Yeah totally agree, i actually created my account back in 2018 but never really had the urge to play Fortnite cause i simply was having fun with other games, then somehow i decided to just login in c2s4 (marvel season) and that time i literally only played 1 match and claimed the thor contrail from the first bp page, that‘s literally it,and now that i have fully come back and started playing this game in c4s2, the regret of missing my favs like iron man, mandalorian,vader, spiderman, deadpool, midas,drift is insane like thinking i couldve had them all.. my brain hurts everytime this pops up while im playing fn
I tottaly agree with the crossover skins in battle passes, at first I thought it was a cool idea, but now it's just annoying since people who just started playing Fortnite will never get their favorite character from another franchise.
A bit late to this video but, an idea I thought of is for example let’s say u want the original Spider-Man, they could put him in the shop as a bundle and when u purchase it, u get his base style, pickaxe, and backbling, then u get quests attached to him so the quests can be like level up this many times so that people who buy still have to work to do and buying battle pass levels would not count on those level up quests and each one that u complete gives u one of his rewards like his glider, gun wrap, and the final two rewards would be his black suit and white suit. And the ogs will still exclusively own the super styles. That way people will be happy to own these things and ogs can keep some exclusivity to the skin.
Emotes on the other hand I don’t know, I can honestly go without the emotes I missed. But the main point is that it’s crazy to think how many such iconic characters are locked away forever.
Alternative, Maybe they can use a similar system to the refund tickets but for battle passes, so u have 3 tickets to get a previous battle pass but each ticket u use costs the normal 950, and when u use the tickets u have to wait a til next year so for example if u spend all 3 tickets u have to wait til 2025, the second ticket 2026, then 2027 for third one. That way people still can work towards skins they want but there’s a limit, on top of all that u would only be able to work to tier 100 of the pass so no bonus rewards.
I guess for secret skins maybe make be like level up quests packs or something.
What my solution is: Every chapter they make an OG season and instead of making an OG pass they let you grind out a base battle pass from anyone you want from the past but not the bonus rewards, and every 100 levels you get during the season you have an option to spend another 950 v bucks to get another base battle pass. This will technically give OG's a special style since you can't get the bonus rewards and styles anymore and the only thing that wouldn't count as a bonus reward would be the challenges for the collab skins. (I feel like this would be the best compromise)
I have a video I’m going to upload soon going over another possible compromise but this is a very good option as well. It makes a lot of sense too since they are planning on bringing back the OG Season at some point.

need more people talking about this, there are so many youtubers that hate this idea because of how entitled they are.
Yeah I’ll never understand that mentality. There’s no real value in these skins so trying to hold them back from others would just be selfish at the end of the day.
I think a perfect trade off would be that Battle Passes can be ran through after conception and completion, but nobody can unlock the prestige styles like we have this season with Titanflame and such. Those styles go back all the way to Chapter 2 Season 1, so there's absolutely worth in keeping those special extra styles in the vault but releasing the actual skins and cosmetics from the Battle Pass as a rerun sort of system
YES I 100% agree with you. It doesn't affect you if other people want to access old battlepass and get skins that they missed out on. I started playing this year in mid March CH 5 Season 2 and did not get to get Helsie, Selene or Dusty from CH 4 Season 1 when I found out they were battlepass only. I really think they need to do something like this cuz then everyone will be content with getting skins they couldn't get, such as Spider Gwen too. I really like your system and me and my bae 100% agree with you. I hope they bring them back because it feels depressing to know I can't get Helsie and her reskin isn't good compared to her original which I have been wanting for two months now since I began playing. They could just do the system where they let you grind old battlepasses and then you can get the skins you want. I think making it available a year after is good too, but I feel like for the older chapters they could at least do that now. I understand they want FOMO but it really is stupid and it could cause more people to leave if they find out the skins they like are no longer available. But it's also like you said, they never specifically said that they are only exclusive to battlepass. Oh and they took out rarities recently so I'm really hoping and crossing my fingers that this gives a chance for old battlepasses and collabs to return. I feel like even for Fortnite Crew, not being able to get the older crew skins sucks too. My bae missed out on Joni, for example. But yeah sorry for the rant, but this has been bothering me since I started playing. I understand it is just a skin in a game but to be denied access to a skin that is only battlepass is just depressing and needs to change.

Chapter 4 has a lot of my favorite cosmetics and I'm sad becuase I played the game twice in chapter 4 season 1 but never bought the Battle Pass because I was invested in different games and thought Battle Pass cosmetics could come back.

While yes I would ABSOLUTELY love to have the doom guy skin, or iron man to play as in Fortnite and hit the griddy. At least appreciate the popular IP skins obtainable through the item shop. Like futurama, jjk, TMNT, Avatar, Dragon Ball, spiderverse,and soon more and more skins to come.

Old battle passes because they didn't say the season was exclusive, but they did They did say the battery passed was exclusive to that season but thing I have a problem with they bring back the old g season. They run back season 3 season, 45 and 6 and 7 and 8, but they did not bring back the battle pass for them seasons. It just doesn't make no sense because you can bring them seasons back but not bring back the battle pass from that season when you said the battle of pass was exclusive to the season. I agree with your opinions, ive also been playing since the old days and had the first battle pass as well (didnt finish it though), but finished the rest of the chapter 1 passes. And everything should come back, and the purple skull and pink ghoul should just be given to everybody at this point because the pandering to the crybaby "OGs" needs to stop. I would like it more if you could grind them past their time frame, but i wouldnt mind if they sold them in the shop. It would be lame and money hungry, but i would rather that than them staying exclusive. Also actual "exclusive" skins you didnt mention in this video like the galaxy or ikonik should also return, even if its just through another collaboration, like another collab with galaxy phones would be the same skin, instead of a new one, or heck just give them early access and let it be a shop skin or cosmetic in the future. Same goes with like playstation pack exclusives, console exclusives, all of that
I agree that exclusives should come back but I think what you said about doing another collab with the same company for the exclusives is a better way. For example the galaxy skin needed a Note 9 phone to get, well they should do it if you buy whatever the most recent Note phone is will get you access to the Galaxy skin and maybe even Ikonik. So it stays exclusive but it’s still possible to get. My main issue was always the idea that there is literally no way to get these skins now. I think a marketplace could work too. No trading so there isn’t any way for ppl to use it to scam or convert to real money, just selling for vbucks. It would also keep those skins limited since only a certain amount of people could have it. If there was a battle pass skin you REALLY wanted you could at least buy it still in the market place as I’m sure there would be people who sell old skins they don’t use and would like some vbucks in return. This would prob be epics best choice to keep everyone happy.

Listen I want Max out purple Omega, but I didn't start till chapter 1 season 5 so i missed out but that's just life. You miss out on opportunity and will regret someday that you didn't get it done sooner, so I suggest Epic Games should gate keep the skins but not entirely I think adding a market place like CSGO or R6 would be very beneficial for people like me that would love to have purple maxed out Omega. I understand your argument

Sorry mate, but I can't agree with you. Epic games made skins should be exclusive to battle pass and if you didn't get it, it is what it is. I missed out on some things to but I aint complaining. The only thing i ahree with are collabs skins. Those van be sold separately in the item shop again for people if they missed out. But like i said epic original skins from battle passes can't. That is my opinion.

Find where it ever says battle pass skins are exclusive? I’ve looked all over the official website and it’s never been stated as exclusive from what I can find. The player base just assumes it’s exclusive as there has never been a time they did bring back old passes. It will happen one day so I’d get used to the idea of battle passes returning eventually. Many other games have done it. It would be a huge opportunity for Epic to make a lot of revenue from old passes. It doesn’t benefit them to keep them gone forever!

As someone who used to think this way, I realized it’s a stupid and pretty selfish way of thinking. Also if no one criticizes these battle pass systems, nothing would ever change. You need to complain and “whine”, otherwise nothing will ever change. This is bigger than just Fortnite. Battle passes in games are getting ridiculous and it’s only going to get worse at this rate.

@@vlipor This exact mentality is exactly the reason nothing will change. It doesn't hurt the players experience at all if battle pass items return. Pushing for this only helps players. Though my main reason for making this video was to address the sad, selfish mentality people have. Gatekeeping pixels on a screen that have 0 value is wild to me. And this is coming from someone who has all passes and used to think exactly like that. With 29 battle passes now, it soon won't even make sense for Epic to keep battle passes permanently gone. A lot of money to be made there. Same reason why they didn't make the OG mode permanent. They want to use it as a carrot on a stick to keep people coming back. They could also just keep the "extra styles" for going beyond level 100 as exclusive to players who played during the original season and it would be fine as well.

@@vlipor What you fail to realize is there are more ways to have exclusivity than just "its gone forever too bad". Timed exclusivity for an undisclosed amount of time does the same thing when it comes to giving a sense of exclusivity to skins. You can already see them do this with things like the Fortnite Crew and Festival Passes and especially the item shop...a system that is known to not be exclusive yet people still treat things that don't return for a while as exclusive . Even if its a couple years, that creates the sense of exclusivity and from a business perspective this is a far better solution than "gone forever" since you make initial sales and then create hype and this false sense of "rarity" since something hasnt returned for a while...then release it and make even more sales.
The only time I think "exclusives" are entirely ok, is when they are actually exclusives like the Galaxy skin since you had to buy a $1k phone to gain access to that. A battle pass is only 950 vbucks and really the main progression of the game, locking it forever isn't the same Imo.
Isnt an exclusive OG battlepass skin the same thing as like CSGO having a 10 years of service coin? Youre basicslly making the argument, "this guy has a 10 year coin. I have only been playing for 5 years but theyre dumb for gatekeeping the 10 year coin, so they need to give me it right now." No, he purchased the game 10 years ago and started playing it, you played 5 years ago, you dont get the coin. Its like buddy, you missed out on a skin bc you didnt play or buy the battle pass, move on with your life there are other cool skins you can use. Im actually the exact opposite of you. I think every single battlepass should be exclusive to its season. That way if you see someone with a skin from battlepass season 5, you know thats where they got it from and were playing during that period. And i dont think battlepass skins should ever be in the item shop, and vice versa.
A coin in CS is a small thing in comparison to a skin. A coin’s equivalent in Fortnite would be a banner. For example the battle bus banner which you got from reaching lvl 20 in season 1. The coin example is also something you kinda earned. A battle pass skin is something you paid for. That example doesn’t really work too because it specifically says “10 years” on the coin where as a skin has nothing to do with the original season it released in, its only timed exclusive to make people pay up or grind hard before times up.
My issue is mostly with how ppl think about “rare” skins. If it wasn’t for this mentality by many people in the community, I do believe Epic would have already brought these skins back.
This isn’t the same thing as if someone actually earned a skin by some sort of in game achievement. Like with the “omega lights” the Season 4 tier 100 skin had a style for getting level 80 in that season, I’d be fine with those small things being exclusive but an entire skin is ridiculous.
Someone else having a skin in a video game doesn’t take away from your experience. Something like a calling card or in Fortnite’s case a banner, for playing a certain season makes more sense than a whole skin.

i lost my account that had the battle pass from season 4 to chapter 3 season 2 so I agree with this what they should do is get a unique banner or emote instead of just gatekeeping the entire battle pass
