    On Today's Episode:
You likely dream about success and have a deep desire to earn more money, genuinely help people, and you probably struggle making it happen like many people do. Being low on resilience every time you come against an obstacle or challenge, dealing with high levels of anxiety, and never having enough energy to really execute the way you want to are holding you back.
Before your frustration takes you to the next level, let’s consider poor brain health may be the thing holding you back. You have to optimize your health to be successful, and your brain health is a must.
Dr. Daniel Amen, clinical psychiatrist of the Amen Clinic reveals 7 steps to boost your brain health so you can build a brain that lowers the risk of a poor quality of life, and increases your brain function so you can reach the levels of success and financial rewards you’re looking for.
One of the key takeaways is understanding that feeling down, depleted, moody, and over anxious are not just mental health issues, they are brain health concerns you can address and do something about, starting right now.

I made the choice to turn around my health and the next day I broke my ankle falling down the stairs. I am not mobile at all around the house because I am overweight and I can't pull myself up on my non dominant leg. I now see how a healthy weight and strong muscles will benefit you in case of an accident. So I now have the motivation and I know my WHY I want a healthy weight.

If you can cut out sugar and intermittent fasting you can lose weight so easily. I'm fully disabled and can't aerobically exercise to lose weight. I had to lose weight after a surgery and lost 20kg in two or three months with ease. I am 30 so I have a pretty average metabolism. You can do it!
I'm also beginning weight training, unfortunately I'm left in crippling pain after working out, but I know that I'm looking after my future self with these decisions. As I'm already disabled I'm already at a higher risk, so reducing it in any way as I begin to age is very important.

And I safely and slowly upped supplements like magnesium, iodine, alpha lipoic acid, zinc, quercetin, Vit D, and K2 and more normal supplements. AND am doing body detox. The detox part is KEY also. Lots of safe info about doing it safely on YT. And yes, I reduced carbs and sugars with the IF but did not cut it out completely nor count carbs. You can do it!!

I found out that most shy people think they are rare, the only ones. I thought that until a professor asked the class of 40 how many considered themselves shy, and we were all shocked when about half the students raised their hands. I realized for the first time in my life that I was not weird for feeling shy, I had a lot of company. I realized the people around me needed support from me too. I felt much less shy from that moment on, it reset my perception.

My problem with Dr. Amen and his clinic is that they won't see you unless you have lots of money.
I had a TBI and was struggling. I had a hard time adjusting to my new "life.." They wouldn't see me. If these people love and are so passionate about their work they should be able to be charitable.
I was a medical professional before my injury. I gave people away services about 10 per cent of my yearly income. It helped them and I felt like I was contributing to the marginalized community who are rarely seen, and that I'm now I'm a part of.

Dr. Amen has books that are designed so that you can discern what/where your issues are.. Some of the tests the doctor does are very expensive to administer such as the "in time" SPECT scans. The info in the books enables you to easily tell how your brain is being effected.

Never really thought about what I wanted until then. I never thought my life was about what I wanted. But I nailed it down that day. I wanted the Kingdom of God that is in my heart,to make my world the same. From that day on ,and I’m 65 now,I’ve found joy and happiness i the opening of my heart wherever I am. Every night before I go to sleep,I look back at what my open heart brought me ,peace and contentment, security I can trust in to close my eyes and dream of the could be’s to come. Mine is the kingdom within and nothing less.

As a naturopath/kinesiologist I treat anxiety, depression, panic attacks, early dementia, poor cognition with supplements and sometimes kinesiology with great results.
Many need to also address lifestyle issues, but it's hard to do that if one is suffering anxiety for eg. Bringing a person back to homeostasis gives them a window to address their underlying issues. Dealing with food intolerances, heavy metal load, poor nutrition also essential.
It is remarkable what correct supplementation at the right dose can do.

I also had to learn that when I sometimes have a bad day, that does not mean I'm relapsing. It's just a bad day. Everything changed when I understood that my mind is made by my brain and my gut.

@@martinepeters9891 I don't know about their breathing exercises, but I've found incredible results with:
      - Dr Wiel's 2 main breathing exercises he recommends, and (possibly more importantly) breathing exercises from
      - The Oxygen Advantage guy. These OA ones are like nothing else I've done, and I can see direct improvement with them. Which ones you start with depends on a self applied test score, so I can't recommend specifc exercises. But I do encourage borrowing cheating or stealing the book, and going to the website. The protocol is unlike anything I had seen, and makes an incredible amount of common sense even though some of the science behind it seemed counter intuitive initially.

    • @reyne8424
      @reyne8424 Před rokem

@@martinepeters9891 @Piano Progress Channel Martine Most importantly I do different forms of compound breathing. That means full breaths in the belly, the chest and the shoulders and out the other way around. Singers use this technique, thats actually how i first learned it. Just meditating while fully breathing can make a huge difference. In the beginning it is easier to breathe fully while standing. I practice Master Jiang Yu Shan's Breath of Mental Power and his version of the Buddhist QiGong Form, which involves compound breathing. Breathing isn't complicated, once one learns how to use the whole body to breathe. It is less about pattern and more about depth. Patters only make it easier to regulate depth.

For 10 years I suffered with headaches, neurocognitive issues, muscle pain, heart problems etc. finally a doctor tested me for Lyme disease and I was positive. @@cespo77 I have ups and downs but overall pretty good. Honestly, eating right, exercising, getting proper sleep, and not drinking or smoking have been the best treatment. I really take those things seriously. My friends give me a hard time because I’m always the first to leave a party. I take a thyroid and progesterone replacement. I take low dose naltrexone to keep my autoimmune disease in check and I take a low dose blood pressure med. I’ve avoided diabetic meds by eating better and exercising. I get weekly massages to help with muscle problems. But the exercising also helps with that. On occasion I will need something to help me short term, for example a muscle relaxer if my spasticity issues act up, or ketamine if my anxiety gets out of control. But if I’m doing preventative things I rarely need those.

This past year Been hit by a car, 5 month worked at recovery, couldn’t workout or run multiple surgeries, brain aneurysm fixed slowed me down, grateful they found it before it killed me, bike accident, bruised knee. Kept me down, If you can move. Whatever you can do DO IT! Sedentary lifestyles make us look feel and be ugly and unhealthy along with alcohol processed high salt fat foods meat and dairy will surely kill us. Worst is we are miserable. I know my lifestyle saved me and I recovered well because I never stopped doing all I can do. It heals the mind too. The depression is awful if we let it go. We need purpose and connection too. My mom who I took to chemo and radiation went in the hospital the week of my surgery on my right ankle I couldn’t see her.and passed away. Not getting along w family is draining also. We need to be as sharp as we can. It is the only thing we control is what we do with our bodies and what we put in them. I need to remind myself often when moving is exhausting but it is essential. If I can do this anyone can. I wish you courage and determination to treat yourself well. ❤️🙏🏻💜💪🏻

I listen to these videos while driving just about everyday. This may be my favorite interview. It’s certain foods your doctor will have you avoid if you have poor functioning organs such as liver, pancreas, heart or kidneys, but I’ve never heard a mental health professional speak about diet correlating to mental health and when I tell ppl this they agree but they don’t usually do anything different. they think it’s a small issue of diet affecting mental health. As I’ve changed my diet drastically my mental health has been 1000 times better. Also I shut down social media and haven’t watch the news in years because the positive stories don’t get reported as much as the negative. They will cover a mass shooting on every channel for an entire week but just 30 seconds of a story about Someone helping in the community. The news terrifies ppl and it might actually make severely mentally ill ppl do more evil things just to be seen.

Sorry for the late response I’m rarely online. I’ve watch videos of Dr. Alan Goldhamer and Dr. Bobby Price and it changed my life. I follow a plant based diet and avoid processed foods the best I can. But if I do eat something processed, I’m not hard on myself. I eat high water content fruits and veggies, not a lot of bananas. I avoid a lot of dried foods that dehydrate you like raisins or sun dried tomatoes etc. I don’t really eat anything cooked until dinner, just raw fruits and veggies all day. I Stop eating few hours before bed. Daily herbal teas the list goes on. Daily Smoothies with seamoss, Very importantly I water fast and detox periodically especially if I’m looking to adjust my eating to be more clean or disciplined. I water only fast like a week or 2 first to detox and set my palate and it trains my tastebuds to actually crave what I’m trying to eat and changes the microbiome in my gut and some light exercise to increase serotonin levels automatically putting me in a great mood all the time I only really feel in a weird mood like a day after I’ve eaten processed foods.

The research is there on why eye movements help process trauma. Based on the poly vagal discovered by Dr. Stephen Porges. The autonomic nervous system is constantly scanning your environment for cues of danger or safety. From my understanding, the tactile stimulation helps create a sense of belonging and com to the nervous system, therefore decreases the threat, therefore allows this traumatic memory to be brought up in a safe space.

I love these interviews, they are literally life transforming! Toms questions bring out the most important points, but, I hate to say this in a public format, but, Dude, you keep interrupting him. You ask him for the seven dragons, then you get him on a rabbit trail describing one of them in detail. I’m not sure if he ever got to the rest of them (because I’m writing this comment as this is a pattern and after several occurrences of this, now I’m frustrated with it.) MY brain is looking for the rest of the list, or some coherence to your interview. All in all, your show is awesome. Even your commercials are short, informative, even motivating because they are relevant. We understand that they are necessary, so thank you for that. (Otherwise, maybe use an outline to guide you?)
Regardless, keep up the good work!

This is a common problem with Tom, he's impatient, and he seems not to accept this feedback from his listeners. Lewis Howes is the best host by far and his listeners praise him for his listening and patience. He writes notes during the interview and asks questions at the appropriate time. And he has very insightful questions! He's had Dr. Amen on.
My frustration is Tom's interviews are so long. It's simply unnecessary. He needs to do a part 1,2,3 series from his interview. Notice here this is 2 separate interviews as their clothes have changed.

We better start slow and keep going. In the long run, our health will be better. It's a good investment. If you're not convinced, visit friends or family who are sick.
Our brain also need our attention. I remember my late grandma even forgetting who her son was. It's not how any of us would like to live in our old age.
