20 more minutes and you can change the transmission and rear drive oil. You should keep an eye on the air box for oil. Some Guzzi don’t like the oil filled to the top of the stick. It will blow the excess in the air box.
Thanks Ronnie. Next week's weather looks bad so maybe a good time to change the transmission and rear drive oil. I ordered some, lower pegs but they sent the supposedly the correct one but the y didn't work and I had to send them back today.
Yup. I put in 3300 CC with a filter change, and check level after a couple hundred miles. Anything over that and I get oil down the drain hose from the air box. That will cause problems with the idle stepper motor in time.
My granddaughter is forever after me to clean up my shop. I do enjoy the motorcycle lift it saves my back and knees. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice looking bike! I love mine. What kind of exhaust are you running? Did you do anything with the airbox? Dynajet Commander V? Let me know if you ever have any problems with starting. I can help you out.
Yes the SG disappeared from our shelves at least 5 years ago. This SN is recommended and is acceptable according to Mr. Bill, something about the gear box and transmission and oils being separate. The online Moto Guzzi vendors also sell this oil for the bikes. The API rating is supposed to backwards compatible and the friction modifiers would not affect my clutch because it is a dry and not a wet clutch. I have read pros and cons about using this oil. Motorcycle oils are rated is a JASO but the 10W60 is not so I'm researching it some more.
I'll have to check my book out in the shop tomorrow and see what I recorded. I started keeping books on each bike so I don't forget when maintenance is due on one of the six bikes. Unfortunately I know longer have the owners manual to check it against again since I sold the Moto Guzzi in February .
The book calls for 3.6L but I could only add 3.25L. Initially it took on 3.0L to get to full line but after running and letting it sit for ten minutes or so it needed another. 25L to get to the full mark.

Yes most in the know say fill the oil only to the middle of the low/high lines to prevent the oil blow into the air filter.

@monsterslayer4317 Good information
ottimo lavoro, invidio il tuo garage molto grande , e sopratutto la pedana per alzare la moto e lavorare senza stare sdraiati a terra.

GPR two into one. No mods to airbox. Thanks I did solve the starter interruptus problem already. My nephew now as the Guzzi.
Think I need a maintenance lift in my garage. Stupid question time but is that car or motorcycle specification oil you are using?

@@flatcapcaferacer Yes I get the reasoning with the dry clutch and separate gearbox 👍
If you liked the video it would be great if you took a second to give it thumbs up.
