Thanks!
i'm currently binge watching every video of you. So calming. These plein air videos with Melina are my favorites!
Addicting videos for sure. Entertaining, informative and highly inspiring.
A tip: you can watch series on KaldroStream. I've been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Tristan Jaiden yup, I have been using KaldroStream for since december myself :)
Highly effective....thanks for going into detail about High keys...and "keying off" the lightest colour..........very helpful!
With all the drama and CZcams implode in L. A, coming to the chanel of Emma's Dad and listening to waves while watching them paint is so satisfying and calming.
Very pretty colours! You inspired me to try Plein air for the first time yesterday. It was a disaster, but I cant wait to do it again!
Thanks Louise! Good for you for getting out there! 😊👍
Thank you for sharing and inspiring. Your videos are a bright spot in my life. I look forward to more instruction and demonstration on painting atmospheric effects in the future.
Glad you're enjoying my videos!
i love how it looks like you do it so freely & then it just comes together into a master piece every single time!
😊
Both paintings are spot on because they are foggy, the atmosphere is all over them. I wouldn't dare to paint in a day like that.
Thanks Martin. It’s really difficult to get a good painting on a foggy day. Still trying to figure it out.
Awesome vlog! Beautiful ocean and nature. I love it. Amazing paintings, guys! It's fascinating to see the transformation from a sketch to the masterpiece! Melina is great too! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! So glad enjoyed! 😊
These videos make me want to get into oil painting so bad! Just have no idea where to start! Absolutely love learning more about color and perspective as well. (Love how relaxing these videos are as well!)
I have a video about getting started. It's mostly about the equipment needed for plein air (outdoor) painting, but the equipment can be used indoors as well! czcams.com/video/K3E-VQ3Xmxo/video.html
Love your channel man! I'm a painter and I wish I knew about you when I was living in LA. We could have plein air painted together!
Thanks! Where are you now?
chamberlainpaintings I’m in Sarasota Florida and loving it.
@@paintcoach Oh cool! Well I'll let you know if I make it to Florida. Would love to paint there someday.
@@chamberlainpaintings sounds good. I have a ton of respect for you not only being a plein air painter but also filming and making videos plein air painting. I have tried that and it is very hard.
Love your work, so educational. Thanks for all you do
Thanks Bruce!
Love seeing Melina’s POV
Amazing ✨
I like it, and remember that atmosphere so well . I miss it . you captured the fog , not easy to do. Melina does very well, she’s an apprentice in your style, and just a few more darks would be good.
I think both paintings turned out very well, good video also.
Thanks Don!
i love ur videos! you're such a great painter
Thanks! 😊
You Live in such a beautiful place in this world. I can only imagine. How gorgeous this is and to hear that I’m the background. Your friend, Melina is awesome too! I did PleinAir painting this morning of my daughters house. ♥️❤️😷🎨✌️♥️❤️
Yes, the coastline of San Mateo-Santa Cruz is so beautiful. Melina is awesome. Having a painting buddy keeps you motivated! So glad to hear you got out and painted. 😊
Housing has always been expensive in California, going all the way back to the gold rush. This is the land of opportunity. If you want it, make it happen 😊👍
Good for you. I was the same. I never made a lot, but I was frugal. I learned how the stock market worked and invested the little I had. I never got rich but I’ve been able to stay in California. Another thing to remember is, you can earn more here. You can do anything you want as long as you’re willing to work for it and don’t give up! 🌟
One day I will be there. I’m going to Texas for a 4 day class but one day me and you and the view!
This is so satisfying!!!!
I love how you paint water
Loved it, Its good to have a painting buddy i think, Can help push each other to progress. A beautiful location there Mike 🎨👍
I agree. Thanks Tez!

I don't find it light enough, I would have try to capture the fog, both of you didn't. You are so lucky to live in an area were you can experience this amazing fog.
Loved this video! I enjoy painting atmospheric landscape . What palette. Did you use? Love your colors.
👍👍👍
Maybe , in 6 months when dry , you might add a thin zinc white glaze over the background ?. A literal fog or wash of paint.. Your ocean movement and colours are simply spot on Mike.
Thanks Dai!
@@chamberlainpaintings I've scene many impressinist paintings up close and personal . From Paris , London , Edinburgh , Dublin , Sheffield and my home capital , Cardiff. Where , incidentally the Davies sisters , daughters of a coal magnate and unmarried , used to buy the unpopular works. Now Cardiff has one of , if not THE best collection of works by these artists in the world.
I digress , your seascapes , in the right frames , could easily sit alongside an early Monet , Coilleboute or Sisley. Would love to see some live one day.
That’s very kind of you. Thanks Dai! I’d love to surf and paint in your part of the world someday!
so greens and darks become lighter and bluer, but what do yellows do as they recede they seem to darker or lighter? seems i've found either to be true which is opposite to the rule. funny question just something i've been working on. love our work as always!
When you put down your first strokes of paint, did you dilute it with turps or oil or just use the paint as is straight out of the tube? beautiful work btw
Thanks! I thinned with a bit of Liquin, which is a fast drying medium from Winsor and Newton.
@@chamberlainpaintings Thank you for the quick response - much appreciated.
Golly I just started painting and I'm really excited to try plein air. Any books you'd recommend for a beginner on landscape painting? Btw your painting came out amazing!!
I saw you yesterday on the beach!!
Me too!!
