Pretty sure this was late 1991. I'm the backing vocalist! We played 5 'showcse' gigs just before the album was released. Three at the State Theatre in Sydney and 2 at the Palais in Melbourne. Backing vocalists are all Kiwis BTW! Annie Crummer, Debbie Harwood and me, Rikki Morris.

There is more off road testing in this ad compared to a modern dual cab ute ad.

The music of CH has aged well with me after I bought that first album with little knowledge of Split Enz. What surprises me is how cool I think these guys are on stage this many years later. I may not have appreciated their fashion sense at the time. I'd say they've managed an iconic look blending the avant garde Enz look with a kind of modernist Nudie suit style. Really makes for quite a combination with the potent musicianship and music here. Thanks for posting.

That underengineered four was dumped into a body built strongly enough to take a race-tuned V8. So it should've been no surprise to GMH that it was gutless, and also not more economical than the sixes. Who did that song, it's brilliant.

Later Archie Martin’s, Pellews, Woolworths, High street tram lines where the pedestrian mall now is, Culleys, Jean Machine, Shepherds news agency, Mays jewellers, Bairds, the Oriana cinema, the Princess cinema, the library on South terrace near or under one of the Italian cafes. So many great memories of a place we long to have back. A simpler time. Thank you for posting.
