More NYC Videos: âą Indian STREET FOOD Tou...
XING FU TANG: Here, we tried a medium brown sugar boba milk. They used a blowtorch to crystallize the brown sugar on top, making almost like creme brûlée. It was exceptionally sweet and rich!
SALTY DUCK EGG: This street food treat was like a soft-boiled egg, with a bit of runny yolk. It also lived up to its name, as it was very salty!
ROASTED CHESTNUTS: I love these roasted, smoky snacks. You can get them from street food vendors all over the world, including NYC!
XIAOLONGBAO: This is a traditional pork soup dumpling from Shanghai. It usually comes boiling hot, so you have to nibble a tiny hole in it and sip out the juice before putting it in your mouth!
YOUTIAO: Youtiao is a fried, savory breadstick that you usually dip into soy milk. I had this dish in Shanghai back in 2019. Itâs fluffy but filling!
MALA SIBLINGS: Here, we tried an assortment of duck parts (feet, neck, and head) coated in Szechwan numbing spices. They were spicy and completely numbed my lips and tongue!
PASTRIES: We got a Portuguese egg custard, a Hong Kong egg custard, and a pineapple bun at a local Cantonese bakery, as well as a coffee. The bun was fluffy and sweet, with a crispy and buttery crust on the outside. Both egg custards were creamy and melted in my mouth, but I liked the Hong Kong one a little more!
FOOD COURT: Here, we enjoyed some classic noodles, and a Chinese burger made with lamb. The noodles were cold and cut thick, and spicy. I also loved the lamb burger, which had a flaky and crispy bun, and tender, juicy, and flavorful lamb meat inside. We finished with an herbal drink thatâs the most popular soft drink in China!

About Me:
My name is David Hoffmann. Since starting Davidâs Been Here in 2008, I have traveled to over 1,400 destinations in 97 countries to experience and document unique cultures on my CZcams channel, travel blog, and social media.
I highlight culture and historical sites, but my passion is food! I love to experience and showcase the different flavors each destination has to offer, from casual street food to gourmet restaurant dining.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
You eat the salted egg as a side dish for rice or use it in other dishes, Xiaoma let you walk right into a salt bomb LOL
This was so interesting to watch......so many varieties of chinese foods...some I wasn't even aware of .......and their snacks looks very delicious .Also I admire the guy learning several languages...wish him well...Glad to see Nathan too...Thanks David and stay safe on all your travels. Blessings.
Great video. Xioama is about languages and not really a foodie. He empathizes how languages bring people together and break down barriers. Different video styles but both great.
Enjoyed this video bro. I like the more relaxed, unplanned vibes.
Thanks for coming NY David! That was awesome!
Hm, I have mixed feelings about this post. Red flags - those steamed buns were as pointed out definitely not soup dumplings. If there isn't at least a little line up, or sign of rapid turn over, not a great sign. If you see a line up of Chinese grandmas for bbq or anything, get in that line. Don't feel like you need to have chicken feet or duck heads - unless they seem to be super popular at that particular place, and therefore probably really good, you might not love it. However if you think about it, people love chicken wings - what is the difference? Fatty meats around a bunch of bones. It is all about perception. The Chinese long doughnut - best dipped fresh and hot in congee or Hong Kong milk tea, not just by itself. It is like a giant churro. Regardless, nice to give everything a try.
this is absolutely amazing!!
Luv it â€
Enjoyed this video very much
What an awesome club!â€
korean american here born in flushing and moved away at 9 years of age. need to go back and do these food tours
Awesome collab.
The New World Food Court is a really great place. Love the hand pulled noodles.
I missed you in Flushing. I was there too. Enjoy. Stay safe.
Been waiting for this
You need to eat the salty duck egg with rice! It's my favorite!
what a combo
That salted egg, you generally donât eat on itâs own, itâs like an ingredient⊠or something you have with rice to season
ya..when i saw him just eat on it's own i was shock...lol..but good to learn something new.
You're supposed to eat those salt eggs with congee. Usually 2-4 people split one, but it's not unheard of for someone who really enjoys it to eat a whole one on their own.
My kind of food tour!
â€ïžđ„
Beautiful area to experience Asian culture n foodâ€
Love Flushing & your videos
Thank you so so much Patricia!! I truly appreciate that. Have a beautiful evening!
Great tour of Flushing!! By the way, I love your watch! I have the same one!
Thank you so much Frankie!!!
How do you have someone with you for a food tour but doesn't know what salted duck eggs are
this kid is the best! Shocking the world with his fluent mandarin priceless!
I'm all about great food. I'm new here and look forward to following your adventures.
Wonderful eating sirâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Flushing is such a dynamic place with food confronting you in shops and via sidewalk vendors. It's sensory overload. And, eating without an agenda in impromptu fashion makes it an adventure. I'd never seen salty eggs ever offered for sale like that...as a snack? It's usually eaten with other foods such as congee. I believe the duck parts are what's called "lu wei" in Mandarin. A tradition where various meats and parts are stewed and braised in soy sauce and spices. It's popular in Southern China and throughout the country. Egg tarts? Of course, you can't go wrong with those...a Hong Kong, Cantonese, and Macanese staple. The cold noodles ("liangpi") and Chinese hamburger ("roujiamo") looked delicious. They are the foremost ambassadors of Xi'An cuisine abroad. And, there's no livelier place to get them than at the New World Mall food court. All in all, this was a very interesting survey of the Flushing food scene.
I don't know if it's the camera, but ć°é©Ź is looking healthier and more fit. Having a kid will actually do that, though. đ I have two, and they keep me running around a lot. Awesome video. I miss Queens.
Looks good

At first I was like âwhy isnât he eatingâ but then I remembered his channel
2 of my favorite CZcamsrs. Different video, but not complaining. But when you said Shukran, it clearly shows you missing the Middle East, or Mr Taster for that matter... LOL
Dang. Just straight up eating a salted duck egg. That's impressiveđ€Ł

my best bro david looking handsome your sauce is best sauce thank you for your huge respect against cpec friendship countries lot of love from your best bro viki đ
Nice
In fact, there is no soup in Xiaolongbao. If you want it with soup, itâs called Xiao Long Tang Bao. If you ordered Xiao long bao, it may serve bao with soup or without soup.
There are more than 20 different types of duck dishes in Chinese cuisine. Not every duck is Beijing duck.
Love watching these videos, coming fromsomeone who has lived in flushing their whole life
nice collab .. but should got some hot sweet soy milk to go with that crispy fried YAU TIU dough stick .. next level goodness !
Bingbuzz got the hidden spots in flushing
I noticed that a fair share of the graphics showing the names of the foods were tagged with "Miami." Some were tagged correctly with "NYC." It was confusing to me at first. But, then, I realized that the inclusion of "Miam" must have been an error in editing that was allowed to reoccur. Obviously, David and Xiaoma are in Flushing, New York and not in Miami.
Thank you so much for pointing this out. This was caused by an error but sadly I won't be able to fix it now. I am so thankful you pointed this out! This was only filmed in Flushing NYC
â@@Davidsbeenhere now it makes sense. Also in your cuban food tour in miami i got confused when the tags showed 'Dominica' and thought the food originated there
Love to see forainer love indian
EPIC COLLAB! đšđłđșđž
Thank you so much bro!â€ïž
Youâre very good at speaking multiple languages
oh thank you so much my friend!
@@Davidsbeenhere youâre welcome David

Hey David from where some one could get your sauce and what is the name i??
Is your hot sauce gluten free? I want to try it but i have celiac disease.
can you make a video how you stay fit eating so much lol
Hi David. Just finished watching this video and I am going to be very honest with you. Some parts of the video I loved and some I didn't. Some of the Chinese food left a lot to be desired but I loved the bao, noodles, the lamb burger and the pastries. Wish they had put some pineapple in the bun. The reason why the tea or coffee is piping hot is to dissolve all the fat in the foods that you eat. All in all, I liked the video but I really expected better food. Just being brutally honest. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what else you and Nathan did in NYC. â€ïžđčđčđšđŠ
Guess the duck head is cheaper than coke đđđ
For sure!
holy shit this was not unexcepted from you .we want more of this .surprise us david .
Love Boba tea so yummy Love mango . Salty egg will pass too salty but love eggs lol. Now dumplings oh yes give me :) Buns are so good to :) every meal should have these. I want that pineapple bun oh yeah looks amazing :) they really should put some small bits of pineapple in middle lol.. pretty cool to speak several languages. Hats off to you guys. I feel its important to be able to do so when you travel a lot and do what you do.. Nice experience in NYC TeamDavid :) â„â„â„
Hi Elizabeth ...nice seeing you...We had two days of Carnival ...was beautiful after missing two cause of Covid lockdown. Today Ash Wednesday...beach time....hope you doing good...stay safe.

I can eat Chinese food 365 days a yeară
We only have water chestnuts in pakistan tho :(
I would of been angry if that guy keep taking my food man đđđđ
Is it just me, or was the chemistry off between y'all? Your other collabs were much better and I wish he took you a little further off the beaten path of main street because there's some real gems a little further away
To be honest I thought we had great chemistry. We were a bit limited by time constraints and of course I wish we had more time! Perhaps next time? Still appreciate comment though regardless! Have a great weekend Cellphone Sagas!
Hey David how are you, you know I have watched your programs a few times and love love your content, but I always wonder why haven't you come to Jamaica?
I'm a Jamaican and we have some good food fun places,I would love if you come check us out sometime....Thanks
i love duck neck, feet and wings!
David...the pecking duck...really David
You should definitely do something about the (pink?) noise going on all the time in the background! đ
Bro just tagged along to watch you eat and pay for everything hella weird vibe
Them Chinese restaurant prices are getting out of hand. I barely have enough to pay my bill. Didn't even have enough to pay the waiter a tip. He calledl me something in Chinese and it didn't sound like sport neither
đđđ
When you say "èŹèŹ," the tone on the second part is....off. It confuses me as to what you're trying to say, but I get it from context. Good effort!

David, those are not duckleggs, but chickenleggs. I know because I cook it regurally.
I can only imagine how delicious those chickenlegs taste!! Homemade food is the best! Have a beautiful weekend jwelsje!
@@Davidsbeenhere thank you my man and thank you for putting Suriname on the map. Next time you come, we'll concentrate on the soups, because the peanut soup you ate, was a little fake, something for tourist.
Namaste meku telugu vacha
ć°é©Ź's pronunciation of words is okay at best. There is no need to make him look like God of speaking every languages.
Xiaomanyc didnt seem really into it like he didnt want to be there.
No he was. We are doing a trip together soon. Excited to share our adventure with you!
Drop the indian videos and bring more of videos exploring chinese cuisine
You r better then him...đ
I do not understand why he was not given his own food. Not even his own drink. The last place you ate and on,y than he as able to take some of your leftovers. You have zero manners. When you went on other you tubers , they treated you with more respect.
U have to chew the bones to get the real taste out of the neck ,feet an head
chinese food in ny is not good.
Uhhhh...you just sucked the sauce off the feet, you didn't even eat the duck feet
You need a new editor. Constantly making mistakes on the graphics with the incorrect cities.
Apologies it will be fixed in all future videos. It was a series of unfortunate events that led to the problem. Thank you for letting me know and I hope you also have a great night!
You have to bite off the bones on the duck feet and eat the cartilage, not just suck the juice off the feet. Also cringe when you put the universal hot sauce spoon on your half bitten pork bun/dumpling, youâre not supposed to actually touch the bun with that sauce spoon, now the whole container of chili sauce is contaminatedđ€ź interesting video tho, and glad youâre open to trying new things!
The chicken feet too hard. Well braise, the skin will just comes off bones and taste delicious
Stop sharing straws with people
Xiaoma wasnt the best person to have with you. He always strikes me as someone with a very big opinion of himself. The converstion wasnt as flowy as with other people that have been with you. Not as good a video as usual.
David ... some of these foods you are eating improperly and misrepresented in their usage... please don't make the mistake of misinformation or misrepresentation of cultural foods and how they are used in culinary cuisine.
Why david forget india completely đ„čđ„č
Their was a time he used to make video on india frequently now looks like he dont like it
I released 3 India Videos though within the past few weeks! I love India but I haven't been back to visit in a bit. I promise I'll be back to do an Indian Video sometime in the future!
