    This car should've been the cover art for Midnight Club: DUB Edition. I just bought this 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG with an insane sound system, laid out on 20s with Brabus wheels. It doesn't get anymore DUB Edition than this.

    The old dealership sent the car off to an “independent “ shop trick… just an fyi the dealer pay 300 for a blank sheet of paper so they can pawn off their nightmare trades onto unsuspecting customers, and have plausible deniability if they get sued. If your shop is having a hard time covering the overhead, a dealer sending over 10-15 cars a month at 300 a pop is not a bad arrangement

    • @69Dartman
      @69Dartman Před 2 měsíci +4

      I kept slowly upgrading the stereo in my Dart when I finally decided I was sick of the factory am radio once I really started driving it. Grew to a Sony ES receiver, 2 12"s in 5 gallon buckets driven by a 150 watt a side soundstream amp, 8" woofers in the 6x9 spots, nice soft dome tweeters with 75 a side Alphasonic amp, up front Polk 5 inch package with the separate mid/tweeter module on the pillars and another Alphasonic 50 in the glove box. It sounded excellent and could thump if the music called for it. Old stuff now but that's when I was building it up as deals and ideas came up. The subs had a electronic crossover I found too that helped dial them in just right. My lil sisters Audiophile hubby was impressed with the sound when I finally got him to listen to it. I too went more for the sound I wanted even then, but of course it could get louder then anyone could take if that's what they wanted.
      I had a 1000 cca battery and the old school huge Mopar cop 100 amp alternator from the mid 70s to keep up with it.
      I haven't built anything like it since.

    As a w211 CDI owner (I’d say its a tie with the 55 as the best the engines these cars ever got, followed by the 6.2 N/A monster) which this car essentially is with a different body and interior, all this stuff is pretty minor really. My Drive Dynamic seats have never worked properly and randomly come on and off as they see fit, I don’t care enough to mess with it. Though my heating and cooling is flawless which once you get the control panel sorted out should be fine also. SBC has a 25 year no charge recall/warranty mine was just replaced. Be extremely careful with this if it’s already throwing faults… on my car one day I lost half my braking capability and what little was left pulled my vehicle into the adjacent lane at a stop light 😮. If it’s rust free, the engine and trans work great, the suspension isn’t trashed and you got it for the typical JR deal… you did fine. Just for the love of God don’t sell it to Alex. Dude gets everyone else’s projects for a steal then spends entire videos showing us how lucky he is it all worked out with “this one little fix” which honestly just got old after the 200th time. If he’ll collab with you to get the issues sorted, that’s different of course. But I think you can nail a lot of it yourself.

    • @marcusdamberger
      @marcusdamberger Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@MauriceNL1I was just thinking the same, they use cobblestone and brick all over Europe and not just in older areas that had it done in the past. My uncle in Germany moved into a new built neighborhood in the early 2000's and it has brick lined parking and sidewalks. Grew up in U.S. but go visit extended family every few years and have seen this everywhere I've gone over there.
      In U.S. they just tend to line everything with concrete. It's easy, fast and low skill job I guess.. The old neighborhood I used to live in had brick streets built in 1910. When they went to replace the sewer lines in the 80's they put the brick down and didn't even follow the dark brick from the light brick grouping they had before and just mixed it all up and couldn't even lay it down smoothly. To this day when I visit you can still clearly see where they tore up the street from the rough brick uneven surface and mixed up color. The contractor clearly didn't know how to deal with brick, and maybe if it had been done today they would have been required to get a proper brick laying contractor to finish the job. People were upset at the shoddy job.

    Super cool install! those power components are the SHIZNT for sure. I do not believe it was a Rockford build, i see a lot of stinger products used in the install. Rockford has their own brand of wiring and distribution blocks so i would assume if it was their show vehicle, they would have used all Rockford brand products. May have been an audio shop display vehicle in their showroom to promote Rockford. Also, a little e6000 glue on that dust cap and it will be good as new. Never seen a Rockford dust cap come loose on a P3, maybe they got the coils super-hot before and the glue just released over time.

    Been there and done that with a few of the problems you have with the car. Undervoltage can cause a bunch of these systems to go into protection mode. replace the batteries, and I think there's a aux battery as well. Clear the codes, and many of these things will likely work again.
    On the brakes, reset the SBC activation numbers. Maybe reinitialize the SBC pump.
    You likely have a lot fewer problems than you think.
    Recently, I bought a mercedes at auction with a dead battery. Was laughed at at the auction (farm equipment auction) about getting it onto a trailer. I swapped the battery which they didn't think was possible, cause the battery was under the seat, and drove the suv onto the trailer. There were about 270 error codes, with almost all of them being voltage related issues. all but 2 cleared. One is a legit problem with the ignition module, and I don't remember the other one.

    It looks like now would be a perfect time to turn the traction control off to be sure that you leave no tread on that tire with the extra bubble-maybe do so a few feet away from the tire shop for safety. With the tint on the windows and RF amps shaking the store fronts a block away no one will barely notice the tire smoke 💨. Safe Travels JR 🇺🇸 PS how much was that sled?

    If my memory isn't failing me, the number of doors on a car does not define a coupe or a sedan. A coupe does not have a window frame, so when the windows go down only the door is left. A sedan on the other hand has a frame surrounding the window and is still present when the window goes down.
    The 58 Impala was a two door sport coupe and the 58 Chevy BelAir and DelRay were offered as a two door sport sedans.
