This one is all about violent cults.
As always we are not experts, we just google this stuff.

Instead of violence, I wish we saw more sectual healing.
I think it comes down to the individual sectuality
😂
Now that song is stuck in my head with your lyrical change. Thanks.
All Day I Dream About Sects. A.D.I.D.A.S.
@@ChristopherSadlowski I was thinking of Sexual Chocolate from Coming to America :P
I, too, would like a How It's Made episode about communion wafers. Once I complained to my pastor that there was no way the ones we had been getting weren't foam (basically packing peanuts), so he pulled out a box so we could see the nutrition facts. There were none.

Haven't watched it yet, but here's something from Hustle meant to explain why nuns aren't the main ones making communion wafers
I have no idea why but "Belief it or... Fuck?" absolutely floored me. Your videos are always therapeutic, keep it up!
Yeah I was in the Army when the Branch Davidians met their fiery end. That book of Revelation is done a lot of damage even though it was written for a first century audience not a 20th or 21 century audience.
These types of cults really are terrifying.
A good podcast to shave my head to.
Much love from New Zealand.
Amen.
@4:44
When I was a kid, we went to church at a Carmelite monastery where the nuns made the communion wafers.
There are a lot of offcuts in the production process. So the nuns would fill garbage bags full of offcuts and broken wafers and give them to the kids.
On special occasions they would deep fry the offcuts and roll them in cinnamon sugar. They were delicious. Much better than the Jesus flavoured wafers.
That sounds perfectly fine as an hors d'oeuvre or snacky dessert, but it still can't compete with my special atheist Eucharist: pizza and whiskey.
@DavidRichardson153 I used to love the unleavened little pieces of bread my old non denom church observed weekly. I don't know what it was called but it was delicious and I've never tasted any other like it.
Not to mention, the grape juice was also excellent.
@@DavidRichardson153 I'm certainly down for pizza as a sacrament. I know it's cliche but a good pepperoni, extra cheese pizza is probably my favorite food.
Just what I needed this Thanksgiving day. I'm stuck at home because my glaucoma has acted up AGAIN and I need emergency surgery in two weeks. I need some of my favorite CZcamsrs to keep me company while I play video games and waste the day. Honestly, I'm a little glad I have an excuse to skip out on family dinner...I think a lot of folks can understand this feeling. Just remember: you can set boundaries, and "it's a tradition" is not a valid argument to guilt you into doing something you don't want to!
One of the few really good things my Christian highschool did was have us learn about cults and how to recognize them- I think it worked a little too well on me tho haha
Gotta love a good 4am Podcast episode for when you can’t sleep
Keep up the good work!
No f***ing way! My folks were part of the Way International! I would love it if y'all did an episode on Victor Wierwille and company.
I don't know a lot about sects, but violence is everywhere, and I'm pretty exposed to that. We appreciate all your insights on this channel. Keep working hard.
Oooh! Ohhh! Do the communion wafers! Include the part where celiacs have to eat the gluten wafers because god/jesus will make it okay!
The academic probation episode and the hockey episode are the same! Bart already plays and he taunts Lisa because she failed at other sports, and Apu drafts her to his team as a goalie.
Though Christ preached love and tolerance to all, Christianity has almost singularly been the most hypocritical, violent, destructive, and intolerant of all faiths throughout the centuries.
I would like to hear the Communion wafer episode. I work at Amazon and I've seen box sets that include wafers and individual grape juice cups. I would love to know what church is ordering communion ingredients from Amazon and viewing the practice as holy.
I love the punny title and Trevor's franchise-scrambling shirt.
Happy gluttony holiday to all my American friends!
Some music history for my Brothers in Christ: "The Way" is a song by Fastball and was absolutely inescapable if you were listening to CFNY aka 102.1 The Edge during the summer of 1998.
For communion wafers these are the ingredients and recipe.
They blend Jesus with leftovers of ice cream cones from malls and several e numbers with guar gum. Baked for 13 minutes until brown.
Guys, it's the hockey one. Lisa joins peewee hockey for nearly failing gym at the same time Bart is a superstar on the competing hockey team.
Oh my god, I’m so glad someone actually answered that question because I wanted to know 😂
There are plenty of intense hot topic food debates! I'd listen
1. Pro or Anti candy corn
2. Pro or Anti Mint chocolate ice cream
3. Pro or Anti Pineapples on Pizza
4. Pro or Anti Pickles and are cucumber lovers hypocrites for not liking pickles too or they don't like tomatoes but like ketchup crowd.
Lol the whole “meet cute” tangent cracked me up.
communion wafers have a really nice texture tho, I'd eat them instead of popcorn tbh it always gets stuck in my teeth. me going to watch the fnaf movie with a bucket of communion wafers
Do Mike Johnson? He’s second in line for the presidency and a super spooky strict Christian. He thinks we walked w dinosaurs.
Mike Johnson is a friggin' looney tune. Louisiana really knows how to churn out the crazies.
@@ChristopherSadlowski Did you see James Carville covering him? Look it up, it’s so good. It’s shocking how influential and corrupt Louisiana politicians are.
I love your Star Trek shirt Trevor 😂
"there's a 'u r a' in failure" oh Damien 😏 can we get a podcast of just you two talking nonsense?
Omg "you just want a job at the waffer factory" would be a wonderful, non sequitur response any time anyone claims to be JC.
PS i loved the Mr Black censoring of the pastors
Oh, no, please, by all means, disparage mumford and sons
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for sharing.
Unironically I'm all in on this "How It's Made" wafer thing. I gotta know.
Your debates are fabulous
6:08 "You first start by crusifying the Son of God. This to prepare the ingredients. The weight of mankind's sins give the wafers their signature flavor."
Mmmm! Sinnamon toast crunch! 😋
Aum Shinrikyuo's use of violence was justified by a pretty obscure and esoteric Buddhist teaching from Tibetan Buddhism called phowa, where killing someone opposed to righteousness is justified as it saves them from accruing any further negative karma. They were a very syncretic cult, combining elements from Christianity and Buddhism, and elements from here and there, including belief in ESP and a global Jewish conspiracy, which they publicly always framed as being about Freemasons.
THey also had some membership in Australia and Russia, and when they were stopped they were found with a bunch of Russian weapons, and with apparent plans to try to create their own nuclear weapon, although that was never a realistic scenario, but rather something Asahara wanted and everyone playing along.
A grim hypothetical I have, is that if only Asahara had included belief in martyrdom and suicide attacks into his belief system (and not to be orientalist, but that HAS historically been a thing in Japan), the cult could have done much more damage in the Sarin attack, and in their later attempt at another station. The attacks were mitigated in both events by people noticing the package and throwing it away from people, and extinguishing a fire in the latter. If the attackers would have just stayed there to ensure the weapon worked, there would have been way more bodies, including a second mass death incident, which was timed to hit a station under a police station just around shift change.
God I love this podcast
God, I love this podcast.
Lol JK there's prob no god
Surprised to see the podcast back 🎉
Yeah we’re finishing out the year. It was a couple days late for reasons
Love the wordplay with the title! 😂
I was 13 on the turn of the millennium and I don't remember what I was really doing back then. really unremarkable time.... till 9/11 2001
Matamoros, Tamaulipas, is on the border of Brownsville, Texas where I'm from.
Have you ever done a video of the 'Great Falling Away'? I still haven't fully caught up on your catalog 😮 also, lookin fresh Trevor!
I haven’t yet. (I don’t think)
HACK THE BONE! HACK THE BOOOONE!
Grandma's Communion Wafers! Now with 20% more Jesus!! 😅
gonna use this vid to thank you for the lastest video on how the church is targeting tarns. you are great and as a cis man i felt like you were more cisplaining to us, your cis peers and not patronizing our trans pals
Belief it OR ELSE!
This is a play on the song "sex and violence" from SLC Punk right?
could you do a video on the opus dei please?
I dunno who you guys been talking to but I would LOVE to watch a debate where you take highly unserious topics very seriously. Maybe emulate one of the debate perverts like Destiny arguing the implications of getting revenge on someone who SA'd you. Be all serious like them but the topic is about if you should avoid stepping on cracks becuz you might break your mother's back.
23:21 Name the sex cult "Fuck it or Not"
Heart the pod! And heart Jagger Jesus! - and his mysterious ways. Oh, and his little tuxedo! (Everyone knows Jesus is a fancy lil fella who wears a fancy lil tux. It's _lore!)_
uwu 💖
"The Way" (1998) is a great song, but it is by Fastball, not Bon Jovi. This stuff is important, ya know?
1:52 to be fair, there are plenty of folks who pay money to get punished. 😏
Sex? Yes, Please!
Violence? No Thanks!
oooh.... it says *Secta*… hahaha, I know it's a lame joke! Especially to tell around a certain content creator who has a platonic marriage proposal coming their way.
About the Simpsons, that was the one when Lisa became a gymnast!
Cartel, smartel…
Spooty spoot
What’s next for Belief It Or Not?
I’ll keep doing the video essays but we are taking a break from the podcast in the new year. Then we will see
@@BeliefItOrNot ahh I see. Well, I look forward to whatever you do. Your channel is great
A "Sect" is not necessary a "cult" that's two separate issues. Plus the two terms are more screwed up than the time line after Skynet got ahold of it. "Cult" has it's origin in the word "cultivate" as Jesus used farming parables the Church was to plant and cultivate the Holy Spirit in others. "Sect" is short for "Section" of the Church. As the church is described as a body one section is the head, one section is the right hand, ect.
Then over time the foot kicked the balls and walked out.
@ 13:10 Cults & Cats kill because they saw that Gods awful movie "Cats" together and it drove them mad.
@ 26:43 so "movement to restore the 10 Commandments" which states "thou shall not kill" then kill everyone. That's as bad as send your money to God but here my address.
You blasphemy Mumford and Sons hieratics! May the God of Music Ozzy Osbourne strike you like a Fender!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Since I can't comment on your newest video I'll comment here.
Transgenderism is gross and wrong, and I'm not religious.
I’m not unaware that non religious people can also suck.
