  • I finally picked up one of the highly awaited Parker G2 style Jetstream refills, the SXR-600-07 ( amzn.to/2xxHpmu ). People have being waiting for this one for a long time, especially EDC people who use machined pens that often take a Parker style refill. Yes, this means a Jetstream refill in your Rotring 600 ( amzn.to/2NwEwfG ), Parker Jotter ( amzn.to/2xwwB8g ), etc.
    More details: unsharpen.com/...
    It's sold in a 0.5mm and 0.7mm (SXR-600-05 and SXR-600-07) and are only available in Japan for now. To be fair, they have been available for a few months but I didnt't want to pay the shipping so I held off.
    If you can't find them on your local Amazon (I can't) then you can try Rakuten or Ebay. I bought mine from Ebay.

    The SXR-600 is one of those rare refills that made me think "WOW! That was totally worth the $8-10!" - It made a number of my Parker-style refill pens "usable" again. FYI--the standard Jetstream refill, without modification, will fit in:
    - All of my Zebra Sarasa bodies, including the grand
    - All of my Energel bodies, including the Alloy
    - All Uniball Signo (207/307) and Paper Made Inkjoy gel bodies
    Also, I use a very slightly trimmed Jetstream refill in both my Karas Pen Co Ink and Retrakt pens. I haven't tried it in the Render K but I have to assume it'll work there as well.

      Since you have some good idea about these, how do they last compared to a standard refill? Are these like a gel pen that you finish quite quickly or it's oil based ink like in a Parker?

    Got a few of these SXR-600-07 refills for use in a Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age ballpoint, which (naturally) shipped with a Visconti Smartouch cartridge. Both are very good, but I have long had a preference for Jetstream pens in the ballpoint world and the Jetstream cartridge performs exactly as I had expected it to. Having a ballpoint pen to go with my Visconti HSBA fountain pen that writes just like the Jetstream RT I keep on my desk at home means a lot to me, and I'm very happy with it.

    Got my SXR600s, in 0.7 / 0.5 AND 0.38 (oh yes). They write amazingly and the 0.7 is comparable to the classic disposable pens that uniball produces. My only complaint is that they haven't yet introduced a blue colour (or any other for that matter apart from black). Other than that, it is classic JetStream and works as advertised.

    I just picked up a couple of these 0.7's on Ebay. I was testing out my Jetstreams I've kept in storage, and though the pens' shape and weight aren't my preference the refill performed as well as the schmidt easyflow9000.
    I didn't give the jetstream much of a chance because they weren't swappable either, but after this quick test I think they have the potential to be an easyflow contender for me, which says a lot.
    This is a big release.

    I still prefer Parker Quink refills as I like some traction plus with Quink I can just not press for thin line and press a little harder and get thicker line; Jetstream is good for easier writing and surely will get cheaper as time goes but I cannot get variation in line and since it is hybrid ink it will deplete much quicker. Works well in one of my fave pens Parker Urban ballpoint pens. (much more comfortable then Jotters)

      @calebwhite6173 Před 2 lety

      I like the classic Parker pen. Skinny feels good in the hand. To each their own on comfort. I found the Parker gel pens are my favorite at the moment. I write very quickly and the low drag just makes it a joy on paper.

  • @LouisWinthorpe622
    @LouisWinthorpe622 Před 2 měsíci

    These are pretty pricey and I think the Schmidt Easyflow 9000 rolls smoother but the Jetstream is smooth and I think the black ink is darker than what's in the Schmidt.
    I just took delivery of a pen I've liked the look and feel of, since childhood but it took me a long time to get round to looking for one for myself: a Parker 45 Flighter. So I put the Jetstream in that and I can already tell I will be using that one a lot.

      @xderiwx Před 4 lety

      @@unsharpen Thank you! I've seen people say the SXR writes smaller than what the size is listed as. Has this been true for you? Does the 0.7 write smaller than what you expect from a "0.7"? Is it noticeably smaller than the EasyFlow M?

    • @andrew01stevens
      @andrew01stevens Před rokem +1

      The Jetstream dries much quicker, has a bold black line, and isn't as prone to smearing as the EasyFLOW 9000 M. It isn't as prone to skipping like the EasyFLOW 9000 M is based on my experience with both refills. I actually threw out several unreturnable Schmidt EasyFLOW 9000 M refills, because of the incessant skipping and I also had to "warm-up" the tip on scratch paper or a tissue to get them to write, after setting them down for even a short amount of time. The Jetstream doesn't require "warming-up"
