    For me this is why small paintings really should not be that much less expensive than a larger painting. Because when I paint I spend just as much time on the little ones if not more trying to maneuver in that little space to get some of the details in. It is actually easier sometimes to paint bigger. I have had people commission a small painting, (I hate commissions), thinking that they didn’t want to spend a lot of money and it’s actually been more work for me. I think for this reason I will have a minimum size in a commission from now on.

    This was very helpful as I struggle with composition. I paint alot from photos and my photos are taken hurriedly and haphazardly. I'm distracted by that great painting behind you! Fish beach!! Love Monhegan but can't paint with all those people over your shoulder. Prefer the other side! Thanks quarantine and CZcams for introducing me to Michael!!

      Thanks! I like Monhegan but prefer staying in Port Clyde for the reason you mention. I’m going to miss Maine this year but will return next summer. Glad you found my channel!

    MICHAEL. - seen a fascinating painting of your palette with easel and painting on the easel, but you’ve also painted the rest of the landscape, rocks, sea people, very complex, I clicked the link to the San Francisco Studio below, that is a double painting composition, as an artist you painted from the 4th dimension peering into the 3rd dimension, that is you correct , or am I wrong, Loved Your Video, 3:48 AM HERE

I love photography and really want my own dark room. Anyway just picturing your work in a gallery makes me smile❤️☺️

    this might be a ‘dumb’ question but what do you package your paintings in & where do you purchase the packaging for them?

    • @chamberlainpaintings
      @chamberlainpaintings  Před 4 lety +2

      I ship smaller paintings using US postal flat rate boxes and envelopes. I save larger boxes, when they come my way, to ship larger work.

      @chamberlainpaintings  Před 4 lety +1

      I put the palette cup, with leftover Liquin, in a plastic bag. It stays good for days. 😊👍

    So you are saying if you were going to mail a painting let’s say 24 x 36 with the frame, you just buy a priority mail box or go to the post office and ask for it to be shipped priority mail? Do you pack it yourself? Because I am finding that the shipping fees are crazy expensive. What would it cost for for instants for a 24 x 36 framed painting to be shipped priority mail? Sorry for all the questions but I’m just having trouble with shipping.

    • @chamberlainpaintings
      @chamberlainpaintings  Před 4 lety

      You can only ship up to 16x20” via the post office. I use UPS or FedEx for lager pieces, and yes, it’s expensive!

    The problem with IG now is its algorythm, it's not your case but with smaller accounts like mine almost NOBODY sees the post. I'm over it...I post anything because it's just my family, friends, some followers including you and grandma Chambie following and commenting. For the rest of the people Im a ghost lol.

    • @chamberlainpaintings
      @chamberlainpaintings  Před 4 lety +3

      My Instagram was slow for the first year. Things picked up when I started posting almost every day. Problem is you’ve got to paint A LOT to post that much.

    • @martingimenez339
      @martingimenez339 Před 4 lety +2

      chamberlainpaintings yeah I have to paint more often you are right. When I post a painting I have 3 times more likes than a regular ass picture. I have bought canvases so I'll have to paint eventually.
