    With all the drama and CZcams implode in L. A, coming to the chanel of Emma's Dad and listening to waves while watching them paint is so satisfying and calming.

    Both paintings are spot on because they are foggy, the atmosphere is all over them. I wouldn't dare to paint in a day like that.

      Thanks Martin. It’s really difficult to get a good painting on a foggy day. Still trying to figure it out.

      I have a video about getting started. It's mostly about the equipment needed for plein air (outdoor) painting, but the equipment can be used indoors as well! czcams.com/video/K3E-VQ3Xmxo/video.html

    I like it, and remember that atmosphere so well . I miss it . you captured the fog , not easy to do. Melina does very well, she’s an apprentice in your style, and just a few more darks would be good.

      Housing has always been expensive in California, going all the way back to the gold rush. This is the land of opportunity. If you want it, make it happen 😊👍

    • @chamberlainpaintings
      @chamberlainpaintings  Před 4 lety +1

      Good for you. I was the same. I never made a lot, but I was frugal. I learned how the stock market worked and invested the little I had. I never got rich but I’ve been able to stay in California. Another thing to remember is, you can earn more here. You can do anything you want as long as you’re willing to work for it and don’t give up! 🌟

    Maybe , in 6 months when dry , you might add a thin zinc white glaze over the background ?. A literal fog or wash of paint.. Your ocean movement and colours are simply spot on Mike.

      @@chamberlainpaintings I've scene many impressinist paintings up close and personal . From Paris , London , Edinburgh , Dublin , Sheffield and my home capital , Cardiff. Where , incidentally the Davies sisters , daughters of a coal magnate and unmarried , used to buy the unpopular works. Now Cardiff has one of , if not THE best collection of works by these artists in the world.
      I digress , your seascapes , in the right frames , could easily sit alongside an early Monet , Coilleboute or Sisley. Would love to see some live one day.

    so greens and darks become lighter and bluer, but what do yellows do as they recede they seem to darker or lighter? seems i've found either to be true which is opposite to the rule. funny question just something i've been working on. love our work as always!

    When you put down your first strokes of paint, did you dilute it with turps or oil or just use the paint as is straight out of the tube? beautiful work btw
