I'm pretty sure the line when Freddy kills Jennifer is "f--- the prime time bitch!."
Also something most people don't notice or pay attention to in the nightmare franchise, is that Freddy didn't start being funny and giving snappy one liners until this film. In the first two films Freddy had no sense of humor and didn't give little snappy one liners. It's only in this film and after that Freddy gets a sense of humor.

I love how Nancy was back and she wasn't back as a survivor she came back as a protector to these kids from Freddy. And even when She's dying her last moments she's still protecting them.
Next to Englund, Heather Langenkamp is the MVP of the series.

Met Heather at a Chicago Horror Convention, she's extremely nice and humble and gave all of the credit to Patricia Arquette for that scene.

I mean we even see it in the first film that she tried so hard to save her best friends and boyfriend and her mother but failed. So to see her accomplish saving the remaining Elm st kids from Freddy (even though she was brutally stabbed from Freddy) says alot. And we get to see her growth in the 3rd film as well so when she dies we feel the loss

3 is very iconic. Freddy gets an overblown horror movie origin, says b!tch a lot (Scary Terry!!!), and Nancy returns. Lotta good stuff.

I love "Dream Warriors", it's one of my favorites of the franchise with the original, "Freddy's Revenge" and "New Nightmare", but unfortunately I think the rest of the sequels just learned the wrong lessons from this movie: much more emphasis on visual effects, humor and mythology surrounding Freddy's past, rather than focusing on a good script.

I think Dream Master is a good flick aside from the kills, that's the flaw with that film for me. They were cheesy and corny, like the roach, the invisible karate, the beach scene, the nurse, the teacher/apple scene, etc. It was too comedic. Aside from that, the movie screams 80s MTV which I love, I liked the characters, the final battle with Alice was great and his "defeat" with the souls ripping him apart was excellent and probably one of my favorites in the whole franchise. If the kills were more horror and less MAD tv then it would be a great sequel imo.

Alice is a superb character, well portrayed by Lisa Wilcox, and she's the best thing about Elm St 4.

This is my personal favorite of the Elm Streets and love that Patricia Arquette went from scream queen to Oscar winner.

@@CarloisBuriedAlive no the worst is actually another Nightmare alum Johnny Depp. I used to work in licensing for New Line and he had his contract amended when he became super famous to restrict the use of any scene he was in bc he didn’t want to be too associated with the franchise.
The fact that Nancy died here always bothered me. I wish she hadn't. She was my favorite heroine in the series.
My favorite Elm Street film of all time. Dokken did the theme song "Dream Warriors" and "Into The Fire" for this. So Epic.

Funny story actor Bradley Gregg(Phillip the sleepwalker) had that bloody stuff on his arms and legs while eating lunch with the rest of the cast.
After my little brothers watched this one of them grabbed the other one and said "Sorry kid, I don't believe in tattletales!" I died!! 🤣🤣🤣

Angelo Badalamenti is a brilliant composer! Only he could write such an atmospheric soundtrack for this movie!

Christopher Young's music for part Two is very chilling also and the best thing about that film I think.

It's ironic you say that considering most of the music in the film was written by someone named Ken Harrison, credited in the end titles. This movie maybe uses 25% of the score Badalamenti turned in. Which is probably why he refused to talk about the movie.
My favourite nightmare movie directed by Chuck Russell who went on to direct the excellent remake of ‘The Blob’.
This movie codified a lot of the traits that are now regularly associated with Freddy Kruger. This was the one where his backstory was fleshed out, giving him the title of the Bastard Son of a Hundred Maniacs, confirmed that he had always been evil and insane from the moment of his conception, established that Freddy had lived in Nancy’s old house prior to the parents of Elm street killing him, started showing more fantastic, nightmare-based ways for him to kill kids rather than just slicing them up all the time, had him start using dark jokes and trollish one liners to mock his victims, and when he started regularly calling his victims “bitch.” This one really finished setting the table for Freddy’s stories going forward, while the first two just barely tapped where the mythology was going.
Ahhh, the whole rick & morty scary terry episode where he is constantly saying bitch makes sense now. I haven't seen a freddy movie in ages, lol.

This might be where Robert Englund and Freddy Krueger became more of a pop figure and less of a frightening one. He was in the "Dream Warriors" video and then making guest spots on MTV.
Fun fact: Kristen's mother played by Brooke Bundy, is the real life mother of Tiffany Helm, who played the goth girl, Violet, who danced in Friday the 13th Part V.
My favorite transformation was the Freddy worm and my favorite kill was the Freddy puppeteer! So glad you guys are watching these films. I know the Mrs is less than thrilled.... Lol but we enjoy her reactions so tell her we all say thank you! She's gonna be a horror pro by the time she gets done with these series of movies. I'm sure she will enjoy Freddy vs Jason. 😜

This movie gave me insane nightmares as a kid, but it also helped me with lucid dreaming.
I think I was able to control elements of dreams better after watching this (and after all the nightmares that came with it at first).
As a child, just listening to the intro and seeing the house being built sent me out of the room scared AF. Funny that now as an adult, I enjoy watching it and it's my favorite from the series.

How did Freddy turn Johnny Depp into a blood-smoothie? The same way he dragged Tina across the ceiling in defiance of gravity, and the same way you die for real when he kills you in your dreams When you dream, your in his world, and can bend that reality to his will. The more terror his victims feel, the stronger he becomes, and the greater his power to manipulate the reality of his dying victims.
Behind the scenes of Nightmare 1, they actually filmed a bloody Glen/Johnny Depp being spat out of the bed as well, but opted not to include it.
Behind the scenes of Nightmare 3, here, the opening scene where Kristin rescues the little girl only to find she's holding a decayed skeleton was originally going to be more disturbing. One of the fx artists, Mark Shostrom, created an emaciated corpse that looked like a child who had died of starvation. The producers decided that was a bit too nightmarish, and opted not to use it.
Anyway, I enjoyed the reaction. The series proper peaks here, but the next installment is an enjoyable roller-coaster ride, with a great lead performance as well. Take care! ❤

There's an article on bloody-disgusting "The Awesome Creature Effect We Almost Got in ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors", where you can see a couple of photos of the emaciated child he created for the film that was ultimately rejected. Feel free to look it up.
Similarly, if you do a quick google-search, you can also find shots of bloodied Johnny Depp emerging from the bed. It's extremely unimpressive. LOL

I was probably younger than I should have been to see these movies, but they didn't effect me in the least. I suppose it helps that my dad is Frederick Krueger. We used to go out on Halloween for dinner and he'd ask "What kind of a discount does Freddy Krueger get on Halloween?" Then after they'd answer, he'd show his drivers license. We got Free Whoppers one year. 10-15% off happened a lot too.
The best one IMO. Saw it '87 at the theater and I never tire of watching it.
Even though the original will always be the best, I found this one way scarier than the first.

Dream Warriors is really the direct sequel to the first A Nightmare on Elm Street, as the story was by Wes Craven and it features the return of Heather Langenkamp as Nancy. Chuck Russell and Frank Darabont do a great job as director and co-screenwriter with Craven. Angelo Badalamenti was the composer on many David Lynch projects like Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Wild At Heart, Lost Highway, The Straight Story, and Mullholland Drive. Dream Warriors and New Nightmare, along with the original film, are the three best films of the series.

I always found it odd how in some scenes they forgot to add the voice deepening effect to Robert’s voice so you just end up hearing his real voice.

This has always been my favorite Nightmare movie. Watching you watch it made me realize I prefer it to the first because it is a whole lot creepier. The use of shadows, lighting, sound and practical and special effects is just more refined. I always thought it was just the story of these kids uniting against Freddy that made it my favorite but now I see it really is a better made movie. I saw it 3 times in the theater when it came out. I was a little obsessed with it.

This is the first movie I remember ever seeing in theaters. Let's just say my mom was not very happy with my dad's parenting with that decision considering I was three years old. Definitely set me on my path of being a big horror fan so I was fine with the decision. Haha I turned out alright.

This was my absolute favorite as a kid. Yes, my parents let me watch Nightmare on Elm Street at 8 years old. 😁 I had already seen the first 2 on VHS when this came out.

The first one I saw. Truly fueled my nightmares and inspired a lot of drawings back then. Perfect mix of horror, punchlines and a story that makes sense. The worm is really gross. The tendons marionette is a terrifying kill, but the tv is a classic.
One of the most underrated Freddy lines is... "I SAID, WHERE'S THE FUCKIN BOURBON!"
I remember loving this movie as a kid because of the whole dream/super powers stuff. This used to come on regular tv back in the day. The opening of the 4th movie is cool at least. BTW, the recovering drug addict who almost beat freddy in the knife fight was my favorite. Damn drugs done someone in again!

I actually like the simple kill of the wizard wheelchair guy with the misdirection/feigning of being affected by his magic powers that Freddy does.
In the same vein, I prefer just the regular Freddy to any of the weird forms he takes in the movie.

I remember this movie more than the others. I think it was because I was lucid dreaming a lot as a kid. Yeah I watched this and all the other classic horror movies as a kid. No movie boundaries mother. Only one that freaked me out was IT. But when the wizard guy was using his powers. I used to do stuff like that. But mainly fly and shoot fire from my eyes.

One of the best in the series. I remember seeing this in theatres as a kid. I have the collection but it’s not as much fun as watching these on a big screen.
The movie here gave me flashback nightmare's , the scenes that got me was the one while she was stuck running also the veins into a puppet while sleepwalking which I also did as I was young . THANK YOU Y.A.M.A.T.M. for doing this movies!

Dream Master and dream child are my faves too. You're gonna get a karate kid vibe on those two movies. You'll see
I kinda love the dreamscapes in these films because the practical effects were very impressive and they were mostly done for real, in-camera and on set. No digital trickery to rely on because it hadnt been invented yet. Really effective, even if the execution is a bit .... cartoonish at times. But it's justt fun! A real treat to watch for the special effects sequences!
It's a shame Wes Craven didn't direct this one . The only reason Heather L. agreed to do this film , was because he was supposed to be directing also . If you notice the only Elm street films she did were one's where he was involved . She was 100% loyal to him

There are 6 Elm Street films in the 'series' (The Original, Freddy's Revenge, Dream Warriors, The Dream Master, The Dream Child and Freddy's Dead ) - Then after that 'New Nightmare', Freddy VS Jason and The remake. He also had a TV show called Freddy's Nightmares. I think that's it... so far anyway LOL
