- Ash, Juni and I hiked into this beautiful little remote lake which sits at about 10,000 feet elevation in one of Utah's most beautiful mountain ranges! I caught some beautiful tiger and cutthroat trout, which I cooked up on my Firebox Stove! I also used our Ultra Cook Kit and our Coffee Kit All of which is available at www.fireboxstove.com I'll leave direct links below.
I love trips like this! Hiking into somewhere particularly nice, setting up camp, then spending two nights, giving me plenty of time to settle in, forcing me to relax and really take in the sights, sounds and even the smells of the beautiful wilderness. Enough time to really gel with nature. I would love to know what a week would do for me or even a month! Maybe someday I can try that, I could plan a long trip, then have my family come for part of it meeting me somewhere for the weekend to play and resupply me for a bit more time out.
Subscribers have reached out to me expressing gratitude for the calming nature of my video's referring to them as Nature ASMR I don't set out to make video's specifically for that purpose, but it warms my heart knowing that my video's help people dealing with anxiety or those stuck in a hospital bed etc.
Here are direct links to some of the products designed by me or specifically sourced for their usefulness in the wilderness.

this is the best way of life.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

the dogs with their little packs so adorable.
Thanks!
@Chị Xinh Vlogs I don't know what you mean?
@Xov Xwm Hmong 24h you are stupid dont you?
@Xov Xwm Hmong 24h lmao he has to hike he left the car because he couldn’t get up there without it
You know what's so good about your show, Steve? It is the beat of it. You showed everything in a very relaxing pace which allowed me to enjoy every single bit of it. The tone of your speech was very comfortable too. This show was as good as the taste of those tiger trouts...hahaha!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I just try to match the ambiance of the wilderness! I don't want to distract from the natural beauty of the background.
You are correct l love it reminds me of Maine....Thanks for sharing
This is always so superior to anything else that's on TV
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it.

So relaxing...thank you. Love the full length vid format too👍
Thanks for letting me know! Cheers!
This is where you go and how you get your mind right. Thanks for sharing. That's the peace I need in my life
That's exactly right. Thank you for your kind comment.
The scenery is beautiful. Delicious food becomes more delicious.I love trout and potatoes, so just watching the video will make me hungry.
It was absolutely peaceful watching you.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Tip: put any spices INSIDE the trout BEFORE cooking it. That way the flavours will mix way better. Especially when using fresh herbs this makes a big difference.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to give that a try! 👍
Firebox Stove I think it’s so cool your respond to your comments!
Yes, I try my best to get to them all. Thanks for noticing!
@@goodbyemr.anderson5065 No need to be a jerk. Feel free to not comment any further.
@@goodbyemr.anderson5065 You clearly didn't watch the video, nor read the title. He cooks it three different ways with the spice being used in every varation. The first one he chops it all up, the last 2 he doesn't.
He was also just giving a friendly recommendation, something you obviously don't know how to do.
The dogs brought me here lol, then i enjoyed watching all, beautiful nature, and surely delicious fishes cooked fresh right of the lake👍
Yum love trout like that. Happy camping
this guy sure loves his hakkata spice, lol!
Yes, it really is delicious!
Firebox Stove I'm planning to buy one on Amazon:)
I love your editing style! and I love this place omg!!
Thanks for the kind words!
Your dogs are the main reason why i watch your videos
Thanks for letting me know 👍
What a wonderful camp!
Enviable with faithful dogs.
Wouldn't be the same without them 🙏
Beautiful. We subbed. I love your dogs.
Thank you for the sub, I appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed watching!
Last time I caught and cooked trout in my mountain camp, I didn’t bring any kind of seasoning but I gathered some wild wood sorrel that gave the tart lemony flavor I wanted. It’s good to know the elevation range of wild plants to cook with like sorrel, wild onions, wild turnips, etc.
you've been cooking and eating the same food in most of your videos.... and I am always entranced at the peacefulness of it all. thank you.
Thank you, I am glad you found it peaceful!
Love your 1st Gen Tundra! Getting my rig put together to enjoy life just like you! Thanks for your product and amazing videos
I raise my glass to you, "Trout cooked in bacon grease."

Love it. My older brother and i did this same thing every trout season. Now my son and i are on our second trip come this april. You have the secret to life right here in this video. Well done sir. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, looks so calming out there. Love seeing your dogs with packs on - cute.
Thanks Jimmy I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍
Don’t take this wrong. These are the best most scenic infomercials anywhere. I bought the 5 inch stove setup and like it a lot. I would like to get the titanium 5 inch but need to wait for better funds. I’d also like to try fishing some of the lakes you show after I retire in 3 years. Keep up the innovation and great videos.
Nothing there to be offended by! Thanks for the kind words!
Beautiful country👌👌👌
Thank you, it really is a beautiful state with so much to offer in the great outdoors!
Where is this place bro? I live in South Island New Zealand.

Great book! I still own the first version I read. Every teen should read that book. Sounder is a good one too.
Nice solo adventure, I didn’t know Utah had tiger trout,
Yes! I hadn't discovered tiger trout till the last ten years but I love them! Good fighters and man they taste great!

You are brave cooking over the water. I would have for sure accidentally dumped it all in the water. Awesome video, I could almost smell the fish!
My favorite cooking show. Cheers!
Thanks Griff!
Tiger trout in bacon grease, yes please.
Yes, such a GREAT flavor!!
Man , your vids always get me excited to be in the backcountry. Now I want winter to be over faster. I think, no, I know I am going to have to get set up with this stove. it would be great to carry in the side by side for some wild hook and cook trips.
Thank you for the comment, I am glad you feel inspired after watching the videos to get out and enjoy the backcountry. Let me know when you get the chance to try it out how you like it. Cheers!
He has inspired me too. I lived in Colorado for 3 years and it is because of Steves videos and gear that got me into backpacking and camping. My stove has about 20 burns in it now and I recently moved to Alaska. Used it twice here so far but I wanna wait till after winter to get back at it.
Thanks for sharing your video,I enjoy your fish and potatoes meal, looks real good,.simple and easy too prepare.
Amazing place. So peaceful. Love your videos. Congrats
Coffe, fishing and dogs without anyone...does life get any better than that?! I don't think so! :D

Not really, like at all LOL. But I do sell it on my site.
Connor McGregor is now hiding in Utah’s wilderness.

Se me hace "agua la boca" viendo como prepara esos deliciosos pescados.
It tasted every bit as good as it looked 👍
En esos parajes todo se potencia y recobra otro valor.Imagino un buen mate y un tabaco mientras voy dando vueltas el filet de trucha

What a life, Steve! Just fish n relax, fish n relax!!!
The dogs with their little packs is so cute!
Thank you, they love to come along and enjoy our hikes. They carry their food and blanket.
The quiet wilderness is about to get crowded.
Nah man, the wilderness is older than we are. Most people are too lazy to spend their time like this. Though he makes it look easy in the video, being alone in the bush is no joke, and can be very unforgiving if you don't know what you are doing.

You should show the part where you chuck the fish bones over your shoulder into the lake. I love your videos, sir.
Lol! Yes, it is pretty funny to watch 😉 but I don't throw it into the lake, over into the bushes is more my style 👍

I'm betting that Sasquatch was stealing the bacon off that Tiger Trout in the fry pan. Only explanation I can think of... Ash and Juni have no thumbs, so they're not to blame.

I want to die on that lake.)
That would be a nice place to go!
should have cooked the head and skin. Nevermind he did
@@sonyakelsey7809 What in the world does that have to do with how to cook trout?
Yeah, my favourite are the crisp fins and tail-
You always cook trout with the head on. There are very fine and tasty oils that come from the brain through the spine and into the meat. duh.
I just hope them dogs got to eat the heads! Mine love em!
rjiggy07 the muscles in the cheek are really good too! Probably the best tasting morsel of the whole trout.
the best healthiest part of the fish is the head .The head contains the omega3 and oil.
