Jason being afraid of water inconsistency really throwed fans off.
I don't think Jason is afraid of water in this. I'm pretty sure Freddy just tapped into the fear Jason felt when he was drowning as a kid.
Kinda helped if you never really watched any of the previous movies.
Me, I only saw Friday 1 and 7 (in reverse order), Nightmare 5 and New Nightmare before this.
Jason shouldn't be able to dream he's dead
@Steven Fonlame I agree it was portrayed poorly and makes everyone think Jason is afraid of water.
Wasn't it because the director has never seen any of the Friday the 13th movies but he did know who Jason was synopsis wise?
"That goalie was pissed about something" My Fav line
“How many times do I gotta tell you? I don’t do checkers. I’m an UNO guy, so grab the fucking UNO deck and we’ll play ok?”
I like "Coffee. Make friends with it."
Great line. As if to say he was an actual hockey player.
My fav line is definitely the “Not strong enough yet , well, will be soon enough. Until then …I’ll let Jason have some fun”
Robert Englund also loved that line in the commentary he did for this film.
Physically Jason won. Body count Jason won. As far getting what you actually want out of the conflict Freddy won.
jason has no real motives besides to kill..freddy had a plan and executed it...they both won in the end...
lmao
New Line won. The fans sort of left long before this mess came out lol
@@razkable the winner of both rounds was freddy.
@@louiscreed4026 No. There was a survivor left, and Jason's body was fully restored when he came back from that lake in the final scene, with his machete equipped (that moment when the girl threw his weapon into the lake wasn't there just for the sake of being there). Jason is going to keep tabs on her. Meanwhile, Freddy is weak again, since his body is fried and all he has left of himself is his head, if I am not mistaken.
The only reason Jason is doing what Freddy said was because he thought it was his mom that told him to go to elm street and kill the kids. Freddy knew Jason wouldn’t listen to him any other way
Yea, she sadly talked over that part of the film
@Ricardo Alonso Rojas IIRC, the classic Jason "theme" is Jason hearing "Kill. For. Ma." with a lot of reverb.
how fucking popular is Freddy Kruger!? a pedophile who like children and was burned alive and when his name is mentioned in high school everyone gathers to listen
BUT!
when it comes to a man that has been resurrected several times wears a hockey mask and is damn near invincible not person is shock or surprised?! wtf?!
The main theory as to why Jason was afraid of water in the dream is because Freddy is in his childlike subconscious, and child Jason would be afraid of water because he almost drowned.
good one I like your theory bc I always hated that scene bc real jason would never be afraid of water
but I've always loved this movie ik its controversial some hate it some love it some don't care either way but as much as some scenes r stupid I love the movie
Did drown. Jason's undead.
@@samieltheinfamous He wasn't undead until part 6.
@@aaroncoats1555 Idk I kinda liked that they gave him a weakness and it's one that actually makes some sense. I mean it doesn't make sense in the sense that he's never shown to be scared of water in any of the previous movies, but it does make sense that he would be scared of water considering he drowned.
@@DanFDTR Eh, been a minute since I've watched them all.
"We're getting to the climax!"
"That's a lot of wood!"
"Oh, he's coming."
"Anything else going through your head?"
- That's what she said!
"wtf is even the point of them fighting"
It's Freddy Krueger vs Jason Voorhees...these are things people argue about and it came to life
I love this damn movie
loving this mess they call a movie? weird thing to do lol
@@xXBlackIce7Xx bet your fun at parties lol
@@icdanything4385 LOL FR
Damn right, this movie was a dream come true when it came out. For years, even back when me and my friends were too young to have actually seen the movies we would argue about who would win out of these two evil bastards. This movie may not be objectively the greatest cinematic achievement of all mankind, but it's exactly the kind of bullcrap I would have made up at age nine having not seen any of the movies except the previews on network TV and looking at the backs of the boxes at the video rental place.
"Yeah so my uncle that works at Nintendo, well he totally got fired and got a job at New Line, and there's this movie coming out that's Freddy Vs Jason, it's gonna be awesome dude! Like Freddy resurrects Jason in his dreams but like on Elm Street so he'll kill people and they'll think it's Freddy and dream about him and then Freddy can come back for real, but then Jason won't stop killing everybody and the teenagers get them to fight each other!"
"That's total BS dude, I thought you said your uncle went to work with James Bond and he had a car that could turn into a submarine."
"Oh yeah, but, uh, in his spare time he works at the movies and..."
"Dude shut up, there ain't no Freddy Vs Jason you're just making stuff up again."
Y'all are so quick at getting each of these out after the previous. Becoming one of my fave reaction channels not just for her expressions, quips, and her all-round experience, but a also HIS side eyes when looking for the reaction.
This is my fave reaction channel. I've been a horror buff since I was a kid at around ~13-14 year old and I've watched all of these classic 80'ies horror movies and more. It's a great nostalgic trip as well as fun to watch the missus expressions to them.
Right?! I too watched this back when they first watched and uploaded it 5 months ago, but now I’m back for a re-watch!!
I’m always apprehensive when it comes to 2 or more people reacting together and 1 of them has already seen the film that they’re watching. There have been several times that I’ve seen where the person who’s already seen the movie spends the entire reaction over explaining everything and spoon-feeding them every little detail. (This is especially true when said person _really_ likes the movie that they’re watching.) I understand that they’re just trying to make sure that the other person is picking up on everything but my God does it get old FAST. LOL.
ANYWAY, I’ve watched these two react to *soooooo* many different films together and he _rarely ever_ does this to her. (Every once in awhile it’s totally cool. _Especially_ when she asks for clarification.)
_ANYWAY_ that’s one of many reasons why I like watching these two so much!
Love to you my LGTBQ brethren

Robert Englund was the best Freddy Krueger and I wish he can still play him. He’s the man.

@@FilmProduction816 That version was terrible but I don't fault Jackie Earle Haley for that as he's pretty good in most other projects he does, especially as Rorschach in Watchmen.
i love how the guy is clearly so enthusiastic about freddy jason and the horror in general while the girl is just like kill me now
Lol 😂
“Why does he have such mommy issues”
I think Dream Warriors, Dream Child, and Freddy’s Dead can answer that.
And to be fair, Amanda did give Freddy up after he was born.
@@rodgill9376 He certainly has a particular animosity towards his Mother over that fact probably. He clearly would of wanted a Mother at least when he was younger compared to what he got instead.
@@guess6635 yeah he kept saying her a bitch.
@@rodgill9376 Indeed. They're whole dynamic was always very interesting at least to myself, due to the fact that no matter what, They're both Mother and Son and he was connected to her physically before his birth.
As well as the fact that he got his iconic last name from her rather then his father since the identity of his birth father would be impossible to pinpoint back then even though we saw a glimpse of his actual father back in the Dream Child.
That's a lot of movies...
Now imagine us 80's kids watching so many of them many, many times. THAT'S a lotta Freddy and Jason and we still want more!
I can just keep watching and watching and watching them. Started when I was 7 and am now 39 and I still haven't had enough. Love the Friday's but I'm a huge Freddy fan.

Same here. Saw it with a double bill of the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake while in the Army stationed in Germany. They were showing both at the base theater and it was Halloween night so it was a packed show and a lot of fun.
I remember when I heard Freddy saying that he found someone and then they showed Jason I was like Yeah Bitch 😎
Same here
This movie is genuinely hilarious, Freddy's "oh no!" Every time sounds like grandpa Joseph from JoJo; if you just picture the looney tunes theme playing after every supposedly scary moment, it becomes the best comedy of the decade XD
@Quinardo Soto now that you mention it i do notice the Warner BROS cartoon antics involved here , i believe the Nightmare series started off more serious and about genuine scares but later on it became a little too campy!
But i still enjoyed this one .. fun fact this is the only one in either series that was directed by a Hong Kong Action director ... Ronny YU who also directed Bride of Chucky keep good horror movies alive 👹👻
CHEERS.
Not gonna lie, I love the nightmare franchise. It was part of every sleepover growing up. Memories lol
I was definitely rooting for Freddy.
Gotta give the Mrs a lot of props for going through all these movies and you can tell by her facial expressions she’s so done with these movies. Also still waiting on that you, me, & the bewbies shirt.
A You, Me, and the Bewbies would be an awesome shirt! 😃
Yeah, great plan, Freddy, didn't count on the fact that once Jason starts, he won't stop until he's taken down or there's nobody left to kill.
They weren't in hell my guy. Jason was his only option 😂

Should've used Pumpkinhead. You can decide how many people that needs to die (excluding collaterals).
That dude getting folded up in the bed got one of the best reactions I’ve ever heard in a theater. It’s easily one of my favorite Jason kills of all time.
Lol I love how enthusiastic and into it he is and she always seems like the opposite like "oh ok whatever that's blah cool story bro" Yeah "Freddy was...weird" lmao 🤣 you guys have the perfect contrast with reactions 😁 lol the little girl with no eyes freaked her out haha.
"You ever party in a corn field?" Boy, you still country as hell.
This movie was fun and all (as it should have been) but seriously, that scene where the children on the missing persons posters all turn there heads is very effective.
Very "Harry Potter"-like.

”He’s got a long neck” lol
Okay this is for the mrs , while in hell Freddy goes into Jason's mind & finds his dreams of his mom and tells him to kill kids on elm street . so basically freddy wasn't strong enough to get into living people's dreams so he uses Jason to resurrect him. Once Freddy is strong enough he's able to get into people's dreams . So he's basically using Jason's body as a host
SomJason dreams, but his dreams are just like in the living world. Scaring the crap out of people and killing them.
I watched this so much growing up, the scene where the guy gets folded in half still gets me. I think I was introduced to Feng Shui by this movie too 😂
"That goalie was pissed about somethin!" is one of the best lines 🤣
My favorite kill was when Jason threw his machete like a spear and impaled that guy running out of the corn field. I would say that I was team Jason/Crystal Lake.
That was tight and how he twisted dude's whole head around
That kid reminded me of Franklin from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, only more annoying.
That was Chris Gauthier who is probably best known for playing Vincent on the tv series Eureka.
8:39 " I might be getting stabbed to death but I am NOT going to drop my beer."
Thank you for pointing that out. I saw him holding it, but it didn't click that it's absolutely absurd.
“What the f*ck is the point?” Sums up my biggest gripe with this one.

Steak!
Doesn't seem to have aged well in terms of "scares" and all that. Plus, were the people he was after supposed to be teens or what? They all looked like they were old enough to have their own places, but they still lived with their parents.
Because it's fun and entertaining. Pretty much the point of most films.
Because... fight. Duuuh
My favorite scene in this movie is when Freddy tries to hit Jason with the cart on the construction site and it gets stuck on the track and Freddy's like, "Aww, gimme a break!" That always just cracks me up! 🤣
Are ya gonna do Jason X???
You guys should watch the Scream franchise I believe the Mrs would love it
Thing that really creeped me out in this film was those flyers of missing kids and their heads turning looking at Laurie as she walked down the hallway 🥺
One of the best vs. movies - like the way they were faithful to both characters origins
i like how cool the idea of a crossover between two giants like this was...they legit always drop anything else and fight against each other the way they should feeling like their killing is threatened by the other and their prescience is as well....its like their fighting on whose the star villain of the film...
I love at 29:46 Jason basically says “and I’m done.”
The Mrs seems defeated at the end of these series, lol
You know, you're right! The movies defeated her, Freddy and Jason both win!
I just love how she barely conceals her disdain for these movies... XD
She's very negative and a buzzkill.
Mrs Movies reaction to these is exactly the same as an exgf when I made her marathon these movies 😂 . Big props to Mrs Movies for sticking through it!
Loved this Film as a teen, so much Fun and action, cool kills and end fight
Going to see FVJ in the theater is the most excited I’ve been in my life for a movie been a huge fan of both franchises. The audience atmosphere was like a rock concert
My sharp senses tell me the missus is really into these movies and is devastated to be at the end.
Suprised they never mentioned the Evangeline Lilly cameo. Kate from Lost just hiding there in the background
I bring it up in our full-length reaction. She misses it though, so I cut it out.
3:11, it's cool that they show archive footage from all the original films
That's the best part of this movie.
I didn’t even have to wait until Friday for this! You spoil us!
Film makers should learn that combining two franchises to combat each other doesn't always mean good things 😂
I got nostalgic a couple years ago and watched all the Freddy and Jason movies in a week. I had some very interesting dreams the days after that.
I was so into this movie when it came out. I'm a huge fan of crossovers. Freddy vs Jason, alien vs predator, batman meets superman in the animated series, etc. I love crossovers. But Freddy is my favorite of the slashers cuz of his banter and whitty jokes.
Jason X was actually before Freddy vs. Jason... although I understand after Jason Goes to Hell why it would lead into this movie instead. Just didn't want any of them to be left out or forgotten

This is one of my favorites in the franchises. I just love vs movies
When this movie first came out I was 19 and working at KFC right by the theater. I had tickets to the late showing because of work. Almost every person that came through the drive thru that night was talking about how good the movie was. Freddy vs Jason will always be top 10 of horror movies IMO.
I was 16 (or just turned 16) and a sophomore in highschool when it came out. This was one of the first R rated movies I ever saw in theaters, the first one being the Jackass movie the previous year in 2002
I was cheering for Freddy. I don't have a favorite kill in this one.
I can't wait to see her reaction to Wes Cravens New Nightmare. That is truly a masterpiece. Hopefully then you'll get to scream. Good show, you two.
The creepy lil kid in that film can catch deez hands 🤜👶🤛
I love Freddy but, team Jason for me.

@rickking228Jason is overrated as heck
The intro scene of this movie is the best part of the entire thing, seeing that summary of the nightmare on elm series was awesome and creepy, when I first saw this movie I was legit hyped at the start because of that scene, if only the entire movie had that same feel and tone instead of a 90s music video
When this movie came out it legit scared me (mainly because of Freddy), which I find hilarious now.
Everyone says that Jason being afraid of water is inaccurate, but think about this. It’s in his dreams where his deepest fears can be exploited. You can’t tell me that even if he’s not outwardly afraid of water that he still feels afraid subconsciously
I remember me and my friends cracking up when Lochlyn Munro first showed up in the film.
I love this guy. Literally everything he says, points out and knows about is how I feel, INCLUDING the fact that this movie introduced me to the word “feng shui” (sounds like funkshway) but hey where is the Friday the 13th reboot reaction video? Derek Mears gives one of the most brutal and terrifying portrayals of Jason ever. Plus the opening 25 minutes are balls to the wall.
10:43 Yeah I'm sure Freddy's scared shitless at the thought of taking on a random drunk guy.
It was my brother's birthday at the start of the month and I actually got him a book on the production history of this film, which explores all the unused ideas and scripts that existed from the mid-80's until the final film was made. Honestly that stuff I find WAY more interesting than the actual final product, especially with the original plans for Pinhead to show up at the end.
It's safe to say that every horror fan has at some point imagined in their brain what it would be like to see the other 80's horror icons all together in an MCU style situation; Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead, Chucky, Ash, on top of Freddy and Jason in one film. I remember when I was younger picturing Ash vs Leatherface in a chainsaw fight, Freddy and Chucky interacting I always thought would be entertaining since I picture them getting along, Michael Myers meeting Jason Voorhees since they're so similar, and seeing Pinhead as the one who'd wreck shop at the end with all of them.
With that said, even though I know it'll never happen, even if it did it'd be stupid and terrible. Freddy and Jason work since they're both evenly matched, Leatherface is just a guy, Michael Myers maybe could do a bit better but he's never shown to be much of a fighter, even then the whole idea of Michael Myers and Leatherface to me only work as one off characters, to me they should've never had sequels.
Still, it's a fun 'what if' idea. Either way this reaction was great, I'm a little sad that you're so close to finishing these films but hey, that's just how it goes
Just came accross this channel and liked what I see.
