- Cos playing Mando was fun!
I can't wait to take my son Luke trick-or-treating as Mando later this month!
I know, I know, I'm no Mando. I'm a big fan, so i'm well aware of just how cool the Mandalorian is. That show takes cool-ness and cute-ness to a whole new level!
New way to use the G2 5" Firebox Stove!
People have asked:
"When will you come out with the GEN 3 5" Firebox Stove?"
Which makes me think: "but the G2 Firebox is perfect..." I know that sounds like I'm bragging but I don't know how much credit I can take for the design. When the first prototypes were made we would find un-intended ways to use it. It's design seemed to have a life of its own! Its use potential seemed to reveal itself as we went along. We called it "the gift that keeps on giving" and still after 10 years of being on the market we, all of us Firebox fans are figuring out new ways to have fun with it! The 5" Firebox Stove is special and I wouldn't dream of changing anything about it. The new position (which will work for all 5" Firebox Stoves) was discovered by Dominik from Poland. Thanks Dominik! Is an awesome discovery because it allows you to cook two ways at the same time! Up on top, in a pot or pan, while roasting off to the side. The grill plate can slide out of this position, but It's easy to hold in place when working. Dominik's new position worked perfectly for me. I was able to cook my steak to a perfect edge to edge medium rare for the ultimate steak and eggs breakfast!
What an awesome adventure! I was expecting some light showers but still planned to camp out for two nights in two locations. Then, the storm got big enough that I had to make an emergency evacuation out of the high country to avoid being stuck for the impending dangerously cold night. I was worried about dumping my bike on the muddy ride out. But once I realized It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated, riding out in the rain became one of the most awesome adventure experiences of my life.
About my bike: It's a 2020 Husqvarna 701 enduro LR (made by KTM). I've lowered the gearing by 1 tooth in the front and 7 teeth in the back. I wanted to be able to slow way down on these rough steep mountain roads. It comes stock with two fuel tanks which gives you a 6.5 gallons capacity and fuel pump redundancy. It's very light weight when compared to adventure bikes but It's geometry is very oriented towards "off-road" (and I'm terrified of the infamous death wobble) so I lowered the rear by 1" and raised the front 1.5mm to give it more on-road stability. It has no inclination to wobble on the road. Even if I tempt it, it stabilizes very quickly, and still performs very well on the rough stuff. For me, It strikes the perfect balance between on and off road performance. Yes, on the highway, the rpms are higher than I would prefer but it still has plenty left over for passing. I've had it to 95 miles an hour and I don't think I was up against the rev limiter. It's my unicorn. I freaking love it! It's so much fun to ride!

I don’t envy Jeff Bezos. I don’t envy Dan Bilzerian. I envy this dude. I’m happy for your success brother.
Absolutely...Family, nature, cooking, and fishing. Just add goats.
Thank you so much for your kind support 🙏 cheers Jonathan!
definitely, the right kind of success
Ditto, Jonathan.
NAILED IT!
Thank you for taking us along on your "awesome adventures". I enjoy watching yours and you give me so many cookng ideas when I am on my own adventures.
Thanks so much Christie!
Gorgeous fall colours, and yes, that's a perfectly good reason for another cuppa!
Lol! Thanks for backing me up 👍
All the best to you and the family! Great video, been watching them with my grandparents to get their mind off news! They really enjoy them :)
That's awesome Mark! Thanks for letting me know. I used to watch dual Survival with my mom 👍
I've going to have our son watch this one. He goes into camping a couple of times a year. As usual fishing, great food and scenery. I just kept wanting to wipe my screen,
Thank you for watching! We are glad you enjoyed it Roger.
What an awesome adventure! You’ve hit on my favorite combination, biking and cooking and camping. Firebox stoves are such a perfect fit, always included on my trips no matter how small. Still have to sort out how to bring my fishing gear along.. working on that one
Thanks for watching, we appreciate your comment and support.
Well, aparently we three are leading parallel lives. I would have loved that rip even with the rain. That was a pretty muddy ride out. Nice bike. I had a KTM 690 enduro r but sold it for a Honda crf300l. Much happier. Didn't need all that power and much lighter.
That rainy and muddy adventure was fun to watch. Thanks Mandalorian!
Lol, thanks Alan!
That had to be one of the coolest videos I’ve seen. You always been good at filming your adventures, but this one was on point. Your camera rig is great in quality of both video and audio. The scenery and vistas there this time of year is breathtaking. Love the comedic side of this one. I also came back from a enduro camping trip this past weekend albeit in the woods here. This already brought back memories of it. Well done sir.
Thank you for the kind words, that is appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it Dan!
That was about as real as it gets! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work you are doing! Motorcycle looks like a blast.
Thanks! So glad you liked it!

Gorgeous scenery as always… just wow. ‘Looks like it was a beautiful time out and food & coffee mouthwatering. Grogu definitely needs a pair of earmuffs to keep him warm on the bike though. 😉 Cheers!

Man you are the most complete adventure rider ever: trail riding, trout fishing coocking and camping. Im planing and testing this for two years. Im glad to see that im not the only crazy person that îs doing this. Just converted my Husqvarna 300 tpi with 17 inch adventure wheels, panniers, camping and trout fishing gear. Drive safe and have fun.
That is awesome, we hope you have a great safe time out there. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
In a survival situation it's important to have a Yoda doll with trenchcoat.
Yes, it really is. So glad you understand this. Thanks for watching Billy!

Bring him you must, or fail you will!
Grogu is his name.
Excellent Caution Techniques on the Bike! Well Done on the Entire Vid!
Thanks 🙏
Such a beautiful area. Love your content from start to finish.
Thanks so much Jared!
That husky really does look like a bike that the Mandalorian would ride. Super cool helmet I love the whole theme you got going on you even brought baby Yoda I’m digging it😄👍👍
Thank you Dara, so glad you enjoyed it. Sure was a fun little trip.
Sometimes you need to find out what you (and your bike) are capable of. If you don’t push yourself and take risks, you will never know. As you said….“what an adventure”. Thanks for the awesome video.
Yes, that is the truth. Thanks for watching!
Had my first night out last night with the full size Firebox stove. Epic camping next to a river with a huge ribeye cooked over a beautiful fire. Love this piece of kit!!
That is great to hear, thank you for the feedback. So glad you got out to make some great food on your Firebox Stove. Have fun out there and stay safe Glenn!
This is my favourite of all your films, it’s right up my alley and I enjoyed it a lot well done

That was so suspenseful that by the end I almost forgot about the beautiful fish and steak at the beginning! Glad you got off the mountain okay. Thanks for the virtual adventure!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! When things get serious I sometimes forget to film then realize I missed the best part.
Great video with biking! Miss the dogs, but your new companion is cool. I can’t say how much it means to hear your expression of gratitude!
Thank you Michael!
In the voice of Yoda: "Catching fish you are" 🤣🤣 I love motorcycle camping. 👏👏👏 Beard on, brother. ✌️
That is too funny, thanks for watching and commenting! Glad you enjoyed it.
how cool! Love the little grill
HAHA....ya gotta lub da dual sport camping. My klr 650 was jealous and can't wait to make a vid of my own. I could feel the rain pouring over me as I sat here drinking a cold beer. It was wonderful, thanks so much for sharing...CHEERS!
Lol that is awesome, thanks for the comment Ted and for watching!
I solo motorcycle camp with my BMW g650 gs and I always bring my FireBox. I just also bought a Nano and did the Kick Start for one of the Emergency ones too. I am very excited to get that one. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos. Smiles, "A" Lowery
Thank you so much for your ongoing support, we sure appreciate it! Have fun out there and stay safe!
On my gosh!! That first seen, was breath taking😄😄
Thank you Leslie, it was a beautiful trip.
Great watch Steve, for sure! I’ve turned into a nano nut! I was using the titanium version of a competitors stove for backpacking due to its lightweightness, but it was warping in such a way that it dumped the fire out all over the place. Not a huge emergency here in New England but dangerous anytime so I had to 86 it and go back to the nano Steve. I started practicing with it here at home and on carcamping trips over and over to get the lighting process dialed in and now it’s my goto for backpacking! Aaand it’s made in the US! My solo stove lite is made in China, i later found out. I reckon pretty soon I will end up with the 5” gen 2 I’m sure. Thanks again Steve for taking us along on this white knuckle journey.
Thank you for the support, so glad you are enjoying your Nano. You will find the 5" Firebox to be just as enjoyable. Have fun out there!
Just purchased one of your stoves have several other stoves but really enjoy the fire box far more thank you for a great product
Thank you so much for your support and business, that is appreciated James!

That's great, thank you for watching Janis!
Steve - I had a couple of these when I was in my teens and camping in Montana. It's a camping trip turned into ADVENTURE - loved it!
The places you drink coffee - and yes a second cup is ALWAYS justified in the rain - are stunning!!! gonna use that warming tray tip - looks like a great way to maybe even raise a biscuit before baking?!?
Yes it would work really well for that actually Ken. Thanks for watching and for the ongoing support. It is appreciated. Have fun out there with your Firebox Gear!
Life is this, always liked your share, thx.
Thank you Karel, so glad you enjoyed it!
Chris Bamman does videos like this awesome!! Heading to San Diego tomorrow for a week of beachside camping.....last one of the year! Keep enjoying my friend! Timmy C Arizona
That is great, have a wonderful trip Timmy!!
Great warming rack hack! Amazing Fall colors on this trip...and the scenes at 27-28 mins in could well be the Scottish Highlands.
Thank you Brendan, it really was a beautiful trip. We are glad you enjoyed it!
Like your idea with the outside plate. Has potential. Keep things warm, warm buns.😃😃
It works great, one of our customers showed it to us. Thanks Leslie!
There's nothing like life on two wheels.... in inclement weather! Great job,,, you beat it!
Thanks so much, definitely glad it was not worse! Appreciate the comment Mike.
Really enjoyed this one!! new supporter here ,,watching from Doha Qatar
Impressed by your commitment to sandals. Side-grill roasting is brilliant.
Lol! 🙏
I’ve just spent 34 min watching a bearded man in wool socks and sandals catch a fish, roast a steak with sticks and take a sketchy ride in the rain. All with some of the most amazing fall scenery I’ve ever seen. It was hypnotic!!! I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!! Although I’d be more nervous on the wet blacktop with those nobbies instead of the mud.
LOL that was a great comment Dennis! Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Steve. It’s a treat to watch your videos. Happy Halloween to you and your family 👻 🎃
Thank you so much, Happy Halloween to you and yours as well!
Gorgeous landscape!
Thanks for watching David!
The footage from 19:50 to 20:13 is just so natural...as usual...your outdoors cooking...simple...yet still the best
Thanks so much Joe, glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like you knew the way. Thanks for sharing. Texas
Thanks for watching Jeff!
Yoga: “Catch a fish Steve!”
Steve: “I’m trying!”
Yoga: “Either do or do not. There is no try.”
LOL this was great!!
YoDa
Damned auto-correct. :(
Nice
That would be great to ride that bike into the mountains for a couple of days of relaxation! Fish looked amazing as usual. I just got word from Kickstarter to, so I am stoked to get your latest stove.
That is great, thanks so much Russell. We sure appreciate your support!
Hello! My friend.
Wow! It's such a healing and energy 🌹💗💘 motorcycle camping video.
The food looks so delicious and the scenery of nature is so beautiful.
Have a lucky 💘🌹❤ day.
👍👍👍🤙👌
It was a great trip. Thanks for watching!
Looks like you had a fantastic little escape and I'm so jelly! Thanks to Covid I'm stuck down here in N. Florida with no mountains, no cold, clear lakes, no Trout and no aspens. Thanks for the video, I am living vicariously and imagining I can smell that crisp fragrant fall air. Miss it so much.
That is too bad, hopefully that changes sooner than later for you. Hang in there and thank you for watching!
When in DOUBT throttle OUT!! 😁✊🔥 cool trip as always take care!!(=✌💚
Thanks so much, appreciate the comment!
Two cups at LEAST. Nice work, as always Steve!!!
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for sharing such fantastic content. I know that lake well. it is one of most beautiful places I have ever been. (Exciting place to be in a thunderstorm)
Yes! Thanks Matt!
Sold my old Enduro years ago. It’s the only bike I ever regret selling. Man I miss that thing after watching this, thanks for the memories Steve. I called my bike Thumper, had a SuperTrap exhaust on it & when the engine was warm & at an idle it had a very distinct Sound…Thump Thump 😂
That is awesome, the memories are probably amazing. Thanks for watching and for your comment, so glad you enjoyed it!
Cold and wet trail = my day today. Only difference is that I'm sitting here at just above the freezing temp! Great footage, BTW.
Thanks so much, stay safe out there!
WOW!! That started out to be great trip, but then, Mother Nature reminds us who's the Boss, and she made it an awesome adventure..
Nice riding on soppy mess, it looked very sketchy most of the way..
It was sketchy for sure but thankful it was not worse. Thanks for watching Tim, so glad you enjoyed it.
Another great video always a great day when you post videos
Thanks so much Raymond, that is appreciated!

Thank you so much, it is appreciated!!
OUTSTANDING RIDE Sir !!
Thanks so much!
I am a HUGE moto-camper, and enjoyed this greatly, I hope to see more!
Thanks so much for watching, so glad you enjoyed it!
You've provided newbie bikers with an educational video regarding respecting the limitations of the Laws of Physics by reducing speed, thereby reducing lean angle & not exceeding the coefficient of friction of knobbies on slick asphalt. Assuming you didn't scratch or crack the engine case weaving between boulders, congratulations on a successful trip under adverse conditions. One of my six motorcycles was a Kawasaki KLR-650 Dual Sport. It was heavy for an Enduro bike, but I enjoyed strapping a fishpole to the back of the cargo tray & trekking to otherwise inaccessible forest streams. At 71, I've scaled back my testosterone vs adrenaline level adventures, but I still have my memories & I still ride frequently on the Suzuki 1250 Bandit ( my sport touring machine ) & the Triumph 1200cc Bonneville Bobber ( which is my hot sticky weather hooligan bike ). At my age I realized long ago that pace is everything!!!
Yes, agreed! Thanks for the comment Barry and the kind words!! Have fun out there and stay safe!
Watching the video and waiting for the new stove position...in eager anticipation 🙂
Hello from Russia. I've been impressed by the video. Very nice nature, like in my country in the north. The weather was bad, but you survived. Respect.
Thank you for watching from Russia!
I was relieved when you finally got out on the asphalt road. YODA(I am not sure, his name)It so cute to bring him. It is already dyed in autumn colors. nice view ! Thank you for your great Video. from Japan Kaeko Nagao

Very cool adventure! I just have to say though, the bike may be fun to ride but it is not as cute as your four pack critters! haha! Thanks for sharing. :) :)
My newest video is up which includes all of my four-legged friends 👍
czcams.com/video/EmyvQ9qmv0Q/video.html
Some pretty skilled motorcycle driving there, in very poor conditions, Steve! Nice watch, enjoyed!
Thank you for the kind words, it is appreciated Donald!
I was just thinking, 'Man, I hope he catches something'', and then your line jumped! Wicked, bro! Well done! When you sliced up that lump of steak, I couldn't help thinking, 'When you're cold and hungry, even raw meat tastes good!' I've been there, I know what it's like!
Always a new experience in store when you're in the mountains!
hello, thanks for your work. I am from Russia, from Siberia, your forests remind me very much of my homeland, I watch your videos and they warm my soul. Health to you and your family, do not stop there, but for Mando a separate like)
Thank you for watching, we are glad you enjoyed it!
hello firefox how are you? Each video you upload is very beautiful and the food you make is not even said is very tasty but here savoring me ... the always giving me a postcard of those beautiful places
Thank you for watching, so glad you enjoy it Tona!
Been recently learning to cook with cast iron. That plus your Firebox is looking like a match made in heaven for me. Very nice.
Yes! An excellent pairing! You'll have fun with that 👍 I predict a future filled with delicious camping meals and treats for you and yours🥂
Man, we love our Firebox stoves. Nano is great, but my heart belongs to the G2. I've made many an amazing family meal on that thing. Grogu approves and that's all that matters. Also, you're like the Bob Ross of outdoor videos. Super relaxing voice. Makes me want to go be in the happy little trees, not that it takes much for me to want that. Thanks for another great video!
Thank you for your support and kind words. We have heard the Bob Ross comment several times, too funny. We hope you get out there soon and enjoy your time. Take care and stay safe!
I'm not going to be able to shake the Bob Ross comparison ...
