  • I believe the band plays this song at the end of all of their home games. Hearing this band before, during and after the game is half the fun of going to the games in my opinion. Just look at how much fun all of the students and a few adults are having. This was recorded Sep 24, 2011.

      Bobby Bingham. He was my band teacher. He is on my friends lists. He can get you sheet music for all instruments. I played trombone. This was my favorite. 1986-1981.

    ever heard of phasing? that's probably what happened, especially at the end when the band was spread so far apart. My high school band has this issue all the time because we have 250+ members.

    Sounds pretty good, just no where near as good as the band who has made it famous. Go Spirit of Houston and remember the wonderful Dr. Bill Moffit

    Was the percussion supposed to be so off? Georgia's band is better than' tech's.

    Drum major's add nothing to the band honestly. I even know some bands that told have them and that let their drumline start off their songs. Just saying, we're better haha

      Rdtdl um you need them to keep tempo especially when the drumline isnt playing they're pretty important

    • @AmosPressley
      @AmosPressley Před 6 lety

      Rdtdl, the drum major is vital. There should always be ONE who keeps tempo. This is especially true when a band is spread out on the field, because light travels faster than sound. Band members learn that there are times when they have to discipline themselves to ignore what they are hearing, and watch the Drum Major, no matter what.
      On the field during a show, there are times when the instruments need MORE than one Drum Major. Sometimes their back is turned as part of the show. Sometimes the band is so large that extras are needed. In every case, the movements of the ONE main Drum Major at the 50 yard line are diligently mirrored by the auxiliaries WITHOUT REGARD TO WHAT THE DRUMS MAY BE DOING AT THE TIME.
