    • @Cereal_Killr
      @Cereal_Killr Před rokem

      What CPU do you mean by older. I would not go to a 4080 with a lacking CPU as you will just bottleneck it and starve it from getting the frames it needs. Thus limiting the card...making it not fully usable.

    • @gerrypi51

      I have the same question: Will the graphics performance of the RTX 4080/16GB with the current old CPU Intel I7-6800 / RAM 32GB be significantly worse compared to an I9 CPU? (currently have GTX1060). Use exclusively for Davinci Resolve/Adobe and MSFS.

      @@gerrypi51 get a 4080 now and then upgrade few months from now to a Ryzen 7000 x3D CPU with VCache. That's going to be an insanely performant Microsoft Flight Simulator setup! The 4080 should be mostly unconstrained in video editing even on an older CPU in the meantime.

      @@briancollins6974 Definitely... people always forget that MSFS is a primarily CPU-dependent simulator. I have a Ryzen 7 2700 and it's maxed out playing MSFS at Ultra while my RTX 2060 sits at about 40%... so the CPU is the bottleneck in most scenarios.

    • @simon3461
      @simon3461 Před rokem +2

      @@briancollins6974 Yes for sure - if you have only a slow Ryzen 5000 or an old 10900K you will get slightly less FPS. But the DLSS3 frames are generated by the GPU itself, so they don't need CPU horsepower for it. Therefore I think the difference won't be huge with a slow CPU.

    Hey I've got an issue with my 4080 I believe! I'm using the Ultra preset with TLOD and OLOD at 100, when I'm at KLAX (payware airport from ini builds) I get severe stutters when panning and moving scenes quickly but I maintain a stable 90fps when looking one way. It doesn't matter what plane I'm using the Fenix or a 172 the issue persists. When I look at the graphs at the top right I have 13.8/14.0 GB of VRAM usage on my GPU and when I do the quick movements the GPU MS time peaks and goes from like 12ms to 160ms and the whole graph turns red as a result. By turning down my TLOD to 10 the stutters are gone but I sure believe that a 1600$ graphics card should be able to do more than just 10 on the terrain level of detail. (I'm also running DX12 with FG and TAA). Im not a PC noob by any means but is there any solution to this problem?

      Set all profiles in windows to game/high performance, also do this in any motherboard app you might run.

    I am very curious how this would perform with a Ryzen 9 5900x, 32GB @ 3600MHz . I am currently running a RTX 2080Ti and the number of frames I get are always in the low 20's with add ons. I have been eyeing the 4090 but seeing that has been out of stock constantly, my second option would be the 4080 but I do not want to drop money on a new GPU if my current specs will just hold back the new GPU. NVIDIA frame generator seems like it does the trick for the flight sim.

      Yes but you need smoothness and more chance of that with a 4080 and a 4090.

      Also, for VR smoothness is very important

      ofc but when you add vatsim in an event + Fenix + for example inbuild EGLL you quickly lose a lot of frames that's where a 4080 would be welcomed

      @@franckcagnes6370 Even with a 11900k, Z590, 64GB RAM, RTX4080, 1GB/s Cable Broadband & FS2020 running on gen4 NVME I still only get 40-60 FPS at EGLL. It doesnt make much difference either if I switch in my RTX3080 getting similar figures.
