Since my channel is mostly based on miraculous ladybug, I am glad to see other people making videos about it and the show gaining popularity. You should start watching all the episodes but you can skip season 1 (watch only the episodes starting from 23).

This episode is ranked low because it's basically a flashback episode. Of course you would feel confused, because this is the 19th episode of season 3. This episode serves to demonstrate how the characters have evolved through the episodes, with some having changed and others haven't changed at all. Also, I love how you immediately feel bad about Sabrina. Trust me, the way Chloé treats Sabrina by that time is just her at her nicest phase.
and then there are times where the sympathy for Sabrina goes out the window, because she's suddenly written to be just as mean as Chloe
@@martylaren11 Sabrina is a people pleaser. She is just mean in order to please Chloé. If you remove Chloé off the picture, Sabrina is actually quite a pleasant girl... even if she still can't help but to try to please others.

People don't like the episode because it's a recap episode, that's why there are so many random scenes, they are from past episodes. The point of Stormy Weather 2 was just a recap to reflect how far the show has come, and see how the characters have improved.

Some context for Chloe: her mom's abusive and neglectful (key points: not remembering her daughter's actual name and saying "the only thing exceptional about you is your mother"), and Chloe thinks that the only way to get her mom's affection is to be just like her.
Chloe was in the midst of having a redemption arc, where she was becoming a better person, but then Astruc decided "no, she's going to be evil forever" and pulled a 180 on that and insisted that Chloe wasn't abused and that she was actually going through a "condemnation arc" instead.
Not to mention redeeming Andre, who enabled her abuse and was the most corrupt mayor I've ever seen, and Gabriel, who was an abuser and a literal villain, because two grown men who did terrible things are more redeemable than a teenage girl who was honestly trying to be better and grow before Astruc decided to be stupid.
It's weird how much an adult can have hatred for a fictional teen girl on his own show and who is not nearly the worst person on it.

Just to let you know. The akuma are the dark butterflies. But the little creatures that turn them into heroes are *Kwamis.* (Go lower if you want an explanation of the love square)
Also, Ladybug & Cat Noir don't know each other's identities. And this is how the love square is:
Adrien/Chat Noir: in love with Ladybug. Sees Marinette as a friend.
Marinette/Ladybug: in love with Adrien. Sees Chat Noir as a crime fighting partner.
And to add to the confusion, they also have episodes where Cat Noir and Marinette are "falling for wach other" since Marinette thinks Adrien is unobtainable and Cat Noir thinks Lady Bug is unobtainable. Square of Headaches all because "it'll be disastrous should they learn each other's secret identities."

I recommend watching Origins pt 1 and pt 2 next because they tell the story right from the beginning and after that you can pretty much dive into any episode (relative to s1,s2 and s3 ; it's not a good idea to dip straight into a s4 or s5 episode as they are more plot heavy and you'd be as confused as hell). As a Miraculer since 2016 (tbh I still have no heckin' idea what's happening) I was very impressed by how much you got right in the out of context vid.
16:15 the thing is that the scarf was actually Marinette’s gift for Adrien, she made it herself but she didn’t got the chance to give it to him at school so she went at his home and had to leave it in the mailbox (27:14). But bc Nathalie (the assistant) didn’t find a gift for Adrien (his father had ordered her to find him a gift “from him”) so she offered him Marinette’s scarf and told him his dad made it for him, that’s why Marinette looks surprised when he said that his dad made it.
And if you wanna know why she didn’t told him it was bc his was happy thinking his dad did smt for him (for once).

The way I verbally groaned once you announced what episode it was lol. We were so hyped because of what happened in Stormy Weather, so we expected this to be an exciting episode. But then it ended up being an entire recap episode and it was sooo boring 😭😭
Also, I'm loving your reactions! I'd love to see you watch the entire show (if you're interested). You should definitely watch origins next. It explains everything you need to know about Miraculous. It would be a great start to actually watching and understanding the show ❤️😄

In terms of other episodes to react to you should really watch Desperada!
This episodes was mainly intended to remind people of the details about the characters and how some of them have changed, but also to re-introduce plot points for future episodes and summaries the events seen in previous episodes to remind others about main details they might not have caught onto. Some like the episode cause they had a hard time keeping up , some don’t since they already know everything that's summarized, but all and all, it’s normal to have these kinds of episodes. With this show, it’s important to pay attention to the subtle things in order to make sense of the story.
If I had the chance to rewrite the entire lore and story of Miraculous, I'd do it in a heartbeat, without getting sued of course.

I saw Stormy Weather in the thumbnail and was like “What?? Worst?? Stormy Weather is the episode that I realized how awesome they are as heroes…” When you said Stormy Weather 2 I was like, “Oh, yeah.” 😅 The clip episode was annoying but I HATED the cop out ending where they just defeat her with no explanation on how. And to answer about the Earth still being moved, part of Ladybug’s power is she summons something to help her defeat the villain, she throws it in the air after everything and calls out “Miraculous Ladybug!” and it reverses any damage caused by the situation.
Every time I see a miraculous ladybug video (especially from Matthew) I get so excited that it physically hurts 🙏 I love these videos man

the reason why ladyybug gave chloe a mircaulous is because she had a redemption arc at the end of season 2 and became a better person, then in season 3 the writers changend and they randomly decided to remove all of her character development and make her bad again and they even introduced her stepsister who is just her but good :/

This was one of those mid season, recap episodes. No wonder it was rated so poorly. They needed to get to the good stuff. We were all just waiting to get back to the lore of the Akuma's and seeing if they would date 😂
16:06 Marinette made that scarf for Adrien and gave it to Natalie to give it to Adrien. But Natalie forgot to buy a gift that gabriel had asked her to, so she removed the card that Marinette had attached with her gift and gave it to adrien telling it was from his dad. Marinette didnt say anything because of how happy adrien was
That was the episode that made me believe Natalie was one of the main villains of the show. She took an innocent girl's birthday present, took out the card, and told her surrogate son that his father, who never put any effort in taking care of him, got him that scarf
If you ever want to watch the series, then you need to be careful the order you use to watch it. ZAG uses different studios to animate the episodes and, because of that, many air out of order (sometimes WAY out of order). That is not concerning for most of season 1 (that has self-centered episodes), but for the others... Well, I totally recommend you to follow the production code order. That is the safest order to watch the series.

The reason Chloe is so awful is because the creator of the show (a grown man) is obsessed with his childhood bully. Whether taking all that hate out on a fictional teenage girl is good or bad is up to the viewer, but it's the facts. 🤷♀
“He did that so fruity”…..yeah that’s part of why I like Cat Noir. As a gay guy I always appreciate when shows allow male characters not be stereotypical guy characters. I have lots of straight friends who were bullied in school for being somewhat different than the stereotype and of course every queer person, including myself, has endured that. So here’s this male character whose in a love square with the main female character and when he’s in his superhero form he’s just totally allowed to be himself, fruity gestures and all. I don’t know if any of that was intentional by the animators and storytellers, but considering even Marinette relaxes and just is herself in superhero form, too, I think my interpretation isn’t too off the mark. I mean most artists I’ve ever met, regardless of the artform, have been bullied for not fitting into stereotypes and being different and trying to live their lives authentically so it wouldn’t surprise me if the writers, animators, etc of the show were channeling some of that into this show. Art doesn’t usually stray too far from the artists’ lived experiences in drawing inspiration.
I didn’t even realize this was considered the worst episode, though I can totally understand why. And yeah, as someone who is a hobby writer I don’t like it when shows just resolve an issue without giving any details and explanations. Seeing this episode again and when you stopped and asked your friend about the plan with the volcano I started laughing because it reminded me of when I watched this episode with my niece and was just like “Wait, wait, wait. Hold up. What did she just say her plan is?” Because even I thought I misunderstood or misheard her in that moment. Even my niece was like “that doesn’t sound like how that would work.” As an American who is at least familiar enough with the metric system due to a job I had, including using Celsius, I just shake my head when I hear the -40°C. Like I just am not believing that’s the temperature in that moment with everything happeninf. -40°F…sure I’d believe that although news lady still without a heavy coat seems unlikely. A couple years ago it got to -32°F where I live in the US and I was bundles up! I wore a pair of sweatpants, a pair of slacks, a pair of jeans, two sweatshirts, a sweater, a hoodie, two winter coats, two beanie hats, earmuffs (and then both hoods on the winter coats on top of that), two scarves, and three sets of gloves along with my nonslip shoes to go out and shovel snow from my driveway and chip ice off my car so I could go to work…….and while ice storms are common that much snow and it being that cold is definitely not common here! I mean we stop selling winter coats in storms by February because March is literally the start of thunderstorm and tornado season (March-October). To see that reporter standing there in what looks like what we’d call a spring jacket and wind scarf where I live in the US and it’s supposed to be -40°C….uh, either the temperature she’s reporting is wrong or she’s one really tough lady and should be a superhero herself rather than a news reporter! Is she from Alaska or something because I didn’t think it gets that cold in France. It usually doesn’t get that cold where I live. People in my neighboring state of Texas literally died because it got so unusually cold (and they didn’t even get the snow and ice we did) because in this part of the US we just don’t build or prepare for temperatures like that! And here’s this reporter lady out there just being okay in it with an outfit that looks like it’s for mild weather! Like that reporter needs a huge raise for surviving that! LOL
When they are superheroes, their true personality shines through, but when they are just citizens, they both tend to let their insecurities and relationships change how they act.

At some point I would love to see you react to the 2-part Origin episodes, and maybe some episodes from season 1. Episodes in the later seasons focus more on the relationships (which are what you've watched so far), while season 1 focuses more on the superhero-action stuff that you mentioned you're missing out on.

I feel like after suffering through this one, Mathew deserves to see the original Stormy Weather
They actually did show the Earth being put into place, and it’s because of Ladybug’s power, in which she throws her lucky charm into the air and disperses it into miraculous ladybugs that restore things that were damaged or altered in the chaos. So when the Earth gets moved or something is destroyed beyond repair it gets fixed in the end as long as Ladybug is able to properly disperse it
This chapter is literally just a recap, AT THE MIDDLE OF THE THIRD SEASON, you can guess why it's the worst rated, no one needed this (People who watched the show at the time were the ones who have seen it since the beggining)

as a fan of the show, these miraculous ladybug reaction videos are SO FUNNY. i would absolutely watch more of them. it's honestly impressive how much of the lore you've managed to put together from what you've seen!! if you want to get a feel for the basic premise (like, what their superpowers are, how akumatization/"evilizing" works, etc) i would recommend watching origins, or, if you don't feel like a two-parter, almost any episode from season 1. the bubbler, mr. pigeon, and stormy weather are pretty basic starter-pack episodes; dark cupid, copycat, and the evillustrator have some fun and interesting dynamics going if you're up for that; and i would stay away from timebreaker, the puppeteer, and volpina, because they're confusing without context. whether you decide to watch more or not, this was so fun!!! thanks for the laughs :)

You *can* skip most of season 1, since almost none of them advance the plot, but why would you? Season 1 has some of the best akuma designs (and some pretty bad ones, but later seasons have more of those). The animation quality is also more consistent, and there are some really good episodes, like Evillustrator, Darkblade (English dub, only for Adrien's pun at the end), and Origins.
Also, the episode order isn't the same everywhere. The season finale is Volpina, but 23-25 vary a lot. By production order you're including Origins 2 (not Origins 1?!), Antibug, and Kung Food. In the US, they're Reflekta, Puppeteer, and Antibug, but some broadcasters used production order.
In France TFOU put Origins as the season finale, after Simon Says and Volpina. Disney Channel put Volpina back at the end, after Rogercop, Puppeteer and Antibug.
Disney Channel UK had the "interesting" idea of releasing Volpina in the middle of the season, so the last 4 episodes are Pixelator, Antibug, and Origins 1&2. On Disney channel they replaced Origins with Reflekta and Volpina.
In Brazil, Gloob released Princess Fragrance before origins and Volpina.
Portugal had The Mime as the season finale for some reason, after Origins and Volpina.
Switzerland had Guitar Villain for 23.

So about the love square, the mask allows them to be themselves. As Ladybug, Marinette can be confident because nobody knows who she is. As Chat Noir, Adrien can be as silly as he wants, since he isn't an Agreste anymore, so he doesn't have to be perfect. So they have different personalities. Basically, Ladybug is the "perfect" version of Marinette and Adrien is the "perfect" version of Chat Noir. Both of them have a crush on the "perfect" version of the other. Marinette/Ladybug has a crush on Adrien and sees Chat Noir only as a friend; Adrien/Chat Noir has a thing for Lady Bug and considers Marinette as a friend and nothing more.

Personally my favorite part of the show is that battle sequences, they.use great animation and are just fun to watch so that what I would recommend. ( This might because I am biased and enjoy the banter between Chat and Ladybug)
Because they have the whole 3D map, they can do some camera movements that other shows can't do. That 'POV from over the character's shoulder as they move from one room to the other' is one of the things that caught me.

the thing with the earth is that when ladybug uses her "lucky charm" it gives her an object to defeat the villain and after they defeat them she can use that object to fix everything the villain has caused so the earth went back to it's og position

"Are you willing to harm your kid?" Yep. Theres an episode in S5 (Kwami's Choice Part 2) that Hawkmoth manages to get ahold of the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses and tries to unify them. Plagg decides Nope. destroys the ring and himself technically. Tikki sends a lucky charm to Marinette and they (Marinette, Adrien and the whole class) attack Hawkmoth so that Ladybug can get her earrings back. Adrien is the one to snatch the earrings back and Hawkmoth looks ready to Murder his son at that moment had it not been a childrens show LOL he legit stands up to go and grab him but he gets tackled by other kids lmfao
Actually, The little floaty beings that work with the miraculous are called quamis, the akumas are actually just something produced by the butterfly miraculous in way of granting abilities to others.

The things that can talk are kwamis, and the butterflies are the akumas that make people's anger into villans. Kwamis help transform the main characters into super heroes. Miraculouses are jewelry that also help transform the holders/owners into super heroes
At the end of every episode when the villain is defeated Ladybug’s lucky charm makes everything goes back to Normal.
And the reason they can’t know eachother’s identities cause they’re miraculous are the most powerful miraculouses. So incase 1 of them got akumatize they get tell hawk moth who the other is

1. Akuma is the dark butterfly, not the other things. The little magic creatures are kwamis.
2. Natalie knows adrians dad is hawk moth but she doesn't see him as a villan because she knows why he really wants the miraculous from cat noir and ladybug.
3. The reason Gabrielle seems super controlling over adrian is because he trys to be extremely protective of him for the same kind of reason he's hawk moth. He does care about Adrian but is too busy trying to fix past mistakes instead of being there for him in the moment.
But Gabriel is abusive... Not as abusive as colt

So, I'm sure some others already have said this, but one of Ladybug's powers is the "miraculous ladybug" which fixes all damage from the villain by throwing her summoned object into the air and saying those words. That's why everything was fixed without explanation. It's been a constant throughout the show. Hope this helps. :)
That being said, yeah, that end is still crap because we wanna know how she ended the battle.
The love square is basically marinette is ladybug and she likes adrien, and adrien is chat noir and he likes ladybug.

Regarding how to rearrange Earth back into its orbit was that, you saw those red ladybugs flying around unfreezing Chloe and Sabrina, moving earth back to its place, etc. that’s how the show did it, you see, ladybug miraculous holds the power of creation and her “miraculous ladybug” power can revert anything (literally anything) to how it was before, over an extended period of time (like before the battle started or before she de-transformed). So, in this context, ladybug was able to bring Chloe and Sabrina back before they’re frozen and revert everything back to normal including making a volcano disappear because it wasn’t there originally.
Car noir likes ladybugs and ask her many times but ladybugs always says no bc she wants Adrian so actUALLY

26:14 Ladybug's lucky charm fixes everything that happened during a battle with an akumatised villain. She throws it into the air, yells "lucky charm" and everything gets magically fixed. Did your whole family get horrifically crushed by a building? Lucky charm's got your back. So on and forth.
Also hawkmoth's kwami isn't an akuma, akuma means demon/devil in japanese. So the dark butterflies are akumas.
