- In this video, I try out one of the best teams in the format right now. This team was built by two time Japanese National Champion and 2019 Worlds Finalist Hirofumi Kimura, who finished in the Top 32 at the 2023 World Championships with it. It features unique takes on standard Pokemon such as super defensive Calm Mind Flutter Mane, Choice Band Normal Tera Hisuan Arcanine, and Life Orb Poison Tera Chien Pao!

You're why I'm still invested in competitive Pokémon 👍
He’s the only reason I got into it. I used to think “amoongus meta? Murkrow meta? Why?” And then I got to see what they brought to the table through these games with different Pokémon and it’s been loads of fun watching competitive doubles ever since.
Thank you so much!!! That means the world to me
@@CybertronVGCWhere's the Yu-Gi-Oh Vids????
The thing I like about how these top players build teams is that often you see them have one of the most basics when it comes to their picks (for example here, we have the standard grass/fire/water core which is very basic, and then a strong PA and a strong SpA from the meta, and a support mon) yet, just a slight tweak in the stats and moveset it just turns into this very special team where it makes you go :” OHHHHH YOU’re USING IT LIKE THAT!” It always just amazes me when you realize how simple AND detailed the way they make their teams. Mad respect to all them pro players. They inspire me to try out more and increase my love for this game I’ve been playing for the past 20 years.
Love it when the special sauce comes out to revamp a frequented set of 'mons.
Literally the frontier of the meta
@@cmalin37 frfr absolutely love the creativity whenever it happens. It shines a new light everytime I see it happen and it’s amazing
This will be my first team ever participating in online battles. Ive watched you for forever now im gonna give it a shot
Good luck!
A new Cybertron video, the highlight of my day 😻
QOTD: I like the meta, I think its better than the reg B and C meta games, and the faster paced nature of battles being more viable is fun for me, however im excited more for the next season to hopefully decenteralize the meta
QOTD: Overall I like the current meta and the diversity of the Pokémon being used with the main exception being Urshifu. Being able to hit fully through protect and practically ignore intimidate or defense boosts is just absurd. Just hoping Urshifus ability gets nerfed next gen
or, you know. just doesn't get included.
@@male_maid5951The biggest Urshifu nerf: non-existence
One word "bravebird"
@@male_maid5951 That would be the best case scenario
@@ninjad3with what pokemon tho
Please do the Farigiraf team that top cut at worlds. I'm really curious about it, but it didn't get much of a chance to show its stuff
Chien-Pao 🤝 Arcanine: Dog and Cat set aside their differences to destroy their opponents
Yay perfecting timing as always
Happy Sunday’s
Thanks for another vid!! 🙏💕
Loving the team breakdowns!
Best part of your videos is the team breakdown I feel as I learn something new every time
never stop making these 🙏🏽
QOTD: I am having a lot fun with the meta right now with getting to try out and learn all the world's teams.
I actually got to face you in one of your practice matches with this team where I was trying out Joe's team from last video. As you mentioned the Chien-Pao got a first turn OHKO on Thundurus that I was not expecting. I tried my best to come back but just fell too far behind. Guess that should teach me to go against Cybertron with a team he just covered. This leaves me 1-1 against you on later in your practice matches. Here's hoping the tiebreaker can eventually happen and get in a video. Please keep up the good work! Always great to see my favorite battler/commentator in action!
Same here i got into competitive because of you bro thank u, keep them videos coming bro supporting you all the way !!!
I don’t really play competitive myself but I really like watching it, and sometimes I get really confused about the players choices. Watching you helps me learn the meta and why people do certain things!
Nice to see Tinkaton making some appearances! it was so cool in-game, I thought it would be more prevalent in competitive play but I haven't really seen it.
I've been renting this team for a couple of days and have had some great matches with it!
I've been watching your channel for a while now. Your attitude toward losing is admirable.
i havent been into pokemon much lately (waiting on the mewtwo event honestly.) so in the meantime ive been replaying borderlands 3 and first timing the mass effect trilogy, which has been an absolute blast! i however still love these vids so much. i cant thank you enough for helping me get back into the swing of things. not playing since gen 4 and then being able to understand this new meta with your help and adapt? wild.
Right now I’m having a blast this month and regulation d has brought me back into taking competitive serious and also my CZcams page as I’m working and grinding towards reaching 2024 worlds and for the first time I’m about to reach master all tier for the first time so yeah I’m happy to have my battle spirit back.
I go through ups and downs in terms of my Pokemon interest (The definition of a casual here 😂) but I always enjoy coming back to these videos since they are just so informative, enjoyable and calming. Thank you for the video!
I just love how all it takes is a single move change or slightly different ev investment to *completely* change a Pokemon. Battling is so much fun
I battled this team last night on ranked. Thought I had it but that normal type arcanine surprised me
Arcanine is my favourite Pokemon of all time and the greatest ever vgc mon ever ❤
Ive really enjoyed regularion d. Ive got a mediocre team i play of smogon from time to time.(ive switched my focus back to playing competitive magic) Your content is the best! I try to never miss an upload.
QOTD: Reg D is fun, but I really wanna use Walking Wake and Iron Leaves already 😂
i thought they were both going to be legal months ago 😅
That first game was brutal
Hey good video and also would you mind telling me what mic you use?
I think Reg D has been much faster-paced and thus more enjoyable for me than the last format. Unfortunately, the meta has definitely coalesced really tightly. I hope that whatever the next rule set brings in terms of Pokémon and new moves will have more to offer against threats like Urshifu and Flutter Mane.
QOTD: Reg D is generally a really fun meta! My main problem is how dominant Urshifu and the Genies are, though that's partially because I'm biased and very sick of "le genies of healthy meta" being dominant every single Gen for 2+ seasons.
Urshifu is just ridiculous without dynamax around to use max guard to block Unseen Fist. I think generally everyone knew that when playing Gen 8 but it wasn't really properly identified as being ridiculous until Gen 9 Reg D.
Insane! I been using a similar Life Orb Chien Pao build since Regulation C and it does really well with its ability and nobody thought of it?
Team is insane!
I still miss early SWSH meta with like torkoal and togekiss and dusclops and stuff, OH and rain teams with kingdra. That was prob my fav time to play VGC
Just curious, do you record all battles and switch their orders or do you make the video with all them at the actual order?
love that H Arcanine is so viable. even if this defensive profile is worse- intimidate still goes a long way and it put out so much offensive pressure
Haven't played much in this meta, but I can see that Flutter mane is adjusting well to each format. I'm surprised to see how it will be in Regulation E.
QOTD: I’m really enjoying the current meta. It feels diverse enough to be able to make a lot of interesting Pokémon work, like the Wo-Chien and Bruxish teams you’ve displayed on the channel. There’s a lot of different ways to play the game right now and still succeed. I’m curious about what the restricted format will be like. Terastallization seems like it’s going to create a really high-powered meta and I expect Groudon/Kyogre will dominate once again
The meta is fine, but I personally get tired of the same mons all the time. Sure variety in the sets is good. But having the same 10 mons on every team is so lame.
this seems like a very high floor team but also a very high ceiling
great team
I'm having fun with the meta. I would like for Urshifu and Flutter Mane to be a bit less present though, there is just so much of them
ooo I’m early! love it!
QOTD: I don't play Pokémon anymore. I'm just here to enjoy your content because you go above and beyond as a content creator. It's educational enough for someone like me who don't know any of the newer Pokémon to follow along
FIRST! Like actually first!! Love the videos. Thank you!
the flutter mane is sick
That first game was absurd
Interesting fact. Gholdengo’s ability blocks Helping Hand. 26:01
It does work with Tinkaton because of the Mold Breaker ability. So then Helping Hand works on Goldengo ;)
QOTD: personally love the current meta, I think there are a lot of viable sets and teams. Currently been using Oranguru symbiosis specs w/ Booster Flutter.
QOTD: Reg D might be my single most hated format so far, and this includes singles metagames I've played in the past. Urshifu is the most unhealthy Pokemon I've ever seen, it ignores way too many key aspects of this game. The volatility of the metagame also allows previously manageable threats like FlutterYu and PaoNite to become even more annoying. It's just a race to see who offenses and cheeses more than the other person which is truly sad because there are so many colorful Pokemon that were introduced with Home. BO3 OTS might be fine, but BO1 CTS is SOO bad.
I always say, if Gastrodon is good in a metagame, that metagame has issues.
It was only a matter of time before Life Orb Chien-Pao became meta lol.
QOTD: I love Reg D. I think the massive influx of new pokemon at once just made it super fun really fast and has given it a lot of lasting power with all the new sets possible
Im going to steal this team and pretend I came up with it myself!
Also I think its better to give Tornadus more speed.
rip my heart :(
Could you please try a volcorona team
Feels like it is hella underrated while it has moves like rage powder, tailwind, will o wisp, struggle bug(basically snarl RK9 but with stab) , fiery dance and quiver dance for a potential sweeper set and flame body to hinder physical attackers that make contact without using will o wisp
Only problem with volk is heatran and urshifu
@@Mvshotz yea u can run tera grass giga drain for urshifu but heatran walls it pretty good
QOTD - I think in OTS and bo3 the format is reasonable. Some games are a fun puzzle to solve, some a player is just getting rolled by a particular aspect
CTS it’s a bad format. The power level being so high incentivises playing a proactive team and racing since getting a call wrong on what item, Tera etc puts you in a hole where you’re probably not coming back.
Is there a chance that you could cover Marco Silva's Top 16 list from Worlds? I'm working on building the tram right now but I don't quite understand all the choices that he made.
QOTD: Reg D is fun. Even though I dont have RS Urshifu or any the of the legends from Legends Arceus (yet) I feel like I can still build teams without them to varying degrees of success. H-Goodra is an awesome addition to VGC and I want to experiment with it furthur.
Cybertron videos make my day
Is there a good substitute for Rillaboom Fake Out?
Well i personally like the VCG format atm, i think its cool that past pokemon are coming back to Scarlet/Violet. However, now since the meta game is centered around those same pokemon that is back right now, most people think as though the format is pay-to-win. That aspect is worrisome to me but i don't think VCG at all is at jeopardy.
Have we seen a hisuian typhlosion team in reg D?
Urshifu should have a damage reduction if it is attacking through Protect…. Would help to balance out the ability but keep it viable
Havnt even watched the video yet, just commenting to help the algorithms
I'm glad that people are experimenting with new stuff on Chien-Pao, always having sash is so boring. Effective, sure. But it just makes sure that you can't use sash on something that might also want to use it instead, to diversify the teams a little. Because, to answer the QOTD, it is a little tiring to see pretty much the same core of 4 to 5 pokemon with 1 slot that can be flex. I still watch, I still enjoy but I do wish for some more pokemon diversity. But that's always going to be the issue when you don't have a true restricted format that would limit the amount of legendaries on a team.
QOTD: I like the current meta, but I can't wait for the new one. Hoping for more legendary's in the game but with a restriction of 2 per team
maybe in closed team sheet tera dark tornadus so you can block opposing prankster taunt? IDK though I play singles
in Germany you are a LEGEND
I just want a shirt that says “climbing the VGC Regulation D ladder giving live commentary as I go.” 😢
I remember when the Hisuian mons were coming in to ScVi via Home and everyone were losing their minds on Arcanine-H having Rock Head (its HA), insane attack stat and a ton of moves benefitting from the ability. But literally every version of Arcanine I've run into has been the intimidate set, which makes me actually pretty happy. Though because of how little of the rock head set I've seen makes me wonder if it is even possible to get the Arcanine with its Hidden Ability?
Ability capsules/patches should still work on it, right?
intimidate’s value can’t be understated in VGC
It cannot. Just the fact that literally everyone was super excited about using the hidden ability and it never gaining *any* popularity in the end was the funny part for me. I do personally prefer the Intimidate sets as I said in the OG post!@@sxewhil
Bonjour, from a fellow Aaron. ❤
This meta is SO STALE.. I’m having a hard time picking up the game everyday, even every week because the staleness. (Masterball rank every game every season pretty much..) I appreciate your content but also can’t wait for new Mons
We eating good today
Is Urshifu overpowered? Or is it just the best Pokémon in the meta
It has a lot of tools that makes it pretty good. I can't reall say that's op but it does outclass quite a bit of mons
It's moreso it's ability that pushes it over the edge. Protect is the backbone of Doubles, so having an ability that full-punishes that will always be seen as "broken". It's other great qualities simply push it that much over.
as i go gang
WE RIDE
QOTD: I honestly thought it would be a lot worse, its still not as good as Reg 1 was imo but its okay
QOTD: still sucks that it's a meta revolving around transfer-only mons. I probably still won't play until that is fixed
Fixed? Do transfer Pokémon have like glitched stats that make them better or smthn?
@@RetroVedZed no, just let me own them by catching them in scarlet/violet so I can build a team myself
@@boeniman7553 oh, I see. Hopefully that happens in the DLC
Firts game did go like brrr
"Fire type isn't common."
Uploads this video.
Players watched this added Hisuian Arcanine in their teams.
"Oops."
Unfortunately you can't helping hand gholdengo
Obligatory algorithmic contribution
I personally use froslass
Instead of chien
I honestly like my low paced teams more then most and competitive Pokémon this generation is honestly just ruining it for me
Even though it feels like team diversity is at an all-time low, you still make vgc ranked battles interesting
I like these teams lately but it seems if you don't include Urshifu or Flutter it's not a competitive team. Which is a shame. I would love to see more pokémon shine
It's really not as bad as other gens, to be honest, I feel like this meta has a good balance of stuff to use, while being fairly new
definitely way better than reg c. that was a wasteland
Never been this early 🤨
Comment for the algorithm
Yip yapple, wah boo muh flaffle, loloq
can we get choice band extreme speed dnite
mom: we have that at home
choice band extreme speed dnite at home:

I just got destroyed by this team

God I hate the meta tornadus fluttermane and urshifu my least fave mons
They can’t all be the STRONGEST team
