Frank Celenza on drums, yes one of the best. Brent Lucanus was a great singer, passed away in November 2021 as did the older lead guitarist not that long ago. All songs written by master songwriter Paul McCarthy, who also deserved to be much more successful. Paul passed away recently in Perth as well. I saw the boys many times at the White Sands and also saw them do support for the Angels at the Raffles hotel. They were really good.
This song deserved to be top 5 in australia if not a number 1. From what i can remember, the radio stations of the day never got behind this band and played their singles. From the people of australia.......i would like to give a heartfelt apology to the members of the band......because you had something and deserved way more success.
A nite of lonelyness of XV years ago I was trying to download some good music for free when I looked The Boys in the library of someone. I never had in my collection a record of that early punk band from London that released four albums between '77 and '81.. So I discovered the Boys from Perth and one of the most underrated and incredibly forgotten power pop album.. one of the most amazing aussie records that I never heard. In my personal top ten with the Hoodoo Gurus, Celibate Rifles, Sunnyboys, the Stems, Died Pretty, the Church, Scientists, Saints and Radio Birdman In the same way I discovered the X from Sidney, not the band from LA

Feel so honoured...he even got me into generator pub in 1982 first original line up boys renunion when doormen refused me bcause i was 14 yesrs old...thanks a lot lino...RIP lino, Brent, and Paul...true big inspirations.
Hugely popular with the Italians back in the day. Saw them late 80s at the Charles when Troy Newman took over as lead singer. What a line up they had, one of the best bass guitarists and one of the best drummers in Australia at the time.
i seen this band at bexley north hotel in nsw and they were fantastic i often wondered why he left the band he was a great singer and frontman and they were a great rock band so sad if hes passed they were fantastic
Lino lived a door or two from my old parents and there practices drove my dad up the wall, as he was a soft jazz type of dude. My mum didn't mind it as she was quite open minded, but did complain how they practiced the same bits over and over. I guess that was what they needed to do.
These Perth grown & cultured guys blew us away with their respective ages & talent. I was in a band called Golden Ivory at the time, and although only 3-4 years older, we still marvelled at their ability at ages 16-18. Amazing at the time. Well done fella's! Coso, Perth West Australia.
Always thought they were 15- 18🤔 Think I was 15 or 16('65) at the time & it was a big buzz having a great sounding band like the Boys.. & they're actually the same age & from Perth😲. 😎 AF I still spin the vinyl at least a few times a month🤘🤘
I've got two of their albums and I would rate this band as one of the best I've ever heard, no exaggeration, this is sublime Rock music. I'm a very harsh and tough music 'critic' and I can't fault this band. Thanks to Molly Meldrum and COUNTDOWN for promoting them. Without this exposure the band wouldn't have cracked the Top 100 Charts as they did.
I should have added I was 13 when I heard this already into the clash pistols etc but my god this so cool listening to this great song and album always hit a chord and singing to yourself while out there in the surf.. those days are gone but this brings it back.. thanks🎉😂

Musically, these lads really nailed it. And so did the sound guy (if there was one). Everything sounds so clear. Nothing hi-tech either, just good musicianship & a uteload of guitars, amps & drums.
@KILLING⚡HEROS The band was 'Unleashed' (unless it was 'Bowser' ... so long ago!) and the drummer was a nice bloke and showed me how to play some triplet patterns on his practice pad (a pretty good effort for any band's singer I reckon... ha ha!)
