2024 Nissan Titan Review: Still Worth Buying?

The 2024 Nissan Titan delivers a decent punch in a segment dominated by Detroit, with the likes of Ford, GM & RAM sitting pretty atop the full size truck segment. That said, Nissan is discontinuing the Titan in summer 2024 to retool its factory to produce other models, so this may be your last chance to snag one before they’re gone. For our review, we got our hands on this top of the line Platinum Reserve trim (the most expensive of only 3 trims available after Nissan axed the entry-level S trim for 2024), which stickers for more than $62,000 and comes equipped with the sole Titan engine available: a 5.6L V8 pumping out 400hp and 413lb ft of torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. That’s good for a zippy 6 seconds 0-60mph time.
You can customize your Titan in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations, and choose between a King Cab (2 doors with 6.6 foot bed) or Crew Cab (4 doors with 5.6 foot bed). Every Titan is capable of towing at least 9200 lbs and has a 1400lb payload capacity; both stats, though, trail its rivals. While this trim is decked out on the inside with lots of “luxury” appointments, the tech is still subpar with so-so design and an outdated look for a truck that climbs into the mid-$60K range after taxes and tags. But with the Titan on its way out, you may be able to grab one for quite a nice deal as dealers try to get them off their lots by year’s end. What do YOU think? Is this truck still worth checking out?

It is a shame that Nissan discontinued this truck. It is a good truck with a v8 engine and it is very affordable for the middle class. The big three have the prices of their trucks through the roof. The interest rates are very high. I couldn't buy an F150, Silverado, Ram or Tundra in December I was able to buy a Titan platinum reserve fully loaded msrp 70k I took it home with all the discounts and sales 59k out the door price in I love my truck the handling is very smooth and it feels like a real truck very strong in the highway and I don't mind putting premium gasoline because I plan to have this truck for many years. I really recommend the Nissan titan. It is one more option for the working class that dreams of having a truck. American people should try the Nissan titan. It is a durable truck. and it has a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. In fact, the dealer I bought it from has a warranty for the life of the truck. No one has this type of warranty. John Lee Nissan in Panama City Florida. The only thing is that you have to take the truck for maintenance anywhere. Nissan dealer so you are under warranty

You people that do reviews are the reason these truck prices keep going up. You dont speak for everyone. Most people dont want that extra stuff that could eventually break down. Its a reliable work and travel truck that will last a long time. I think that would be what most people want.

So for what it's worth, I just bought a Platinum Reserve. Did tons of research, looked at repair stats, looked at cost and warranty, and I am not someone who hauls rocks for a living. I wanted a RELIABLE full sized truck, this is the most reliable for sure. I didn't care about fuel economy but I am surprised at the 17mpg city I get with this, despite the power. It is far more truck than most of us need, but it's a great cruiser, and it's quite quick. Nissan is like Porsche in this particular regard, they are very conservative with their numbers. Everyone says it gets 7.5 seconds 0-60, but the Plat Reserve does it in 6 seconds, consistently. Maybe it's my tires and that I'm a better driver than most, but it's really no slouch. The interior fit and finish is great, better than the big 3 for the basic parts though I'd admit the RAM leather is nicer, but the seats in the Titan are way more comfy. The one ZONK I'll give it is the rear view camera, it's fine in the day but blurry at night, Nissan could have done better on that. Outside of that, buy it and enjoy the bulletproof reliability while you save 20K over the nearest competitor. Put the savings toward many other things including wheel upgrades and a Stillen exhaust and you are STILL ahead by thousands. 100K warranty - bumper to bumper. You can get the Nissan Bed step, it's easy. While your neighbor with the sharp F150 goes to the shop every 5 months, you can cruise by in your Titan and enjoy life. Worth it!

Got one of these 2 months ago and absolutely love it. Last truck a Ram, before that a Silverado. These are built in Canton, Mississippi.

The last of the V8 trucks with no culinder deactivation and no auto start/stop. Its not overloaded on tech either. And it has a 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty. These new trucks are so overloaded with tech. I just saw a 2024 titan XD pro4x fully loaded with heated and cooled leather seats, fender audio and panoraic glass roof for 53k. It only had 2,400 miles on it. Thats cheaper than a stripped down base model half ton with cloth seats from Ford/GM/Ram and Toyota, plus no turbos, no cylinder deactivation and no auto start/stop.

Currently on my 4th new Titan. Just picked up a XD PR in the fall. Never had any issues with any of them. Only complaint is it never passes up a gas station, but i didn't buy it for fuel economy. As others stated, warranty, incentives and 0% financing can't be beat.

Don't need the laptop screen that distracts from driving that the others have. Nissan designed a truck for the everyday user....they weren't designing a truck that has a dash that looks like a flight simulator

  • @AB-coyote
    @AB-coyote Před 4 měsíci +7

    This guy doesn’t know trucks.
You said it yourself. EVERY Titan is rated to tow over 9,000 lbs. The Big 3 advertise max tow ratings for their stripped models. Go load up a Silverado 1500 with all options and their big 6.2 engine. Guess where the tow capacity ends up? 9000 ish lbs just like the Titan. Nissan is the most realistic with their ratings. Payload is also in line with other loaded trucks.
You kept trying to emphasize that the Titan is overpriced. Again go compare a loaded truck from the big 3. They are all 80k+. Do they have more tech? Sure. And their price reflects that. The Titan is not over priced at all in todays world.
You said no bed step 🤦‍♂️ Nissan actually pioneered the idea of having an additional step and that truck in this test had one on the driver side. Simpler and easier to get in the bed than Fords tailgate step.
The Titan may only have that V8 but it has basically the same power as all of its gas V8 1/2 ton competition. And what makes you think it’s less reliable? You haven’t done an ounce of research if you believe that. GM has issues on top of issues with their prior 6 and 8 speed transmissions. Don’t get me started about the AFM / DFM issues. I’m sure you don’t know what that is.
RAMs have lifter issues with a motor that’s been out since 2009. Ford is hit or miss with their Ecoboost. The Titan is among the most reliable in the truck world.
Tesla people defintely don’t know trucks.

I personally hate giants tablets put in vehicles now, I find them obnoxious and distracting. That is the perfect size to me. I absolutely love that it has buttons for everything. Storage and drink space is better than most. V8!! Keep your turbo 6's.

My brother literally got a new f150 at a higher trim level with more advanced features, full crew cab, heated mirrors and backup camera, patriot blue, for $20,000 less than the Titan. That’s why he chose the ford because Nissan was overpriced.

Nissan will work on the prices and they are regularly like $10k off of MSRP around here with special financing. I got a 2022 with 48k miles on it for only about $29k out the door with lots of features. I could get a new one for around $44k OTD.
The big 3 and Toyota tend to be far more expensive by a large margin. You won't even touch a V8 ford with all of the safety features, adaptive cruise control, camera, and heated mirrors for less than about $55k. You could get a higher trim Titan on comparison with what that costs.
As long as your brother is happy with what he's bought, then that's all that matters.

Tthis dude laments about things and stuff that people who buy theae types of trucks are just NOT interested in. When the price is compared to the others in this class, it definitely makes it the most affordable, and with it's bumper to bumper warranty, this Titan is a steal of a deal, as with the savings over it's competition you can basically do whatever uograde you might desire and still make a saving. Bear in mind that this V8 has been proven over the years to be positively bulletproof. Stick to Tesla dude.
