So sorry for your loss. What a great band and what a great composition. I was so obsessed with this song when it came out. So was my sister. I was only 22. It’s just perfectly composed. I’m so glad it’s here to listen to over and over. Biggest condolences. ❤

Back in the 80's living in Perth there were so many great venues and fantastic bands you could see. I wish they would bring them back. Bands like the Eurogliders, Dugites and Boys put Perth on the map. Let's not forget the Jets. Such great memories. So sorry to hear about the passing of Lino a great muso. RIP Lino you will be remembered.

Frank Celenza on drums, yes one of the best. Brent Lucanus was a great singer, passed away in November 2021 as did the older lead guitarist not that long ago. All songs written by master songwriter Paul McCarthy, who also deserved to be much more successful. Paul passed away recently in Perth as well. I saw the boys many times at the White Sands and also saw them do support for the Angels at the Raffles hotel. They were really good.

From what i can remember, the radio stations of the day never got behind this band and played their singles.
From the people of australia.......i would like to give a heartfelt apology to the members of the band......because you had something and deserved way more success.

A nite of lonelyness of XV years ago I was trying to download some good music for free when I looked The Boys in the library of someone. I never had in my collection a record of that early punk band from London that released four albums between '77 and '81..
So I discovered the Boys from Perth and one of the most underrated and incredibly forgotten power pop album.. one of the most amazing aussie records that I never heard.
In my personal top ten with the Hoodoo Gurus, Celibate Rifles, Sunnyboys, the Stems, Died Pretty, the Church, Scientists, Saints and Radio Birdman
In the same way I discovered the X from Sidney, not the band from LA

Lino lived a door or two from my old parents and there practices drove my dad up the wall, as he was a soft jazz type of dude. My mum didn't mind it as she was quite open minded, but did complain how they practiced the same bits over and over. I guess that was what they needed to do.

I’d like you to give me 3 time stamps where you reckon the tempo changes throughout the song. We aren’t talking 3-5BPM which is a very minor and subtle change if the band wasn’t using a click track while recording the song… we are talking a significant change in tempo.

@@TheRealMrBeard Compare bpm at .07 to .25 secs. As I said 4 years ago, it speeds up noticeably.

@@genericgeorge Have you even bothered to put a metronome on while playing the song? You’ll notice quite easily that it remains @ 174BPM constantly throughout the song.
I’m not going to argue with you anymore, I just want you to realise that you are wrong and it’s okay to admit when you’ve made an error in your judgement.
