    Description:
    This is a video removing an approximately 30 year old Moen 1225 cartridge in a bathtub faucet.
    If you cannot turn the tool left/right to break the seal, or its stuck, likely the cartridge is seized and the center stem will be removed only with the rest of the cartridge remaining stuck in the valve body. In that case, you will have to use the ½ tap and extract the cartridge using the bolts/washer as a puller. Link to 2 great videos showing this:

    The old brass Moen cartridges are 1220. The new revised plastic ones are 1225. (The 1222 is the posi-temp cartridge, totally different than this one in the video).
