I don't play bass, well, I do sometimes but not primarily- I play guitar. That said- this is an amazing video idea; you guys should do this with more basses and guitars. I was surprised at how good that first Ibanez sounded, didn't expect that. I was also impressed with the P bass, the Jazz bass, and the Dingwall. I'd say I noticed a definite step up in the tone quality after the Fender Player. Everything after it sounded smoother, more rounded, less harsh than everything before it.

I like this a lot. It's much easier to hear what something sounds like when you've got a reference point from a bunch of other models, including at least one, like a P or J that's likely to be familiar. The Sire D5 and the T-Bird were the champs, but there are a lot of great sounds here. The Ibanez sounded surprisingly good.

Its not my cup of tea, but that Dingwall would be a metal monster. On a budget I would pick the Ibanez. With a mid budget, Fender P. No budget, Warwick.

I have the Ibanez Sr305- 5 string version. Looking at this shootout, I love my Ibanez even more! My picks Ibanez, Epiphone Newport(coral color-in my wishlist), Rex brown, Fender Jazz 66. They all have a beefy fat tone. The rest are more glassy in tone, doesnt suit my tone or style. But they are all good in their own way. I loved Sire D5 on the low end, the growl hit me but the high end is more twangy. Maybe I might add that to my list😅
