    The HobbyZone® AeroScout™ S is the perfect trainer because it makes learning to fly an RC airplane easier and more fun than ever before! It’s equipped with exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology that helps to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so nearly everyone can learn to fly successfully. Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced modes allow you to choose the level of stability and control you need, or are ready to try, at the flip of a switch. Plus you can instantly return to steady flight using Panic Recovery with the push of a button in any flight mode. Its unique “pusher” power configuration offers improved safety along with better propeller and motor protection, and its built with advanced EPO material that makes it extremely durable. Oversized tires and a steerable nose wheel make it easy to take off from and land on a variety of surfaces including grass at large parks, soccer and other suitable flying fields. The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a Spektrum DXe controller/transmitter equipped with industry-leading DSMX® 2.4GHz control technology, plus a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and charger that make it easier and safer to charge. That means there’s nothing extra you need to buy or provide before you can fly!
    And the fun doesn’t stop after you learn how to fly! The powerful and efficient brushless power system delivers long flight times and provides plenty of speed and power to perform aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls and even inverted (upside down) flight. Plus, the lightweight design and low wing loading deliver a very wide flight envelope and incredible handling that even experienced pilots will appreciate and enjoy. The BNF Basic version (HBZ3850) is the perfect choice for those pilots because it allows them to use their favorite Spektrum™ transmitter along with batteries and chargers they may already own to fly with.

    I just bought this plane yesterday, and flew it. I have flown a friend's Timber, and I bought RealFlight simulator, so I have practiced a bit on that. This plane really is great. It was actually surprisingly easy to fly in beginner mode. Weirdly, I had more trouble taking off than expected, but I never crashed it. My friend, who has planes in his bathroom, kitchen, and living room, has a bunch of jets and flies 3D, was very impressed with it, too. Flew great literally right out of the box, didn't have to mess with the trim controls or mess with the cg. Creator was right in saying the battery rum time is very good, I flew for about 10 minutes each on two batteries, and still had 35-38% battery remaining.

    Like a couple of the others, I too am a rookie. I bought one of the $99.00 Rage R/C micro warbirds to learn / practice with. After approx. dozen flights I purchased this AeroScout RC Aircraft. Couple notable surprises with my 1st flight, while the A/C is much bigger it also flies much, much, faster which poses a new challenge and for me decreased reaction time for me, a rookie. Next, I was flying in beginner “0” mode on the transmitter, I was not expecting the minimal bank angle presenting me with the radius of turns being much, much wider. For me it was much easier to take off in beginner mode, fly my laps in intermediate mode and going back to “0” beginner mode for landing. Lastly, with the 2200 LiPo battery installed relatively far fwd. to maintain optimum W&B the magnetic black cockpit cover front lip does not fit. So, I had to place a quarter size piece of clay in the area fwd. of the battery to facilitate installation of the black cockpit cover. Be cautious of the Battery cables and connector interfering with the servos. I needed to place the battery installed with terminal cables facing fwd and running back, over the top of the battery secured with the Velcro strap. Anyone else exp. troubles with the magnetic cover and battery cable fitting and placement? All that said I enjoy it and it’s very fun to fly.

    Great demo of the AeroScout. I love mine. I worked out how to implement auto leveling into the intermediate mode (mixing channels 5 and 6 without forward programming) which I like better. The safe beginner was just too restrictive for anything other than landing. One other tip when using the safe mode to land, with the built in throttle/elevator mix, if you keep just a bit of throttle on during the landing, or add a bit of throttle just before touchdown, rather than full throttle cut, it will land without the bounce as well. Just use the throttle to adjust your angle of decent.
    You won't go wrong with the AeroScout!

      I crashed mine bad a few times, the last not as bad but longer lasting effects. The right aileron is bad and the motor was disconnected from the esc and when I re connected it the motor acted as if it was trying to turn both directions but won't turn, what could be wrong? Thank you.

With your current early Black Friday sale... both are $199, so price is not the issue. I plan to mostly fly in local parks and soccer fields. Based on that info, what is your recommendation on which one to get and why? Your feedback is greatly appreciated!!

    I have this Aero Scout with factory receiver. I am using a new DX6e transmitter. I am having trouble and need help. I flew many flights with success with the DX6e. The stabilization was working perfectly. I recently hit hard and had to replace the steering servo. I flew 10 more successful flights with the new servo. Stabilization was working with the switch to on or off position. Today I put the battery in switched the switch to activate the asx gyro flight stabilization what ever you want to call it. And it had the rudder move in the opposite direction when I move the ailerons. It also has up elevator when I move the ailerons. No rudder was applied in the sticks I only move the ailerons. When I switch the stabilization switch off the plane works correctly. I made a new model and rebound the Aeroscout and I still have the problem with reversed rudder and up elevator with the stabilization switch on. Is there a mode change that might have happened by accident or is it broken. Making a new model and rebinding should have reset everything. Anybody have any idea what happened.

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  Před 3 lety +1

      In the Beginner mode there is "mixing" built in that moves the elevator and rudder along with the ailerons (to make turns easier and smoother in that mode), as shown starting around the 2:15 mark in this video...so what you're seeing is normal and should be correct!

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  Před 2 lety

      More "C" = the ability to handle more current draw. Higher C rated batteries will typically run cooler and deliver slightly more power under load, but that comes at the added expense of larger size, more weight and higher cost. In this case the 50C and 100C batteries are longer and heavier than the 30C batteries and DO NOT FIT in the AeroScout (they're too long)! They also offer no performance advantage in the AeroScout...they are better suited for high performance EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet and other models. Please only buy extra 2200mAh 30C batteries for use in the AeroScout (they will also work in most of our other models as well!).

    A neighbor gave me an RC plane he wasn’t using anymore a few months ago. I decided to finally fix it up and fly it this week. On the 2nd fly of the plane(today), I completely obliterated it. The non-English speaking workers on a nearby roof laughed and pointed at me, and said a bunch of things in Spanish I didn’t understand. I grenaded the motor, the plane is severed in half and other pieces are destroyed. At this point in time, I think it’s best that I stick to racing...that is, racing 1/8 and 1/10 scale off road, which is on the surface... I probably should’ve practiced some in a flight simulator...

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  Před 4 lety +2

      Both are EXCELLENT choices and are capable of the more advanced flying/aerobatics you see in this video! The Carbon Cub S+ also includes GPS-enabled SAFE Plus technology that adds AutoLand, Virtual Fence and Holding Pattern functions to the standard SAFE functions, plus it can be equipped with optional floats and upgraded to have flaps. It's also a scale model of a real airplane (CubCrafters Carbon Cub) and some prefer the looks of that. But either way you can't go wrong!

    • @Oni76
      @Oni76 Před 4 lety +1

      I would've loved to have started with something like this. I too wanted a Carbon Cub S (+ wasn't out when I started flying about 1.5 years ago) because I love the scale looks. Plus at the time, all larger scale trainers were very similarly priced in the $200-250 range. But to be honest, your first plane will get beaten up if not broken at some point, and those scale looks go out the window fast (if that's what draws you towards the Carbon Cub). After watching this video, the AeroScout is clearly a great flying plane, and once you're flying, you won't honestly care what you're flying. It'll be more important to have something that is reliable and gets you the most amount of stick time for the least amount of money. Then, I'd go for the Cub. :) This is all assuming this is your first plane, and for the price, this is seriously hard to beat.

      HorizonHobbyProducts thanks for the quick response. You have convinced me, Carbon Cub all they way, it looks great anyway. Do you think I should get it with flaps taking into account that I am a quite beginner?

      Oni thanks for the advice. I thought about it too. I am flying a cheap RC plane, the XK 520 VTOL in order to get more experienced. I am still editing my maiden flight and I can tell you that I had some accidents, LOL. I am also planning to get the RF9 simulator to get trained. But you are right, I would hate to see my first scale plane crash and broken up. Thanks for the advice again.

      @@nathangarciamuro There's no benefit or need to use flaps when learning to fly, but you can add them after you learn to fly and when you're ready for additional capabilities!

      Don't fly low until you feel 100% in control it will save you a lot of money or time and supplies to fix it lol Learn to flare the plane on landing which means pull down on the elevator right before touch down and you will land a lot softer and want bounce always use very small movement on the controls at first unless absolutely necessary like if the wind is pushing ya a bit never fly in strong winds at first pick a very calm day to maiden I watched a bunch of videos I still do lol That helped me a lot I just ordered one of these can't wait to get it in the air Hope that helps ya peace

    When taking off for the first time in beginner mode, should a person be using high or low rates? If someone would be kind enough to provide me with this information? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      I’m no expert, but I recall instruction calling out low rate. I too just bought this A/C just a few days ago, my 1st flight today, was challenging, stressful but successful. Did you have any problems with battery installed interfering with the black magnetic cockpit cover fitting with battery installed? I just posted a long winded reply outlining my rookie exp. observations and asking a few related questions.

      @@Mountian-Zen Yes I had to move the battery back a little for the canopy to close tightly. But didn’t seem to affect the center of gravity. Great flying little plane.

    Is it possible to add a 3s 5200mah battery for longer flight times?

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  Před 3 lety +1

      No, 3S 2200mAh is about the largest that will fit. And the flight times are typically 10-20+ minutes with 3S 2200mAh batteries...that's more than long enough for most people (and longer than most other similar class models fly)!

    Just a note for totally new guys like me! All of these videos show ideal conditions. You NEED a smooth takeoff area, anyone that uses grass for a runway means a very smooth sod like surface. On a normal surface (short grass but not a "manicured yard") it required full throttle and over 20' to take off which is why I am now searching for the best foam glues! Nosewheel / rudder control is almost non existent on a rough ( normal) yard surface. Not a fault of the airplane. Just watching too many videos under perfect conditions!

      2$ lipo alarm is the simplest pretty safe way but you can set a timer or you get telemetry but that's going to cost you some cash and you have to install the electrons which isn't that hard you can find videos on it probably on this channel great channel to I must say

    Nobody is talking about how to fly like the plane comming back to you the controls are backwards????

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  Před 2 lety +1

      The controls are not backwards...they always respond the same! What you're seeing the airplane do is opposite when it's coming towards you, but this is not an issue because you should not think in about! Thinking about it will cause confusion...when you start a turn, you should keep turning so the airplane doesn't end up pointing right at you. Most people learn this within the first few flights. If you're struggling with it, you should enlist the help of an instructor and/or practice on the RealFlight RC simulator: www.horizonhobby.com/airplanes/radio-systems/simulators/
