We were going to visit last year but it wasn't open to foreigners in April around my birthday time. Was so sad! We had visited South Korea instead. It was my first time on planes and first international travel 😱 If we get to go though in the future I'm coming here!
More of a pork brick than a pork cutlet. Perfect preparation given the gargantuan portion sizes - first a long, slow simmer which will result in moist thoroughly cooked pork. Second - season, crumb and deep fry the pre-cooked meat which should result in a crispier, crunchier cutlet that is evenly cooked through (because under cooked pork can lead to a hospital visit). Very laborious prep but an awe-inspiring take on a traditional dish that should result in a sensationally satisfying meal (or two meals courtesy of the doggie bags for those who cannot finish in one sitting). Brilliant video - thanks to the videographer and kudos to Sumo Chef and his team.

先程いただいてきました。
肉の旨味はもちろんの事、物凄く柔らかい。
これだけの大盛りなのに、味に飽きる事もなく完食しました。
猛暑もありますが、丼物なのにビールが進みます。
食後に食べた付け合わせのピクルス、これもいい口直しになりました！

食うのが好きな人の作る料理は美味いんです！
揚げる手前で加熱してあるから分厚くても火が通ってるんだーそうゆうアイデアが浮かぶことがまず、すごいや
デカ盛りって調理も盛り付けも汚い所多いのにこちらは凄く丁寧で好感持てます☺️
沸騰させずに茹で豚にして揚げるからブ厚くても火は通ってるし、
高温でカリッと揚げられる。
そんな高温だと、この厚みで生肉からなら衣が真っ黒焦げになってしまう。生肉の肉汁でフライヤーの油が汚れるのも少ない。実に理に適っている。玉子とじとタレかつ丼の良いとこ取りの盛り付けも素晴らしい。
