by cause of my set up my ring gaps are looser to avoid blowing up ring lands so ihave this little bit more crank case pressure that can make my turbo spit oil

  • @juancolon887

    Would adding an oil catch can help get rid of some of the crankcase pressure causing smoking turbo?

    So what do you think about using an oil pressure regulator for the turbo? Good idea or not so good?

  • @littleherms3285

    My issue, I think, is that the oil drain hole in the turbo itself is too small (10mm). I've been looking at MANY pics of GT35 turbos and it looks like my China Boi has a GT35R hole as opposed to a regular GT35 journal brg hole (15mm judging by pictures).
    Everything else is well taken care of and was fine for about 2000kms, now it blows oil out the exhaust only.
    I'm pretty sure drilling and porting the drain hole in the cartrage will, hopefully, fix my issue.

    @alj2264 Před 5 lety

    Too much crankcase pressure is usually to cause for oil not draining properly ..!!! Also with excessive heat the oil thins out causing low oil pressure when using a stock or low volume oil pump...!!!

    That oil tube looked like it had a poorly made bend. Kinda hard to measure the size in the bend, but any poor crimped "non mandrel" bends will probably restrict.

    Most of these examples looked like they were always shut down hot. Turbos need to cool off before you turn the key off after spirited driving. Not waiting for temperatures to drop in the housings cooks the oil into the hard sandy black crap shown in these examples. These people should be driving super charged engines.. not turbo charged.

    Check out what they say about the waste gate hole on new turbos..... Not nearly as big as needed.... Thus common issues with boost and linked factors

    I have a tdo4 on a Subaru. I removed turbo and I noticed a lot of clean oil on the up pipe housing. I have normal shaft play and it spins well with an air compressor.
    What could this be? Thank you:)

    Hey Austin, i think I'm having a similar issue like this aswell I've got a gti with 1.8t stock k03s with your rebuild kit install in it and had the turbo professionally balanced at a local turbo shop,to make a long story short installed turbo with high flow manifold and cranked my waste gate slitly turbo is working great and syringe but coming to a stop at idle and sitting for a minute then going I get a burning oil smell and slit puff from a go ,but no smoke at cold start or anything just when warm and stop and go other then that turbo pulls stronger then ever working fine ,any ideas ?

    Can this make a car at idle (randomly) after getting hot (only happens once in a blue moon) smoke or burn like one drop of oil (no shaft play and boost perfectly fine)?

    I just checked my turbo today and there was oil residue inside. I cleaned it off to reveal what looks like scrape marks from the conpressor wheel. Fine little scratches all around the housing. I’m having a slight whistling noise like a supercharger and loss of power/bogging. How likely is it that my turbo is bad and causing these symptoms?

  • @kanafamily5235

    I have a turbo thats leaking oil also into the inter-cooler and also have a blow -by symptoms(splits engine oil out on high revs ) when i pull out the oil filler cap.Can a leaking turbo seal like that cause a high crankcase pressure and lead to this blow by symptom?.

    • @gammalight1312
      @gammalight1312 Před 5 lety

      Yes definitely, boost slipping past the seals will actually over pressurize the crankcase, increasing blow-by.

    You hid the spot with this video. I have a Turbonetics 60:1 billet T3 Stg 3 with this same issue. The oil pressures are 35psi hot and 90cold. My mechanic installed two oil reducers. One .90 at the block and one .70 at the turbo. The turbo was recently rebuild and 4 days later started to smoke through the center. I have the same 10AN drain setup. Am going to follow your recommendations and get the straight 5/8 heather hose brass fitting from Home Depot with hose. Muchas Gracias.
