Great video. Good to see cu's of your palette and how you mix color, also good to see how you apply paint over paint to achieve the color "mix" on the canvas. Also good to see the scrubby brush work to achieve the loose feel that you are so good at.
Just watched this latest video. Great! Inspired! I'm off to a plein air class and instead of thinking what Kruppe might paint I'll be thinking would Michael C paint this?! Looking at composition today through fog, wind, and showers in Gloucester! Thanks again for great info.
What a beautiful show studio you have Michael ,, I so wish I lived over there I would love to come and help with anything , just to be close by those beautiful paintings . I wish you all the very best and success with it all 👌👌
Great to see you back at what you love to do ❣️Thank you for sharing your passions , we all benefit. Seeing the palette mixtures is most helpful. Mahalo
Your videos are awesome! I’ve been going to the beach with my surfer friend and he’s been hittin’ the waves while I’ve been painting. Your video is inspiring me to try both now ahaha.
Good to see you back in the groove and thank goodness the smoke has lifted. I am about 1,290 miles from the ocean so it was great to hear the waves crashing in the background 👍
Glad to see you outside again! I agree on extending the reflection colors on this one after you live with it awhile. Also the front cliff the line where the lit surface goes to shadow; it’s either the high contrast or the shape of the base that feels odd. I hate to sound critical but my eye just kept going to it. The wave pattern and reflections are awesome!
Great painting for your return to the “grind.” The waves and background mountains are perfect. I also really like seeing your palette during the process.
I've been waiting for this! lately, I thought I was losing interest in painting. I was always unsatisfied with the result and scared to paint again. Now, I just stare at blank canvas.
MICHAEL. - ( I count 47 amazing paintings that you have in the Studio link below, some are ones I call favorites, but there ALL VERY GOOD paintings, Top Left is L1 , love the way you handled the sun from the west on a north/south street, tricky but accurate sun - vs - shade , on roofs only on the west, but on the street and buildings to the left, some trees line areas , their leaves and the play of sunlight, you got , love the look, hey, with cars parked and some moving in distance. R 1 is this huge group of rocks eroded away by the sea, but, what is left is really TALL, very cool painting. L-2 is downtown , cars, buildings , trees, on of the cars is parked on the side walk, just two wheels but you compensate for the way it sets.. R2 Is that Big beautiful “” 3 BOATS “” painting, that is absolutely wonderful painting, love love the full colors. R3 - BIG WAVE painting , I believe there are THREE of those, all great, my fav is lower on left. BTW, All Three you Painted are creatively different, first one from top is “” just “” cresting. L4 Cinema In town, the marquee colors and people really “” pop”” in this painting. R4- Downtown leads to the sea, sloped road, buildings, sea in distance but kinda close, it’s noticeably there, high mountains in far distance, yup that’s a fav. R-5 is two trees , with , well I see 5 sets of dragons eyes in the trees leaves, might be just me but a FAVORITE. L-5. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, FANTASTIC ! L6 Bobber, that moves in the painting, swear it did ! L-7 country road, trees on both side, very very interesting, many images in the trees, both side. A FISHING SYREAM, love that, looks like a place similar I fished in.. TOKYO CROSSWALK, looks like it to me, overhead view, maybe 6 or 7 people , look like they are walking to dinner, “” very favorite “” painting.. unless you count Emma’s Tricycle, man it’s cool, authentic looking to, right down to the sparkle. MICHAEL YOU have 47 paintings in there, all look GREAT. .. From bottom left up is a parting in the rocks at the seashore, I always called it, “” Lochness Landing””, , eons ago, they roamed the world and came on shore to mate, theoretically, and That is a Favorite too, almost 2AM, I got a good feeling looking at your paintings, all very creative! 🙂❤️
wow i love this one! the leading lines are so good, i loved hearing your thought process as well. did you switch to the synthetic because you wanted a smoother look?

mowing the lawn isn't fun. Painting is the way to go. My fiance just got me some water color paints this morning. I have not used water color since I was a kid.

Thanks for your interpretation Mark!
THANKS for sharing your adventures and painting process, what a scene, great painting! did you make that easel?, it looks pretty sturdy & cool
Thanks! The easel is from takeiteasel.com
So talented
I loved thisssss
It looked so good👏😌
Thanks!
wow i love this one! the leading lines are so good, i loved hearing your thought process as well. did you switch to the synthetic because you wanted a smoother look?
I feel like I’ve got a bit more control with the synthetic. It would be fun to finish one with the natural bristle tho!
Not always easy to 'get in the groove', after stepping away but you certainly did.
Thanks John!
How long have you been painting for?
Since 2003 😊
Do u have any general advise for acrylic painter/beginner? Does “keep it loose” apply? Should I stick with one medium while in early stage of learning?
I don’t know much about acrylic painting. Check out Marcia Burtt for really nice, loose acrylic paintings. 😊👍
Do you ever get tired of painting seascapes??
hi do you mostly do landscape paintings? ever tried human subject?
Yes, I paint humans as well. 😊
You should do a painting giveaway) I’m down.
I already do that on Patreon 😊👍
big dog!
Haha, thanks Ben!
Both you guys are legends!!!
👍👍👍
A beginner question, how to one down a color , do you mean make it more toward gray by adding opposite color ؟
To grey down a color I usually add the compliment (opposite color on the color wheel).
@@chamberlainpaintings
Thanks for your answer I meant gray down .
@@simaabedini3617 You're welcome!
hey cp hows ur day been? great vid btw🤍🤍🤍

Hi love your creative ideas!! I try to paint as many of your pantings as I can but I’m not very good 🙃 I may make a painting tutorial on my channel!
