gwinnettlawns....
I’ve had my srm225 since 2007. Working like a champ. Just put gas and line in it. I found another one at a pawn shop and had to have it. Now I’ve got two.
"Everything I have in here is Echo..." I used to be the same way, now I have a mix of brands. All my active trimmers are Redmax now and one 525 Husqvarna.
I’ve had 2 of the srm225 echos for over ten years here in Hawaii and I love em. Had one of the old grey colored 225 given to me and it was great. Just needed a new carb. I have ran my echos so hard and they still keep on a ticking. Glad to hear they took care of you.
Im glad echo took care of you we use echo srm225 as hedge trimmers cuz there so light weight and i have my guy doing hedges all day long with it we are so amazed how well this unit has held commercially for the past year since we have owned it i purchased 2 more but i buy them in homedepot cuz if you have any kind of problem the first 30 days they will exchange them for you not like dealers you buy it its yours i had one that leaked a little but over time it stopped i guess the gasses seatled man if you loved the 225 you are definitely going to love the 2320 i bought one 6 months ago and its been great.
Good that they took care of you but the rest of us poor schleps have to deal with our echo turds.
I worry about other people like me without a channel and a following having this issue
It's great that they gave you help, but I doubt I'd get that from them. I'd still be having them tell me they won't fix it
Great video ... u was fair in this video I like that ... pro-cons .
Great video. Glad echo made things right for you.
I've had my 225 for about 7 years now and for the past four years I've had the exact same problems you described. I've replace the carburetor multiple times and now the oil is leaking AGAIN. I'm ready to trash it for an electric because I'm tired of engine issues.
My srm 225 leaks black oil as well but other than that it runs very well..i love the fact that you don't have to pull so hard to start it!!!
Kool, they took care of you.
So, to get Echo to stand behind their products, you have to create a social media post with thousands of views. No thanks. They're dead to me.
I may look into this one. Looked at the 2665 ( i think) and keep hearing it is heavier. This would be good upgrade from my 115.
Good to know echo help you out…
Companies that stand behind their products get.....and keep....my business! Screw me over....and I won't be buying that brand again.
Great video. I love my echo srm225 but I do want to get another as a second trimmer with more power for a few hillsides I cut
Congrats Russell let me know if that's the fix the schindaiwa 235 is a close cousin to the 2330 I'm going to call my dealer and see if they will do the same thing for me they did fix my 8010 blower twice under warranty for me good luck with your new trimmers 👍
I’ve got a 225 that starts but won’t idle up. Pulled the screen on the spark arrest and it’s clean.
Good stuff never tryed an echo trimmer
Tony's Lawn Care me either, I’ve always been a Husqvarna guy. With that being said I’m really interested in the Echo 2320T and possibly adding an Edgit Pro.
@@bradleyplayer4254 no one asked
If a manufacture will not stand behind there own product neither will I. Stihl all the way!
Just curious. What is the thing you dont like about Husqvarna?
Yes echo took heat over this and it's brutal how they treat customers they need to realise they have an issue and fix the issue the poor joe blow who buys one isn't getting his replaced ...hes up shit creek.
I use SRM-266 trimmers and those things are a beast!! I only use Echo but their warranty is a joke.
Sad that you have to make a video to get action.
I'm in the same boat I bought a trimmer last year arm 225 and it started spitting oil, my dad took it back to Home Depot at first they wouldn't take it back but eventually a manager took it and said grab another, then the next one started spitting oil, I cleaned the spark arrestor cover adjusted the carb and it still does it, I've been using it for a while now and it still oils but I just clean it when I'm done do you think tough that even though I adjusted the carb that if I called echo they would send me a new one
Nope, never buy Echo again.
I’m glad you got taken care of. Can you provide a link to the hour meter you are using on your trimmers, please?
Hour Meter▶ amzn.to/2MdB6u9
I use echo srm225’s for mowing business and small engine repair on the side. I think issue is the oil seals which I haven’t tore mine down yet but that’s what I think is happening.
Where do you get your hour meters?
Hey man I’m glad they made it right. Also do you have a link to the carb you got for the 225, I have new one not yet seen gas yet. I got it cheap brand new at a equipment auction. Here are you getting your hour meters. Great video 👍🏻

You’d have loved a husky trimmer. My husky trimmer is lighter than my 225.
Which one do you have?
Gwinnett Lawns Husky 322L and I’ve had a 128LD and 125L. The 125L lasted 8 years...
i wonder if the spark screen plugged up, and the excessive blow by pressure , caused main seals to leak
No it was 100% clear.
I have the same problem with my echo 225 and mine is less than 6 months old
I can’t wait until I see your review of the 2320. You know what’s funny? I just purchased a brand new 225 when I saw your videos covering the issue you were having. Guess what? My 225 just started doing the exact same thing. I’m using Amsoil Saber 100:1 with non-ethanol gasoline. Are you also using Amsoil Saber at 100:1?
20% more torque than the SRM-225, chrome cylinder plating, which is what gives it the 300 hour rating over the 50 hour rating with the SRM-225.
I’m going to get one of these next, but have been anxiously waiting for your follow up feedback on the new 2320T
I will be doing the update video today.
SRM-225 only has a 50 hour rating? I’m thinking to getting the Shc 225 hedge trimmer, the 50 hour rating isn’t appealing
@@GwinnettLawns hey Russ what’s your experience with the hour rating with the 225? I’m thinking of buying the SHC 225 hedge trimmer, the 2620s have been awesome for 3 years here. Thanks
@@chewarmstrong i’ve had so many issues with the 225 engines it’s hit or miss. they’re not rated for very many hours so I think I would always try to stick with a different engine if it was me.
Just bought an SRM225...tried to start it up (followed normal startup procedure of course) and can't even get it to turn over when choked. I've tried removing the filter to allow more air in, nothing.... Drained the gas and let it sit....nothing. Very frustrated....
Did you ever got it started? I just bought a Echo SRM 2026 fill it with echo red armor fuel 50:1 it just won't start it started leaking oil from the muffler. I returned it got another one, just won't start either. I don't know what's the problem. I'm frustrated too.
@@BcIwantIt yeah, I did. They tell you to pump that little primer bulb 8 times, but 2 or 3 is plenty. More and it just gets flooded and definitely won’t start. Mine runs real good now, but I have the oil issue as well.
where do you get the hourmeters for your equipment from?
Hour Meter▶ amzn.to/3jQOPtQ
What rack is that you hang your trimmers on?
That would be great for my shed!!!
It seems to me it’s not Echo but the dealer could have and should have replaced the carburetor after the second time Especially for a commercial customer
Now I'm even more worried. Just bought a 225 :-( not more than 2 months ago. Mines a pas225 that came with the edger
I've had the oil leak problem with my pas225 since shortly after I bought it.
@@kfolse107 mine I'm noticing I have a little splatter on the orange cover after like 8 hours. But I just wipe it off not as bad as some I've seen
My friend said the same thing putting to much on mixing he use red armor so we learn from you not to buy no more 225 we use pas 225 and pas 2620 and two echo chainsaw 310 and 590 look like your oil is the green one
My oil is Amsoil Sabre and it’s blue in color. It’s awesome oil!
You had to be going through plugs like crazy.
Nope not at all.
I would like to know what kind of hour meter you us and where you get them??
Here is where I get them and the exact ones.
