- In this video, I try out a hard Trick Room team that reached Rank #1 in the Pokemon Showdown ladder featuring Oranguru and Enamorus-Therian! Enamorus was not a very common Pokemon in the Regulation D format but can be an absolute monster, especially with Choice Specs and Fairy Tera. The team utilizes Oranguru and Bruxish to set up Trick Room, Maushold to help enable Trick Room, and other sweepers like Power Belt Urshifu and Flame Orb Ursaluna!

I think the primary reason why we haven't seen any Enamorous-T in Reg D is just because if you want to avoid getting hack-checked, you have to catch an Enamorous in PLA which is an absolute chore given it's literally one of the very last Pokémon you encounter in the game's post-game. I gave up trying to get a 0IV one after 128 attempts and that was with me hoping my method was correct which in hindsight means it could be wrong. Given the fact that even finding an Enamorous with 0 Effort Levels in the desired stat can still be transfered to Home and end up having up towards 20 IVs. I was just going by raw numbers in the game and hoping to match the level 70 Enamorous 0 speed IVs stat in-game. But apparently transferring to Home from PLA can add IVs depending on whatever Pokémon Company witchcraft is at work.
It's simply not worth the effort to go through all of that when you simply have Flutter Mane right there.

i would rank reg d like 6/10 especially after playing ‘reg e’ on showdown because more teams feel viable in the new format and urshifu’s drop in usage feels like a healthier meta

I wonder how much of enamorous not seeing play has to do with how hard it is to get optimal IVs on it.

I'm using Enamorus on my Double Genie team. Thundurus creates some great openings with Contrary + Scary Face/Eerie Impulse. I wish it was easier to get a hold of a second one to use Enamorus T.
Definitely cool to see the unusual strategies utilized by the opponents in this video.
I’ve always wanted to build a team with EnamorousT… too bad that it’s almost impossible to catch one with the right IVs

@@Cillianx1 there's no way I know for sure but we now see that they add new things and changes to the games without us having to wait a whole 3 or 4 years until the next generation. So we shall wait and pray haha

I haven’t seen the whole vid but this idea immediately popped into my mind when I thought of how this team can be adapted for reg E and I instantly thought of weakness policy blood moon Ursaluna with side aqua jet from bruxish

QOTD: I’d give Reg D a 4/10. I started getting back into comp Pokémon during this format because of the new Pokémon from PLA but Urshifu being included made the meta incredibly overcentralizing

I wonder if at 32:35 you could have self-U-turned to cover for double protect. That could knock out Bruxish and then you have both sweepers out, punishing the double protect? Cool team and video :)

Hi Aaron my question for you is what Pokemon do you feel is underrated that you would like to return in the next dlc? This could be underrated in terms of competitive play or just a Pokemon you don’t think gets enough love as a design.
As for qotd I’d rate regulation D a 6/10, the amount of iron hands, urshifu, and flutter runner about got kinda boring but I’m really excited to see how regulation E will bring to the table to counter these.
Battlecruiser Dondozo looks like so much fun! I assume if Tatsu goes down to poison, then opponent can have boosted Dondozo and healing Cress on the field simultaneously.

I panicked at 26:05 where you almost instruct the Dondozo instead of the Urshifu. It wouldve been a great lesson to never rush your actions. Great games!

Hey Aaron, when you post teams in Showdown, are the rental codes putting in the IVs and EVS automatically or do you have to do that manually?
QOTD: Might seem harsh but I'm going to give Regularion D a 3/10, the main reason being that I think in terms of cartridge play this format was just outright bad for the game. Allowing Pokémon that aren't obtainable in the game you're currently playing, and might even be exclusive to expensive DLC content in other games, just exposes a lot of the issues with Pokémon games as a whole and makes playing competitive way less accessible. And it's not like the Pokémon from other games made for super cool additions either, they're mostly just the really strong Legendaries that were always good, and even some outright overcentralizing and unbalanced ones like Urshifu. I pretty much felt like I couldn't keep up any more when this format started since I can't feasibly obtain all these transfer Pokémon.
Had a lot of fun watching your videos on the format though!

I love how Wave Crash isn't just useful to deal damage but also to knock out your Bruxish on turn 2 to get in your other sweeper

I will always say that oranguru is one of the best trick room support mons. Instruct next to a sweeper mon is just so damm potent. And you can give it telepathy to avoid it being hit by earthquake or surf. I did that exact strategy with slowbro and it was so potent

Can anyone explain the set up for game 2? I dont get what the skill swap was for.
I'll assume whoever runs therian forme enamorus, they were either using a pokemon with a suboptimal iv spread or a genned one.

Good luck getting 0 Atk and Speed on Enamorus without PkHex. I swear we need a way to lower IVs on a pokemon with some kinda item. Once that happens, PKHex will be primarily used for getting in game items.
Wanna know the funny thing? Gamefreak basically introduced multiple slow pokemon and a new ursaluna who you can only obtain one of and they still didn't give us a 0 iv item even with all the slow mons introduced like sinistcha, ursa, dipplin. Lol

I don't know if a chess metaphor lands here but these hard trick room strats feel like castling queenside in the opening and throwing your kingside pawns down the board. You either blow your opponent up in a few turns while you have the initiative, or they defend well enough for your initiative to fizzle out and then blow you up instead. Either way it's gonna be a bloodbath
i never put two and two together but i love playing the kings indian defense in chess, and hard trick room in vgc lol

Wish Enamorus was easier to obtain, I'm sure it would've seen some usage if it weren't for being required to play LOA until the end of the story mode.
