I’m 49 and I’m hiking half of the AT this summer.

I found a drybag with a air valve on it so you can cram all your stuff into it and then just sit on it and it will squish down like one of those vacuum bags for clothing storage.

I have a phone pocket like that from CTUG. I keep a quart size ziplock bag in my hipbelt pocket and put my phone in the bag when there is heavy rain and then put it back in the shoulder strap pocket. Works great.

That was so informative. Seriously, I love the water bottle, even if it's tricky to clean. And I 100% agree, a hooded sunshirt is so versatile, it the little engine that could. I wear it for everything. Enjoy the winter hikes. Thanks fo3 posting 😊

I found myself using a sun hoodie more this summer, I picked one up from burgeon outdoors in Lincoln, NH and now I use it on every hike

Great information. LMNT is my go to hydration and I love the variety of flavors. It really helps cut down on leg cramping. Those shokz headphones I need to check out. Since I retired, I am working a parttime job to replace some of my gear.

Happy Friends Day especially to all those who are not in a relationship. Taylor another great Thru Hiker equipment review. I especially like the idea of the compression sack. The long sleeve sun hoody is a must. Please keep on posting. Will you be in communication with any ‘24 AT Thru Hikers.. interviews with them and your experience would be very interesting to hear & see. Think about it. ❤😊

First off, congratulations on setting a goal and getting after it. 👏 You're going to have to do a celebratory vlog when you hit 100. 😊 I love the concept of those headphones. I have ridiculously small ear canals, and can't do earbuds. Your water bottle is pretty sweet too. Great video Taylor. ✌️

After doing some extensive sea kayaking in the OBX, I was sold on the sun protection long-sleeved shirts and hoodies. They cover the neck and arms and are surprisingly cool. I'm glad you were able to discover that on the last AT run.

SeaToSummit Evac Compression Dry Bag UL is my go to for waterproof ultralight compression. eVent bottom panel works awesome. Since HMG came out with the Crux, they have the removable hip belt with one gear loop and one pocket, which I use on the Unbound 40.

bone conduction headphones aren't for everyone and some people may not respond well to them. Ensure you understand the different waterproof/waterresitance rating of the models within the line if you are going to use for hiking.

Thanks for sharing. I like the hydropak style soft flasks too. Only downside is maybe won't stand on their own when filtering water into them. I love my OR Astroman sunhoody too. Very soft feeling.

Any chance you could do a video on the inreach mini? Not sure if you used the active track feature. What were the best settings to provide a good track but also not use up battery to quickly.

I bought the hydrapak bottle for my shoulder strap after seeing your video but unfortunately it became one of my most disappointing gear items. Untill its half full everything is fine, but after that I can hardly get any water out anymore. Glad that it still works for you because I can absolutely see why you like it so much

I can’t get over the thin straps on a hyperlite bag. For me, there are just much more comfortable packs at the same weight. Superior wilderness designs for one.

Hi Taylor! I always enjoy your videos and have a question about your Hydroflask water system.. What did you use to attach it to your shoulder strap? I'm not a good drinker when I'm hiking and I'd like to see if this system will help me out! I have ordered the hyroflask but I just don't know what to search for the holder for my pack. Any advice would be awesome! (Love the new gear shop by the way :-))

I'm surprised TBO.. Nylofume bag liners have worked great for me for 8-10 years. Use both hands and leave a small hole at the top and push down around the hole to compress and get the air out. Then just twist the top several times, then fold over and tuck it on the side. While in the pack I have never put a hole in one in .

Heck yeah I never hike without a fanny pack. I've dubbed it the "snack pack" because I've literally stuffed a pound bag of trail mix into it to graze on while I hike. Also I own 2 Astromans and it's so great for summer. Sun hoodies are a real game changer.
